BuzzzFuzzz
With a little catching up to do... here a few from the last week or so. Some of the oldies/classical records are getting a full listen through for the first time, after a wash and glue treatment.

A special album for me. I have a few pressings of it - best being Japanese

cheekyboy
Fleetwood Mac - Tusk. 2LP 33rpm on Reprise Records. One I haven't spun for a while, so correcting that today. Not the commercial success of a couple of their other albums and I'm not sure why..................one of my favourite bands and Tusk has some of their best work on it, I reckon.

A special album for me. I have a few pressings of it - best being Japanese Hey John. Yeah Man, to have a few copies suggests a strong attachment to an album. I first heard the album in year 12, 1985, when a school mate played it at one of our regular social gatherings. We had a very tight knit school group which revolved around footy, netball, the beach, parties, the Leagues Club and local pubs for a wealth of live music. Everyone in our year knew every word to the Violent Femmes' self titled album. I didn't really listen to this type of music back then, but 'In the Eye of the Storm' always stuck with me from hearing it once about 35 years ago. I picked up this copy second hand in Sydney around 2000/2006, probably paid $5 for it. It's been dormant on my shelf for many years until being revived with a glue treatment a while back. Now it gets a spin more regularly. It has the odd crack and pop, but overall very good vinyl. I don't remember much about the gathering itself ( many drinks, many bongs ).but I remember where it was and I remember this album. A good example of an obscure ( to me ) album being a time capsule, taking me back to a specific time and place every time I hear it. Cheers. Ant.
