Something different from me, although heavy metal is not new to me

A double album first released in 1991, but my LP is a 2014 reissue

It is the first time I have heard this album

The softer tracks like Nothing Else Matters are very well done and in a similar vein to Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin

I read that it was not received well by the fans because it was to commercial

However as it the first time for me I find the album a finely tuned piece of work

Artist - Metallica

Title - Metallica

Great album, this album is known as the black album, and widely accepted as Metallica’s best and one of the best in this genre. Many heavy metal bands say they hope their next release will be their black album, i.e. their best and an all time classic like Metallica’s , unfortunately that rarely happens.

Well I thought it was a great album

This is based from a first time listening perspective

I remember coming out of one of their concerts and hearing some dick head saying he walked out when they played a song from this album. You get that I guess. I also remember when I was playing their early stuff, in the day, like Kill Em All and Ride the Lightning people would almost be scared of me because of that music. ? They were mega heavy in those days or at least most other music wasn't. Once Justice For All came out and then this album they were mainstream and played on popular FM stations . I'm always a bit amused at that. But indeed this album more than anything else was responsible for them becoming widely accepted. Probably not may favorite but some great songs on their IMO.

I will follow up from @glenm64  with another Hendrix album

Recorded between the making of Are You Experienced and Axis Bold as Love

This album is very funky psychedelic rock, that is very free flowing

This album with Jimi Hendrix is with Curtis Knight

Quote from something I read -

When Hendrix signed up with Chas Chandler in the UK, Hendrix seemed to forget that he was already signed to Ed Chaplin in the US. After coming to the US to play at Monterey and subsequently tour with the Monkees, he hooked up with and agreed a jam session with Curtis Knight with whom he had been working with prior to the Experience. The session was supervised by Ed Chaplin.

Hendrix agreed to these recordings as he felt some obligation to Knight and Chaplin, but he didn't want his name used on them and this is pretty much ephemeral psychedelia.

Artist - Jimi Hendrix with Curtis Knight

Title - The Wild One

I have a treat for King Crimson fans

Just arrived today in the post one day earlier than expected

This is a bootleg LP with a track that is unreleased &  I wanted to have it for that reason

The track is Dr D and also the LP Title

So happy that a fellow member gave me a heads up on one available in Australia

Thank you Plastic Passion Records in WA ?

This is a live album called Dr D primarily recorded in Atlanta - 23rd June 1973

Just playing the album now and loving it as it’s not a studio album I have noticed some wonderful nuances with some improv

Artist - King Crimson

Title - Dr D Atlanta 23rd June 1973

I gave the record a good wash with the RCM and it played well

Still see visible scuff marks

I haven’t had a chance to use the glue method yet

An album first released in 1970

The last album from this band and probably the best

When released the band had essentially disbanded

A fantastic album with some memorable tracks

Artist - Canned Heat

Title - Future Blues
