Cheers Hector.  I have it and a great album it is.           Thanks to @evil c   Donald Fagen - The Nightfly    Mofi one step release.   High standard

Now I want the real thing! Pink Floyd "Animals" 2016 remaster, Dutch pressing.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell Australia  1977   Had a "loop skip" in it so hit it with the Revirginzer Product after I could see some crud stuck in a groove using a magnifying gla

Prince - Purple Rain - 2017 reissue based on the 2015 remaster supervised by Prince in 2015. the cd has a bad rap, however the vinyl mastering has been done with skill, love and precision by Kevin Gray. Its sounds really great and provides better separation and space with the keyboards/synths in the mix - most noticeable on Take me With You and The Beautiful Ones.   Everything about this vinyl release is class. the poster is very cool.

LRB "Sleeper Catcher" Oz 1st pressing, EMI Maxicut......sounds superb. ?

I'm not a great ballad fan but if 'Light Of Day' isn't one of the most cruisey and cool ballads ever, I'll eat my hat.B)

The less said about the movie, the better ?

Picked up a S/H DVD of it a while ago, couldn't finish it.

Prince ‎– HITnRUN Phase One - 2015 -  absolutely luv this album except track one which is the worst on the album. 2nd last studio album released and show's off a " fresh" stripped back Prince sound.  Many Prince fans don't like this and prefer Phase 2, which is Prince in his comfort zone not really doing anything new.

For me  HITnRUN Phase One is a lot better and kiks arsse. Fans should give it a few more spins.  the last two tracks 1000 X's & O's + June are amongst his best.  might be a long time b4 this gets an official vinyl release, but this boot sounds xclent.

Good to listen to stunning music from a master guitarist that makes it look simple

I don't think it was originally $20.00 on release, would have been around $6.00.

100% correct. For years and years through my childhood/adolescence all albums were $5.95

$82.77 in todays money - hmmm.

all my earliest purchases were in the early 1980s (say $12 for a cassette) which was still a serious amount of money to a teenager.

edit:  I *really* like finding old CDs and LPs with the original price tag on them.  GANGgajang for $14.95 circa 1985 - out of the bargain bin at Myers?  Probably.  My dim recollection that around 1985 an album was around $20.

Dave Warner's From The Suburbs "Mug's Game" Oz 1st pressing.

If you can get past the bogan, almost 'One Nation' lyrics of the opener 'Convict Streak', this is a fine album. The title track is brilliant.

He's my hero! Just counted. I've got 20 on vinyl and (without checking) another 4 or 5 on cd.

My advice is
Listen to the it at a quiet time and immerse yourself in the music

This is good advice.  There's something mesmerising about this album.  The quiet parts speak louder than the loud parts of the song.

Last night, another critical listening session (with scotch and herbs)......started with Yes "Big Generator" German 1st pressing'. Dynamic to say the least.

R-1403449-1591077444-4989.jpeg.jpg

Followed that with "The Doors" debut, 2009 reissue, remaster, Dutch pressing. Back to the 60's......the vibe is so strong.

R-9528387-1482148896-1126.jpeg.jpg

Ended with a CD (which I will list here as it is part of the one session), Todd Rundgren's (TR1) 'cut and paste' masterpiece, the sonic roller coaster that is "No World Order". When in the mood for it, I find this hugely rewarding.

Currently spinning the truly brilliant "The Absence Of Presence" By Kansas, 2020 Dutch pressing. Sweet!

You make a very very good observation. Currently in Adelaide there is a dearth of places to purchase good condition s/h vinyl at reasonable prices. I guess if you want it bad enough?!!? I'm happy to pm you the specialist record store where this came from, but increasingly (as I think I've said here before), there is a practice of Discogging the historically world record price and applying that to their average stock. I wanted this album, but you're correct, I should have found it for $10 or less. Conversely, I am well ahead with my recent OpShop buys, having acquired quite a few beauties for a couple of bucks each.

Yep, I think some Op Shop's are getting ahead of the game.....it's ok as long as the LP's are in great knick I suppose. My local Op Shop's are the $2 per LP no matter the condition types of store but the selections are the usual crap. Just got to be there at the right time....it's basically a lottery.  I've had a few good scores over the years but they are few and far between.

I think there is a significant amount of backroom picking over and dispersal to specialist stores from OpShop staff. As a longtime collector of Hawaaian shirts, I can say with some authority, they aren't to be found in OpShops anymore. The same is likely happening with records. You're in luck only if you want Richard Clayderman or Acker Bilk.
