Our Annual Wine of the Year dinner was last night. Everyone brings a wine they think could be a contender....8 of us were in attendance and we held this at Aria restaurant, a 10 course degustation mat

Chilling at home this arvo-washing records,  giving them a spin, doing some cooking and oh, a few beverages ......keeping Mrs Mendes amused.....🙏🥂🍷🍻

Started with some southern Tassie Chardonnay and now enjoying some smoked beef shorties with a few glasses of damn nice 2012 McLaren Vale Shiraz.  Cheers all 🤙

These are two of our favourite reds from the last several years, just stunning - we used to send a bottle with every pair of speakers we sold.

That Arras is phenomenal - I think it will be elevated to our 2021 promo choice.

Some friends for lunch.

Seppelt Premium Cuvee NV - slightly aged character

Winstead Block 16 Pinot Noir 2017 - medium-full bodied pinot from Tas

Lindemans St Georges Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 1980 - from the museum part of my cellar - fantastic old wine.

Chateau Coutet 2008 - had it several times before - showing no signs of age

The St Georges was exceptional.  Only the slightest tawny edge, otherwise a black-red colour.  Still fruit, esters and complex nose.  Full rich palate which is often missing from ancient wines.  On closer inspection of the label the wine won the Jimmy Watson, another trophy and 11 gold.  Certainly one of the best of my "museum" wines.

Mrs Mendes was a legend last night driving Sergio to and fro on New Year’s Eve so time to repay her tonight by cooking and pulling the corks on a couple of her favourites.

Happy wife, happy life.....🙏😂😍❤️

It was a surprise free gift in an order a few years ago. Great quality, and always comes out when I open Rockford.
