Willie Nelson & Roger Miller - Old Friends. 33rpm on CBS label. Great to hear these two together and I reckon I've had this album over 35 years and it is still sounding great. Ray Price makes an appearance on one track too.:thumb:

Willie Nelson - Phases And Stages. 33rpm on Atlantic label. One of my favourite Willie albums and brings plenty of memories flooding back.

Feeling a bit tired and lazy after a hard days work, I couldn’t be bothered playing records so I streamed a couple of albums, then up next was AC/DC’s PRW UP,  it just didn’t sound right, flicked to vinyl and so much better, rock music on vinyl, nothing better. Had a couple of beers so wide awake now, I’m still playing PWR UP weekly, I rate it with their best albums.

An excellent online friend of mine has his own small label that allows his own band to make their own 7" EPs and support east coast Aussie punk and underground bands... this is the first Leftards release. My buddy Ronny is the singer :-))

2015 Reissue

Usually I’ll avoid Plain Recordings as they are usually pressed by Rainbo. This reissue is quite good although not excellent. Hoping for a better reissue soon...

Love The Jayhawks. I have the American Recordings 2014 reissues which was mastered and cut by Kevin Gray and pressed by QRP.

So was this Rainy Day Music :

When I bought them from Amazon in 2019 they were both cheap as chips! Under $30.... Get them as import from US just to be sure you get the QRP pressings. Great SQ!

The Robert Cray Band - In my Soul (2014)

He's obviously an excellent blues player, but I've always liked the way he also leans into soul. There are a couple of Stax/Volt covers here and an original after Booker T & the MGs. He's not a particularly strong singer, but has a slow-burning, pleading urgency that is generally effective. This may not be as essential as Strong Persuader or Bad Influence, but it's a solid late career effort. He would have been 60 when he made it. It's all very well put together both in terms of production (Steve Jordan) and high quality deliberately vintage packaging (down to a cute 'can be played on mono equipment').

Arrived today. My first record for the year. And it's beauty. One of my all time favourite bands.

Good sq.

Very catchy ear worm toons.

I think you would like this band John @scuzzii.

I'm on my 3rd listen. Fairly hammered this on Spotify over the last couple of months. Worth it just to hear Gavin Harrison on drums alone.

Album recorded by Kscope. Who do a decent job, especially (dare l mention it) on their CDs. Not had a dud in either format.

The Pineapple Theif: Vissions Of The Truth. Have a listen folks.

? K.

In that dire desert island scenario, this would be one of my dozen discs.

This one is sealed with sharp corners, but it does look like there is the begining of a seam split underneath the  shrink on the top. (See pics)

2014 vinyl release by Jack White

This "Ultra LP" release features several special features:

      · Tracks A6 and B7 are locked grooves featuring elements from their respective previous tracks. "High Ball Stepper" doesn't end with a faded-out distortion as in the digital versions, it is locked instead.
      · Tracks A7 and B8 are hidden tracks pressed on their sides' labels, and play at 78 RPM and 45 RPM respectively, thus making the LP a three speed record.
      · Side A's groove is inverted and plays from the inside out.
      · "Just One Drink" consists of two different intros, each in its own groove, with both connecting at the body of the song. BA1 is acoustic, BB1 is electric.
      · Side B has a matte finish, giving the appearance of an un-played 78 RPM record.
      · Vinyl is pressed in flat-edged format.
      · Dead wax area on Side A contains a hand-etched hologram by Tristan Duke of Infinity Light Science, the first of its kind on a vinyl record.
      · Tracks B3 and B4 are swapped in comparison to the digital editions, and B2 features a slightly longer intro.
      · The vinyl was mastered entirely from analog sources with no additional compression used.
