Hi, I am new to this forum , or any forum for that matter. Hello and thank you in advance for your help. We, my wife and I, are trying to build a system for under $4000 Australian Dollars. Unexciting to many of you but, for us the speakers have become a major stumbling block for us. "The Uninformed". The "Uninformed", have it down to the following choices. KEF Q900 B&W 683 S2 Wharfedale Diamond 10.7 The B&W cost will compromise all else however we did like the sound. The thought is perhaps we can add improvements at a later date, build on it if we have decent speakers. The KEF are only a new addition. The reviews I have read are fairly good. The Wharfdale is difficult to find any negative comment at the price point. Unfortunately they are also difficult to listen to in Brisbane. They will be used for general listening in a large room. All styles of music, from Classic to Metal are appreciated in our house. Plus, almost everything in between. The Wharfdale's keep coming up because it is hard to find a negative review at the price. If you have any questions please ask. We may also need to have suggestions on a suitable Amp to power them. The "Uninformed" thank you for any help you can provide. I would also like any advice regarding warranty issues with any of these items. Please do not suggest other speakers. I am hoping for opinions and or "Informed" suggestions on the above. We wish to buy new and from within Australia due to previous, shall we call them, experiments. Thanks, M&D.
