Well worth the investment. Beautiful packaging and pristine pressings. Beautiful SQ. They are seldom ever discounted though I've noticed.

On my wishlist.  Thanks!

Now I want the real thing! Pink Floyd "Animals" 2016 remaster, Dutch pressing.

Cheers Hector.  I have it and a great album it is.           Thanks to @evil c   Donald Fagen - The Nightfly    Mofi one step release.   High standard

.

After talking about how awful my EU pressing of Purple Rain was, I was curious to hear Brothers in Arms which was also gifted to me.  Also an EU pressing.  Says mastered from the original analogue/digital recordings and to be honest after Prince I was skeptical.

I was pleasantly surprised.  Reasonably low noise floor, good SQ.  So yes there's now two EU based reissues I have which I rate.  This one just added, and Steely Dan - Aja.

Edit:  Yes I know MFSL pressings are going to be better - don't rub it in haha!

... and this will close the session of my live music listening for today...

Led Zep 1969... a band at the height of their powers, quite an intimate recording, Plants voice great and the band really rocking some blues favourites like “You shook Me” and “I can’t quit you Baby” by Willie Dixon.

... darn, guess it’s a live encore from me.... found another one in the vault.... The Doors live recordings, 1968/69/70. John Sebastian guesting on Little Red Rooster....good recording from a 1983 pressing.

The legends says that Tom Yorke wrote Exit Music for a film for this movie but it wasn’t included in the soundtrack but it appears on the credits at the end, never watched but always liked the music.

Inspired for one of Ms Snow previous posts, don’t like her style too much but she has a nice voice.

If you don't have this album at all, I recommend getting it as I think it is one of the best "Greatest Hits" albums there is with not one bad track. I love this album and have several versions on CD and now two version on Vinyl. It never gets tired or old.

And if you want to round it up with some ballads - Madonna's "Something to Remember" is an awesome addition too.

https://www.discogs.com/Madonna-Something-To-Remember/release/9039903

(There are a lot of tracks each side of "Something to Remember", but I think it sounds fine as it is mainly ballads & sounds good to me - my copy was flawless)

Actually, this is the one I need. I remember these two compilations and I want the one that has Take a Bow her voice and the musical arrangements are great.

Britney Spears

Britney Jean

LTD Edition

US

2020

Not her best album but controversial all the same due to the fact of Katy Perry & Sia's involvement and shadows of doubt over how much her backing singer may have actually sang on this as she was on so many of the demos. Happy to have it though as a completist.

Holy crap this sounds great on vinyl.  Nice mix of strings & electronic best served in a low lit environment.

Live album included in G stands for Go-Betweens vol.2. Probably the only live Go-Betweens album which has good sound quality (that I have found, anyway). Lots of great songs from Talulah and Liberty Belle. Such a great  band.

Britney Spears

In The Zone

Limited Edition to 3000 copies

US

2019

Sounds super good - no clicks or pops -

Of course shrink wrap now off and in a nice clear Blake Sleeve.

I keep the Hype Stickers - started to try and transfer them over to the new outer sleeves, but so much trouble and they can get damaged so just keep them in a box now.

Does everyone else keep their Hype Stickers?

Yep I remove price tags If i don't think it will damage the sleeve, but personally like to keep hype stickers.  It's the way they were distributed so nice to keep original

2014 vinyl release by Jack White

This "Ultra LP" release features several special features:

      · Tracks A6 and B7 are locked grooves featuring elements from their respective previous tracks. "High Ball Stepper" doesn't end with a faded-out distortion as in the digital versions, it is locked instead.
      · Tracks A7 and B8 are hidden tracks pressed on their sides' labels, and play at 78 RPM and 45 RPM respectively, thus making the LP a three speed record.
      · Side A's groove is inverted and plays from the inside out.
      · "Just One Drink" consists of two different intros, each in its own groove, with both connecting at the body of the song. BA1 is acoustic, BB1 is electric.
      · Side B has a matte finish, giving the appearance of an un-played 78 RPM record.
      · Vinyl is pressed in flat-edged format.
      · Dead wax area on Side A contains a hand-etched hologram by Tristan Duke of Infinity Light Science, the first of its kind on a vinyl record.
      · Tracks B3 and B4 are swapped in comparison to the digital editions, and B2 features a slightly longer intro.
      · The vinyl was mastered entirely from analog sources with no additional compression used.

Roxy: Tonight's the Night Live is a live album by Canadian musician Neil Young. The album is culled from live recordings made at the Roxy Theatre on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, shows that celebrated the club's opening as part of Neil Young Tonight's the Night Tour 1973. Neil Young and the backing band he called the Santa Monica Flyers played two sets a night on September 20, 21, and 22, 1973, shortly after the band had finished recording Tonight's the Night.

So after finding myself in a music store with that old familiar joy of looking through vinyl albums I wanted to add a turntable to my setup. The Project X1  is what I was thinking I would dip my toe in with.

I have boxes of vinyl of classical from the old family home, but they are in average to poor condition. (but recordings I cannot get any more) So my question is:

If I am playing both new and old vinyl records,  am I going to destroy the needle? What do others here do about their original and mint collection without killing a $300 needle?

      Thanks!
