Item: Rotel RCD-911 CD player (my personal one) Location: Perth Price: $799 Shipping over East to capital cities $29 fully insured. Item Condition: Excellent, almost as new. Reason for selling: Need money. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Direct transfer Extra Info: For those who do not know what this CD player is, brief explanation; This is top of the range Rotel filled with top quality parts and in such concentration, that normally you just cannot find it anywhere, even in the best brands. It is not for tinkerers as all the tinkering has been already done at the factory: 1. DAC - Burr-Brown PCM-63P (x 2) - best DAC of the day and still one of the best, surrounded by Rubycon Black Gate capacitors (pic 4) 2. Pacific Microsonics PMD100 HDCD decoder chip and Nichicon Find Gold capacitors (pic 5) 3. Power supply; Nichicon Great Supply 4700µF capacitors (pic 6) and ridiculously oversized, 2" tall transformer with 5 secondaries (pic 7) 4. Output stage; Burr-Brown OPA2604AP op-amps with Nichicon Muse (top-of-the-line) caps (pic 8) These ordinary looking red MKP caps are German WIMA. 5. Balanced output 6. Adjustable dither 7. Switchable digital output; both S/PDIF (coaxial) and Toslink (optical). Inside, this is the best looking piece of electronics I have seen in over 30 years of working in the field of electronics. Although admittedly some Marantz KI units look flashier due to their "copper" chassis - they do not compare as quality components are scarce there. This has been my personal CD player since new, for over 15 years and I have paid for it (then) A$1200 (RRP was $1499). Box, manual, remote, receipt all available. 12 month warranty for local purchasers - same as for all of my items offered for sale here. Pictures:
