cheekyboy
I guess I'm in the mood for Jennifer Warnes. This is her 2018 release Another Time, Another Place and is another stunning recording, this time on Impex label. Nearly all covers here and she shows her country roots at times too...................highly recommended if you're a Jenny Warnes fan.

scuzzii
I've heard the Japanese one - superb. @Doppelganger has it. From memory it was best in a shoot-out we did
scuzzii
morning Rock Stars.... last night's menu. All excellent pressings. Was slight underwhelmed with REM, but it was late and I was onto my 2nd btl of red by then. You+Me is Pink and Dallas Green (from City and Colour) - great acoustic based album. Very similar to City and Colour in approach/sound. Sudan Archives and a cracker as well. Enjoyed them all though https://www.discogs.com/UNKLE-The-Road-Part-I/release/10666381 https://www.discogs.com/YouMe-Rose-Ave/release/6873440 https://www.discogs.com/Jeff-Tweedy-Together-At-Last-Loft-Acoustic-Session-I/release/10471997 https://www.discogs.com/Fat-Freddys-Drop-Blackbird/release/4684865 https://www.discogs.com/Queens-Of-The-Stone-Age-Songs-For-The-Deaf/release/14423243 https://www.discogs.com/Methyl-Ethel-Triage/release/13221375 https://www.discogs.com/Sudan-Archives-Athena/release/14336761 https://www.discogs.com/REM-Monster/release/14343660 https://www.discogs.com/Half-Moon-Run-A-Blemish-in-the-Great-Light/release/14660205 https://www.discogs.com/Kenny-Burrell-Midnight-Blue/release/3720390 8
H.E. Pennypacker
Too tired to play this last night (new purchase)... It makes for excellent listening, and fills in many blanks where I’m not prepared to drop $200 on a NM first press of an album I don’t like of his (I love some of his complete albums, others are garbage and some just a song or two I like). This was made by copying the tracks from the masters to 30ips tapes - essentially a best of that’s a from a second gen master tape. SQ is their main focus. Nice one

Nice one It’s my first classic... Never avoided them, just always had a MoFi/AP/1st press option for less when they’ve had something I wanted, and I have plenty of MoFi and AP - The Classic just as good, which I expected... really really good job on this. It’s not often an AAA best of sounds any good, and this sounds like a collection of 1st press quality. I have the CD of it too, which is easily had for $5 and mastered properly for those who can’t justify the $ on it. H.E. Pennypacker
My other purchase from yesterday - love the Albini version - more punk! Easily has brand new for $60-$70 (destroying the Brickwall MOV/BIB/Simply Vinyl or whatever it is at JB) for any Nirvana fans.

cheekyboy
Jennifer Warnes - The Well on Impex label. 3LP 45rpm. Another absolutely stunning recording, but for me and probably many here, some of the tracks can be quite poignant.

H.E. Pennypacker
Damn this is a trip... Tool fans should get on this... I can’t say it would be enough for me to get the vinyl (this is a loaner from @BuzzzFuzzz - who can tell you more than “the band’s name is Om”) but I will definitely be streaming it in the future. Don’t know much about them TBH but I saw them live in here few years back as I like some Bryan Ferry music. This album is quite nice and Avalon is my favourite. So enjoy it H
H.E. Pennypacker
^okay - I f***ing hate Roxy Music... I recognised track one as everything I hate about the ‘80s... ...It’s beautifully recorded though - so I placed it in a brand new MoFi sleeve alongside the original sleeve for @BuzzzFuzzz upon his collection of it and put the last loaner of his on... and it f***ing rocks!!! Please provide the Discogs link so I can buy exactly this one!!! Edited February 8, 2020 by furtherpale
