  1. Further information: I imported this from the UK around 12 years ago. Other than testing it is essentially unused. As seen from the internal pics this could have come off the factory line yesterday. I have not seen another version like this with BBC notations and additional transformer on the side of the unit to provide what is likely native balanced mono output. Of course real enthusiasts will use this unit with an mpx decoder for superior results and stereo output. Photos:

  3. Hey Guys, I just picked up some Pioneer DSS-9's on a whim with little prior reading. They seem to be in very good condition, and the sound absolutely blows my B & W 683s2's out of the water. Is there much love for vintage pioneer over here on SNA? The sound, clarity, imaging, bass.... These may be end-game speakers... Anyone else heard these before? Anyone else have some, or other vintage pioneer stuff? Chime in! Ben

  5. Four Tops - Night Lights Harmony US 1975 OG in sealed condition (ABC Records - ABCD-862) M/M SEALED!! No hole punches, corner cuts, etc. Gorgeous cover is as new. "Very smooth soul album from the vocal quartet filled with some upbeat and down beat gems. Hardly any disco in this album if any, mostly funk and slow jams. Definitely no disappointment in this release". Nice vintage US rarity. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Delivery Methods: NO PICKUPS SORRY - ma
  6. Further information: this is actually a pl-41a which looks identical to the Pl50 The pl-41a is a manual deck with a very good fairly heavy tonearm, with no anti skate. In very good Nic- excellent but a chip in wood at the front( see photos) . These decks sell for $500 on eBay. cool features: lid can be held up by a fitted metal piece arm lift and drop are controlled from a lever at the front arm drop has a speed control cartridge has very low hours ( i can also remove or sell separately) belts are still available for this it also has a
  7. Further information: As the original first owner of this stereo amp I have all the manuals, remote control, original box, etc. I have enjoyed it's powerful, controlled detailed sound for years, but need to sell it to fund a new amp. The amp was extremely well cared for and is in perfect condition from a smoke free home. A few years ago Yamaha took a superior approach to an analogue amplifier design and this high performance amplifier inherits the high sound quality design of the A-S2000 which is a bonus at this price range. The amp has simple controls with plenty of ana
  8. Further information: Kinshaw Electronics - Overture, British Designed & Quality Built Vintage DAC. Very warm and open analogue sound for a DAC. I’m not sure of the specifications of this DAC however it is in perfect working order. 9. Further information: These speakers require no introduction. Tannoy Ardens in beautiful condition. Bought a few months ago to try them with my McIntosh 601s and C2500 tube preamp. Brilliant speakers and these do what they do best. Jazz and female vocals are sublime. The 15 inch HPD 385 definitely moves a lot of air. I have since bought a few more things to try and should move these unfortunately to create space and cover $$$ for my other purchases. Someone will be really happy. Photos:

  11. Up for sale is some nice vintage Luxman gear. A great buy for someone wanting quality gear and top tier sound at an affordable price without breaking the bank. I am looking to sell both the Luxman 507x Integrated Amplifier and the Luxman PD-370 Turntable together and have priced these items as a pairing. I do not want to seperate the items unless there is confirmed interest and a buyer or buyers for both items. The integrated amplifier has two MM phono inputs which is very handy. I had bought these a couple of years ago from sna member SteveM and was using

