Happy Australia Day with this iconic Aussie Band -

Daddy Who?

Picked this up today from JB Hifi for Oz Day and coz I needed a shopping experience ?

Sounds great (a little hiss here and there - on side 2 - but guess that is from the original source - otherwise nice pressing) and every Aussie needs this in their collection- groovin to Eagle Rock !!!!!!

It was the first Australian album to make No. 1 nationally ?

For @cheekyboy

I don’t have much in the country music genre in the collection but I do have a couple of signed copies from a couple of sisters from 1989

Sisters - Joy and Lyn Johnston

Lyn passed away about 20 years ago

Both these girls loved my wife as they worked for us in our retail business and presented these records to us after they recorded

They were both very talented along with their brother as an extra voice

Hi All,

David Bowie, Live from 1974,

Sides 1 and 4 are on one LP with 3 and 4 on the other, presumably for old style gramophones where you could stack them then flip them.

JJ

Hey JJ,

More likely for Juke boxes, like a double album I have for The Ventures. Seems to be from around that period.

Stack and flip!

A little nostalgia this morning as I was moving things around the collection and found this little beauty ?

As I’m going to be a grandfather around May I came across a 45RPM single from the TV series Skippy - and just had to play it

I had watched every single episode of that show while growing up

Ahh the memories ?

Artist - Eric Jupp

Title - Skippy The Bush Kangaroo

Trying something different now as I had seen @furtherpale thread searching for Cello music

Found this Australian LP

A bit of a change in direction after playing half a dozen different Bowie albums in a row. .... ?

Thank you Ed for selling me theses truly excellent copies, this is easily the best Queen Greatest Hits version I have heard by far.

 Agree very underrated album IMO.

With lyrics like these what's not to like hey

I'm drinkin' a soy latte
I get a double shotie
It goes right through my body
And you know I'm satisfied
I drive my mini cooper
And I'm feeling super-duper
Yo they tell me I'm a trooper
And you know I'm satisfied
I do yoga and pilates
And the room is full of hotties
So I'm checking out their bodies
And you know I'm satisfied

Totally agree @Tubularbells and I really love the remixes of American Life with Missy Elliot too.

The whole album is fantastic - Love Profusion & Die Another Day and more - what is not to like?

It sounds perfect on vinyl and I was lucky to get one of the pressings with no issues (some have received it where one disc plays at 33 and the other at 45) - but this is a perfect copy. Purchased from Discogs from someone that had it stored unplayed.

Lucky me ?
