Celebrating 34th wedding anniversary today. Took the day off to cook for princess given we are still wearing masks ,so why go out when I can cook up a treat at home and wine list is cool.

Our Annual Wine of the Year dinner was last night. Everyone brings a wine they think could be a contender....8 of us were in attendance and we held this at Aria restaurant, a 10 course degustation mat

Xmas lunch with the family, could be a magnum sort of day...??   Merry Xmas fellow wine lovers.....????

A Beautiful setting and lovely image. Wine in the glass colours just pop!  ?

That is extremely kind of you to comment, thanks!

Replying also gives me a chance to note that the JaJa really improved the next day into a lovely drop, the sweetness was less prominent and the wine seemed to have gained weight.

I will surely decant it next time, since I have a doz of 'em purchased from Winestar at a bargain price.

Well played. A nice stop over on the way to Portarlington! Must refresh my palate with that winery. Enjoy :)

Actually it was a big detour on the way home to Melbourne coming from hols at Apollo Bay!

Always liked their Pinot and Shiraz, so worth the journey - plus very nice new tasting cellar and bistro.

We had a big night out yesterday for dinner, and one too many bottles of wine -so everyone moped around drinking water while l attempted hair of the dog! Unfortunately  it didn’t really work, but food and wine were very good. ?

Did you like the Quintarelli? An edgy style I really like. If you did, then down the rabbit hole you go... Bec and I are drinkin 'out west' tonight - Cape Mentelle Grenache 2017; a great bottle of wine but not that 'Grenachy'. Good mate is working there and we did some swaps. Their standard Syrah 2017 is very good. Loved their Walcliffe SSB too.

Yes, loved the Quintarelli, and yes, down the rabbit hole I go, in fact going to blow the wine allowance on more tomorrow.

Financially poorer but spiritually richer ?

Say hi to Bec and hope vintage is going well.

Funny, but we are visiting the Vale tonight, Brash’s Omensetter 2010.

Soz for lowering the tone

Smirnoff Double Black - not usually a premix drinker but spying this in the fridge i thinks why not.  I like the appearance of the can, but disappointed by the taste. For me it's too close to lemonade with the alcohol (6.5%) failing to cut through and despite the look not refreshing.

Highland Park 18 Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Orkey Islands, Scotland.
43% alc. 99/100

Although I have some dearer and rarer scotches in my collection, this dram is the most well balanced and still puts a smile on my face, a personal favourite.

Sunday night, fiddling with gear and new music on the TT from Beirut and an older one from Nick Cave and after a nice pork rib roast on the Weber consumed with a white for them and a red for me and then sidling back into my room it was a pleasure to have a glass of this.1658496817_IMG_20210314_2111438431.thumb.jpg.017ee0fed7656b0e173608a0df635aef.jpg Second glass now with Beirut doing their funny type of music in the background.

*Hey, congrats on the election over there too in Sandgroper Land, WD. He's done an excellent job I think.

**Has a rather big footprint(nice way to say it has depth and kicks) this RWT. Was given to me after a recent stone retaining wall job.

Never tried before and don't think it comes from the bargain bin(haven't googled it ).

TGIF........

I don’t drink a lot of Australian Shiraz these days but this is really good.

If you know Torbreck The Laird, it comes from a few special rows from the Gnadenfrei Church vineyard block, this is very close to that.

The concentration and density is quite something.

@Chanh. @mtf @rockeater............I have more stashed ??❤️
