King Crimson larks tounge in aspic

should be a prerequisite to join in

on this thread !

King Crimson was my first conscious introduction to progressive rock

It’s one of my top rated bands and always played at my house or car

Dont discount some of the more delicate tracks they have released from various albums

I personally like - Walking On Air

Given a spin after a PVA cleaning.  The two Decca records were so bad I couldn't listen to them. They sound amazing now especially as they are 55 and 57 years old. The Nutcracker in particular sounds incredibly detailed given its age. Saint Saens was better but dramatically improved after a clean.

I don't think Phase 4 stereo was invented until '61.  However the LXT monos are indeed much older.  They are excellent quality usually.  I love listening to them.  Just a couple of days ago I listened to a box set of Turandot on Decca LXT mono records.

Yep 1812 is 1963 vintage same as me. Beethoven was recorded in 1960 but mine is an English 1961 version. What is Phase 4 anyway?

I have never used this cleaning method but have a couple of records that may benefit from this type of clean

Would any PVA glue work or does it have to be Mont Marte Gel Craft Glue

Hey FR.  I've read a lot of people do use PVA wood glue, I tried it once a while back but if left a little residue.

There is a thread on the Vinyl & Turntable section by Candyflip, about the Monte Marte glue, if ya wanna check it out?

I believe it's much like the re-virginizer mentioned and used by quite a few.

I highly recommend the process.

Cheers Man.

Ant.
