Deep Purple 'The Book of Taliesyn' (1968 US/ 1969 UK) Oh my God, this was my very first record l ever purchased. I had literally actually forgotten all about it. Wow gobsmacked, it has actually evoked some strong emotions. A mate asked me awhile ago, as to what my first record was. And for the life of me, l honestly could not remember. Bugged me for months. So thank you. I was 15 at the time and had just started my apprenticeship as a motor mechanic. I think it cost me $2 something? I was earning the princely some of $11 a week. The start of my music journey. 50 years later and still have the love.

The original pressing is a gem. Grab it! There's also this one from the same period. This is from the unedited soundboard tapes from the American leg of the 'Close to the Edge' tour which while rougher than 'Yessongs' is also great fun.

Janjuggler
Hi All, Ogden's Nut Gone Flake by The Small Faces, 50th Anniversary reissue from earlier this year, an excellent presentation, my opinion the only way to better the presentation would have been to have the reissue in a large metal replica of the tobacco can. It was also easy to do cover versions of their songs, so like every other band formed in high school we did heaps of them. My favourites included Green River, Lodi, Lookin' out my back door, Born on the Bayou, Have you ever seen the rain, Midnight Special, Who'll Stop the rain.
