My Well Tempered Classic needs a service.

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm looking for someone in the Sydney area that knows how to service one of these. Any suggestions?

Cheers Ian.

Ideally someone who knows the nuances of one of these tables would be great but i suppose a TT is a TT. Who's the guru for you? I may be looking for a tonearm rewire.

Thanks for the PM. I'll give Johnathan a call at Dynavector.

It needs a service the tonearm wires are loose on one rca, I'd like the goo changing and the azimuth screw is loose. I also feel the bias is not right. So a full fluid change maybe a rewire and then a full set up.

Loose wires on a RCA will probably just need a re-solder to recconect them, if I understand you problem correctly.  It's not a justification for a re-wire, unless you want to upgrade the interconnects to a better quality while you are at it.

I'm not sure what people are doing with keeping or changing the wires in this tonearm and i hope the distributor can advise . I'm getting some feedback through one channel and hum through both. The goo in the pot is 10,000cst but i now know it should be 100,000 so would like it so. The azimuth should be an easy fix but the bias i have no idea. When i have had it on song it has sounded superb but always felt it had more up its sleeve. Also i can feel a vibration coming through the rubber wheel on the motor when its running. I have a new belt ready to put on when it's all done and may mug myself to a decent Dynavector if i can be persuaded.........

I've just spoken to Jonathan Davies at Dynavector who was very, very helpful but was also very, very busy and probably can't get anywhere near my TT until next year! I am tempted to take it to him and just leave it with him until he can get around to it. Any other suggestions? Any one got a spare deck for rent? Lol...
