Cloth Ears 1,250
Drought broken on Friday night. Mrs CE liked the "Bloodzilla" and "a month of sundaes", but found the other two a little dry. And I had my first of these while watching the footy. Very nice but I think it'll be better in a few years.
Cloth Ears 1,250
Popped the cork on this one on Saturday. Very nice. Smooth and fruity and super long palate. Sure am glad there's a couple more left!
Cloth Ears 1,250
Had this while cooking up the pork belly, very nice but a little sharp at present. If I can find any more I'll see if I can keep them for half a year to allow the hops to meld more with the rest. IF... And this went really nicely with the pork, thank you!
aechmea 1,174
Another museum wine bites the dust. This is the last of a mixed dozen vintages bought in 1990 ($11.80). Probably can't afford to buy any recent vintages. Chenin Blanc from the Loire. A walled vineyard (Clos) and a label/maker with reputation. Like the Burgundy Grand Crus and classified Bordeaux growths they don't have a reputation for nothing. Even has its own appellation - one of 3 vineyards in France. As with many/most/all old wines it is really just the structural elements left after all these years. Very good though all the same. I remember them as great wines in their day. [Not really as dark as the picture which has picked up the colour of the bricks and wood.]

Using these as our everyday glassware as we have been breaking too many Zalto Universals of late. These are very similar to the Zalto’s and much more durable. I prefer Zalto but just being pragmatic. 🙏🍷🍷 A review from the lovely Madeline below. https://winefolly.com/episode/we-tested-5-of-the-worlds-best-wine-glasses/ Edited October 7, 2020 by Mendes . But for anything over 14.5%, or 'really big', or not important enough, I'll go with our Angove glasses. They're not perfect, but they're nice and big. And they work with everything except bubbles. Should I start a thread on what glasses people use for whisky? And wine? And beer? Three separates, or one altogether? Hmmm...lucky I'm supposed to be working!
