  1. Hi folks 👋 I've had the Chromecast Audio for some time and am looking for another higher quality solution (won't be upgrading my integrated amplifier to get that functionality). I would like something that will allow me to stream music using my Deezer subscription and FLAC files from my Synology NAS. Are there similar boxes you're using? If so, which ones, and what are the pros and cons? Would love to hear your extended thoughts Thanks, Dan.

  9. Hey, So i have went out and bought a samsung radiant 360 speaker to add as a combination to my samsung soundbar which is currently connecting via the optical in cable to my older Samsung television. What i was wondering is if i could find a way to run both the soundbar and speaker in surround/combination as currently i can get the soundbar to work but as the tv has neither wifi or bluetooth i am struggling to connect it to the tv. I have looked at items such as https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/laser-wifi-adaptor-for-audio-speaker-system-sylwfadptr#!features , http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bluetooth-Transmitter-Sender-Aux-3-5mm-jack-Coaxial-Optical-Toslink-Audio-input-/111658526665?hash=item19ff5de7c9:g:FgIAAOSwA3dYgYb5#shpCntId and https://www.amazon.com/Nolan-Bluetooth-Wireless-Transmitter-Receiver/dp/B00IYUI0W8 Would any of these work and which would be best if so? Thank you.
  10. I am wondering how much I can do over a wi fi and Ethernet over power. I have moved into another rental where I plan to be for the next 6 years. There are a few issues: Rental - landlord does not want to spend money. I want to spend as little as possible Double story Not many powerpoints No LAN points I don't want wires to run outside walls etc. Switchboard has no space for expansion -maybe I will spend some money here as it is on the other side of the wall where hifi etc is. The good thing is that I have 4 telephone points so I have a choice where I put my modem and router - but that is not close to the hifi. I already run a NAS, router and have a good switch. I am already streaming to TV's etc using ipads, iphones, mac mini's and apple TV's. And I already have some powerboards/conditioners that should sort out some of the nasties caused by SMP's etc. I want to: have a TV in several rooms regardless of an available antenna point and be able to watch any channel on it (in other words I dont want to install antenna and power points in every room. listen to music from my NAS, spotify etc via WiFi or Ethernet over power install a few wireless cameras lights etc. ensure that the wifi or ethernet over power is as good as a wired connection for music over hifi. I am not fussed with the latest 4K, UHD etc. HD is enough for me. Previously I used something like this for video. It is an extender - it works for one tv at a time. What options are there? Advice will be appreciated. Thanks

  12. Hi Everyone, My new LG Smart UHD TV drops wifi connection exactly after 1 hour. I have tested this a couple of times and it is 1 hour. I then go to 'network' option and reconnect the internet on the TV. (All the other devices connected to wifi works absolutely fine). I mostly watch Youtube and Stan app on the TV. I am currently with Telstra Bigpond and use the Technicolour TG587n V3 modem/router. Is this the router issue or the wifi hardware on tv?
  13. Hi Everyone, Got the LG 55UH652T (Ultra HD TV) over the weekend and hooked it up on the wall. Setup was a breeze and the TV connected to the wifi instantly and the picture and sound are fantastic! For the last three days, while watching Youtube or Stan for a hour or so on the TV, the app stops responding and I get "you are not connected to the internet" error. I went to network settings to see the TV is still 'connected' to my wifi but the internet doesnt work for any app including Freeview. (I checked other devices like my ipad, iphone and the wifi is working fine). I click on it, it forgets my network. I click on it again and type the password and it connects instantly and the internet on starts working fine. The router is in the same room as the TV. Its approx. 4-5 meters away with no obstruction. I called LG support today from work and they asked me to 'reset the router'. I dont understand why I have to do that as the router is working fine! They also asked switch on the personal hotspot on the mobile phone and connect the TV to that to see if it gets disconnected (I am actually trying that now). This is crap as the TV is kind of using all my mobile data!! The support rep advised if the TV wifi doesn't disconnect then there is an issue with you internet network. If not then I can call them again to request for a technician to come in. I dont feel it is correct as i have never had issues with my Internet connection (i am with Telstra). The TV is 3 days old and I hate the fact that I have to go through this..... Any advice? Suggestions? Thanks

  15. Hi all, We're looking to buy a TV for our bedroom. It will be mounted in the top corner of the room on a swivel bracket. When we built the house I thought to get a double power point put in, but no ethernet cabling. I'm keen to stream movies from our PC at the other end of the house onto the TV and was wondering whether there are any TVs out there around the 32" size that have been proven to have decent performance. The key criteria are: ability to connect wirelessly and stream movies; ability to play a range of file types. I realise that a WD player is going to give me everything I need, but the catch is I would need to mount it on the wall behind the TV somehow, which could be problematic, if not impossible, due to space restrictions in the corner. Has anyone had any experience with a TV that offers this capability? Any suggestions, or alternative solutions, are much appreciated! Andrew.
