The Smiths ‎– The Queen Is Dead - 5LP box set from 2017 - one of the best releases I own. The remastered original album finally sounds so good after the crappy 2011 digital remasters, the alt/b sides are wonderful and the live album is amazing.  and perfect pressing by Optimal.

Kylie Minogue

Disco

Limited Edition Deluxe Bonus track edition

2 x 45 rpm Marbled Blue Vinyl

(looks more like swirls to me)

anyway...............this was another "eat noodles for a month" purchase coz I missed out on the initial private sale run of this so had to go through third party as it sold out pretty much instantly being exclusive.

I wish they would limit the copies people could buy at a time so the music get to the fans at fairer prices and not to the scalpers.......

Another arrival this week.

Their best album imo.

Mofi have done a decent job. I was worried it would be bright but it's not at all.

One of my all time favourites.

Train - drops of Jupiter

Snap! I was playing that exact album on Roon when I logged on to the forum in my home office with Mr Bean coming through the KEF LS50s. I have also taken a bit of a dive and ordered 5 of his earlier LPs direct from his website (inlcuding this one) so great to hear @metal beat that you reckon his back catalogue is excellent.   I am taken by his simple but beautiful style.

@awty, off topic but your record player looks nothing short of amazing and very organic.  I don't suppose you have some information or other photos of it on another thread?

Cheers

PS. If you like the Triffids you might want to try the song "Cannonball" by Bad Dreems (an Adelaide band), with the great line: "Boss is on the radio, he keeps callin' but he can't get though, I put the Triffids on the stereo, feel a whole lot better ... "

Good choice Kevin. I have several of his and not a dud in my collection.

Endless numbered days is my fav.

Last night, influenced by a little scotch, I started with this:

AC/DC's "Ballbreaker" 2009 remaster, German pressing. As you may have guessed, I love this album! I usually play the title track more than once.....:thumb:

AC/DC - Ballbreaker - Amazon.com Music

Followed by this: AC/DC's "Power Up", German pressing:

Today, a change of direction. Dixie Dregs "Dregs Of The Earth" US 1st pressing.

Dregs - Dregs of the Earth - Amazon.com Music

Followed by this and currently spinning: Dixie Dregs "Unsung Heroes" German 1st pressing. I refuse to call them 'The Dregs'.

Thanks. There was a build thread, but its probably lost in the ancient archives.

Bad dreams sound good, liked dumb idea. Lost contact with local music sometime in the 90's, so always interested in something new to me.

Iron & Wine ‎– The Creek Drank The Cradle -  inspired by @KRSDarwin to pull this out after a few years for a spin. :thumb:    His back catalogue is excellent.

Calexico / Iron And Wine ‎– Years To Burn is a great collaboration.

Shepherd's Dog would be my current favourite.

Philip Selway‎– Familial - 2010 - imo the best solo album from any Radiohead member, including Thom. amazing recording and perfect pressing and unlike anything you would expect from any member of Radiohead - almost like a current day Nick Drake.   5 stars.