  14. Further information: Excellent clear sound, Tested a couple of years ago by Duratone HiFi with full marks. 15. DELIVERY ANYWHERE IN AUS is included in bulk price. Charles Mingus - Presents The Charles Mingus Quartet Featuring Eric Dolphy 1971 SEALED vintage original US Barnaby reissue (Z 30561) VG++/Mint Recorded at Nola Penthouse Sound Studios, NYC, October 20th 1960 You could buy the Jazz Images recent repress and be bitterly disappointed, or grab a more reasonably priced 70's take like this one supervised by Jon Waxman, which probably had close to the Master tapes at hand? Some edgewear through the shrink (knocks), else the factory plastic is tight and the journey
  16. Further information: This is a sensational pair of Australian made monitors. I could wax lyrical about how great they are, but you can just read pete_mac's listing of a similar pair from a few years ago to understand how highly regarded these are -> If pete_mac says they are good, you know it's true.. Cosmetically, note these items: The cabinets are in VGC overall with just a few minor marks. One rear corner has a small ding. (see pic) If you have the time and patience, these cabinets would look amazing if you removed all the drivers then sand and re-stain
  17. Further information: This is a sweet little Denon tuner from around 1979-80 which was produced to match the SA-3900 amp. These units are very rare, and different from other Denon units of the same era - note the different logo and fonts on the faceplate. This tuner has a few scratches around the power switch, but all lights and the VU meters work. The tuner section is decent and will pick up stations with just bare speaker wire. The AM antenna is intact. There's some info on The Vintage Knob about the 3900 pair. SA-3900 & ST-3900 Note: t
  18. Further information: This is a really nice tuner from Pioneer's 1979-1982 fluoroscan series. It is super sensitive, picking up FM signals with just speaker wire. There are a few minor marks on the faceplate, but the pictures make them look worse than they are. The AM antenna is intact. If you own a 508, 608 or 708 amp, this tuner looks great alongside them. I've included a net picture as an example. Note: The Denon tuner in the picture is available in a separate listing. Photos: PLEASE READ If you are advertising multiple item
  19. Further information: I love this amp, but it is currently housed in my man cave and is not getting the attention it deserves. It should be with someone who will use it every day. It is a damn fine piece of machinery and happily drives pretty demanding speakers. It has that typical 1970s Kenwood sound – punchy, a bit forward, but never harsh or shrill. It got a write up at the Vintage Knob – so you know it has cred! http://www.thevintageknob.org/kenwood-KA-8100.html Have a look at a model 600 Supreme from 1975 and you will discover that the design philosophy of t
  20. Further information: OK, this one hurts..... This was my first foray into hi-fi and has travelled with me for many years. It is just plain gorgeous to look at and sounds a treat. It has that warm Marantz sonic signature, but never laid back and boring. Offers 30w per channel with inputs for tape, phono and AUX. Bass, Treble AND Mid controls. Each control is nicely stepped, as is the volume control. The tuner section is excellent too - very sensitive and picks up stations with a strong signal. Wheel has a nice weight to it. AM antenna
  21. Further information: I've owned this amp for a few years and it has always brought a smile to my face. It looks stunning and sounds amazing. Crazy amount of power on tap (110w into 8 ohms / 130 into 6). Side panels are custom made with high gloss Jarrah varnish - they really add to the presentation of this amp. There is a bit of pitting on the top of the amp, but a light sand and re-spray will make it look great. No major marks on the faceplate other than a small visible scratch to the top left of the Function Selector knob. It is a hefty 18kgs
  22. Item: Pioneer SX-408 Stereo Receiver Location: Monbulk, Vic Price: $50 Item Condition: Cosmetically 9/10 (mint) - it has no distortion when turning knobs, it's as clean inside as it is out, signal meter and lights work, only issue is it only has sound on the right channel, nothing at all from the left channel. Reason for selling: Clearing out my collection in preparation for interstate move later this year. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Pick up only, I only have time to post at work, and work don't like me posting items at all, so unless you're offering a f
  23. Further information: For sale is my Marantz PM-5. I have since gone down the valve route and need to move this amp on I purchased this second hand from Audio Connection approx. 3 years and I have loved it. Love the VU meters that dances along to the music (all working 100%) and the sound is huge and powerful. It switches from Class A (20 wattts) to Class AB (80 watts) via a button on the front although I have mainly ran it in Class A. Has lots of inputs including 2 phono (one with MC), preamp out and individual left and right tone controls. It also has a stunning
  24. Picked up a small old radiogram on the weekend, gutted it (was partially gutted already) tidied it up a bit and put my old Pioneer (SX-440) in there PS: My Kilpsch bookshelves did just fit in there too, but sounded crap, so pulled them back out and made some DIY stands for them instead
  25. Further information: Selling for a friend in Melbourne. Described as the Maltese Falcon of vintage JBL, these L212s are without the subwoofer, but sound so good they don't really need it, superb tweeters and fantastic midrange, with original grill covers, included is 3m of Belden speaker cable, good condition for age. Pickup in Sunshine, Melbourne OK. Photos:
