An original UK 1st pressing of Sticky Fingers

Sounds superb.

This was an interesting one.

I found it at my local record store, Holy Vinyl.

It wasn't cheap, and didn't look in perfect condition , with a few visible scratches  and some scuffing.

Khai, the owner , assured me that it played very well, and was happy for me to take it home to have a listen on my TT before I purchased it. That's bricks and mortar service!

I'm glad I did because the sound was amazing and the scratches had no effect on the sound.

This is the very welcome truth around vintage US and European wax - it may look average, but often plays out of it’s skin! ✔️

Unfortunately the only way to find out is to play it of course.

These 2 arrived earlier this week via discogs.

Original US Mono 1st pressings from 1958 and 1962

In near mint condition - apparently from the record collection of a music industry person from that time.

Great music and the records  play beautifully.

If anyone is interested in this sort of stuff, the seller is KipsCleanGrooves - highly recommended.

Wow! He has some great records for sale. Shame the ones I want all seem to be over $300.

I see he appears to have 5 full sets of 112 Music Matters jazz 45 rpm lps, each US$8500. Need to win lotto first...

Been a little naughty myself. Yes, all those boxes are from Japan.

Does this mean I have an obsession? [emoji32]

Ain't that the truth, I have an early Decca press of Beggers Banquet that has been more "over loved" than abused yet still plays seamlessly and holds its own against new 1/2 speed Abbey Rd press in SQ.

Same label, same era, same condition, same SQ - John Mayall a hard road. I understand how they can sound so good but why are they so robust? breathe on a new album or just getting it out of a glossy paper sleeve (why do they do that) for the first time and tick tick pop fark!
