Indeed it should, your wife is a very astute woman! Have you decided which port to fill it with yet? Kies winery at Lyndoch make some very nice keg port. I've just refilled my 9 litre keg with it.

When I first bought my keg, I kept topping it up with any port I could find. That didn't really turn out too well though. The taste kept changing but it never really developed any smoothness. So, after a while I emptied it and decided to just keep on topping it up with one brand of port. That has worked out quite well, its really tasting good now.

As a matter of fact, I filled it up using Kies Bastardo port! Kies is only about 30min from our place so it is a frequent stopping place for our wine and port. They also make a nice white wine.

I bought my wife a bottle of the White Muskat. Its a light sweet port.

The Tawny is a thick strong port and the Bastardo is somewhere in between! Most people seem to like it :)

Currently drinking 'Climbing' Shiraz 2006 by Cumulus Wines. About $18 a bottle here in Canberra.

It's made from grapes grown at high altitudes near Orange and has won quite few awards.

They also do Cab-Sauvs and Cab-Merlots.

When I went to Kies, I think they had two choices of keg port, so I bought the more aged one and refilled my keg with it. Sipping on some now, and its tasting pretty good.

Haven't tried the Bastardo though (like the name!), must give it a try sometime.

Coffee.

I can't commumicate via keyboard after a few wines.

It is a medically proven fact that the tips of your fingers increase

exponentially in size the more you drink.

two hands are my 2nd favourite winery after torbreks.

it was at bathers pavillion and about 100 turned up.david powell was there, the food was excellent,4 courses,8 wines and $160 each.have been buying their wine since we first tried the 2001 juveniles at tetsuya's years ago and that was the beginning of the end.

l dont know Torbeks at all Guru, l will have to try a few of their wares. Two Hands is consistently bloody good, l know when l buy one of theirs that l will not be disappointed and that cannot be said for a lot of the other labels. And then of course there is Two Hands "For love or money" Cane cut Semillon, one of the most amazing wine experiences at any price.

Cheers

just went and checked the vintage ,2003 cane cut semillon ,amazing when we tasted it.

when you go to torbrek there is the standard $5 charge which is negated if you buy a bottle but you taste the rande including les amis and runrig, at $200 and $275 a bottle. the juvenilles for $25 is a brilliant food wine as is the 2008 vigioner and if they have any,the celts,a shiraz made by david and his sons on a small plot by the cellar door.david used to wook as a lumberjack in scotland and all the wine names have a celtic link.

regards,g.

How could you think a 1999 magnum would be past its best date in 10 years?

They mature on average 60% slower than normal bottles. As long as its kept still, cool and on its side.

5 years at Vintage Cellars during uni.. might post a photo of my collection later
