Cheers Hector.  I have it and a great album it is.           Thanks to @evil c   Donald Fagen - The Nightfly    Mofi one step release.   High standard

Now I want the real thing! Pink Floyd "Animals" 2016 remaster, Dutch pressing.

Meat Loaf Bat Out Of Hell Australia  1977   Had a "loop skip" in it so hit it with the Revirginzer Product after I could see some crud stuck in a groove using a magnifying gla

The Strokes

The New Abnormal

2020

I haven’t bought a Strokes’ record since Room On Fire. Wow this is great and superb SQ to boost. It’s probably the best SQ out of the three that I have including Is This It? MoV reissue.

Pressed by RTI and cut by BG! Flat and quiet pressing.

x 100.  superb album and great sonics.       thanks for the tip.

The packaging is quite ridiculous in clear plastic sleeve and cling wrap album name and credits on the back .  came to a good compromise by wrapping the cling plastic vertically than horizontally so I can remove the record easy now  :)

Yes the cling wrap is a pita! I just peel one side off but wraping it vertically works great. How come I never thought of that!? 😂

LOL  - seems nobody on discogs thought of that either  🤣   - so much complaining about the packaging without any easy resolution - I have fixed that now :thumb:

Bought this new from World imports Hampton 40 years ago,  and still does it for me!

Not Gaucho, but in my opinion even better! 😀

Lenny Kravitz - Raise Vibration, a great album but I’m under a bit of duress tonight during my usual daily music session. I’m painting my music room at the moment and the paint fumes are making it difficult to stay in the room, but don’t worry I will tough it out, first coat and 20% done, a fun few weeks ahead.

I think it is being re-issued this February which will be good as it goes for a fortune now.....

IF they screw this up as bad as they did the 'Listen Without Predjudice' repress, HLOV has nothing to worry about.

His investment will be very sound ( or more so).  :)

In my youth. My albums smelled of beer. They don't now. They must have stopped producing those ones.

Prey tell... What is patchouli. Sounds like a food dish. Is it a noodle dish April 😳

The packaging on the first pressings of the CD, cassette, and LP were scented with patchouli to simulate church incense.

I have a Promo LP & UK Pressing - both original pressings and the smell of Patchouli is still there.

It also had a special message on Aids included.

I don't think noodles would taste nice with this though  🤣

Yes you had 2 purges and I got a few LPs from the first purge as well 😎

Volcano Choir

Unmap

2009

I was not going to get this on vinyl after experienced the horrible noisy pressing and thin sound of their second album Repave... but it’s cheap as chips...

Two wonderful surprises

— the SQ is clear and full, in fact pretty good & quiet!

— track B3 Still is the longer & different version of Woods on Bon Iver’s Blood Bank EP

Not everyone’s cup of tea but if it’s your coffee then I recommend this. 😁

The Cure ‎– Seventeen Seconds - 1980 - not sure how I got an original German pressing but it sure does sound good. the Cure's 2nd album and its bleak and dark - the perfect soundtrack to why my wife hates them and I luv them. the Cure, depressing music - C'mon no way 😊

The Cure ‎– Faith - 1981 - original UK pressing - 3rd album and it has such a bass line driven vibe, even more so than their previous albums.   wonderful

2014 vinyl release by Jack White

This "Ultra LP" release features several special features:

      · Tracks A6 and B7 are locked grooves featuring elements from their respective previous tracks. "High Ball Stepper" doesn't end with a faded-out distortion as in the digital versions, it is locked instead.
      · Tracks A7 and B8 are hidden tracks pressed on their sides' labels, and play at 78 RPM and 45 RPM respectively, thus making the LP a three speed record.
      · Side A's groove is inverted and plays from the inside out.
      · "Just One Drink" consists of two different intros, each in its own groove, with both connecting at the body of the song. BA1 is acoustic, BB1 is electric.
      · Side B has a matte finish, giving the appearance of an un-played 78 RPM record.
      · Vinyl is pressed in flat-edged format.
      · Dead wax area on Side A contains a hand-etched hologram by Tristan Duke of Infinity Light Science, the first of its kind on a vinyl record.
      · Tracks B3 and B4 are swapped in comparison to the digital editions, and B2 features a slightly longer intro.
      · The vinyl was mastered entirely from analog sources with no additional compression used.

So after finding myself in a music store with that old familiar joy of looking through vinyl albums I wanted to add a turntable to my setup. The Project X1  is what I was thinking I would dip my toe in with.

I have boxes of vinyl of classical from the old family home, but they are in average to poor condition. (but recordings I cannot get any more) So my question is:

If I am playing both new and old vinyl records,  am I going to destroy the needle? What do others here do about their original and mint collection without killing a $300 needle?

      Thanks!
