  4. Item: Karmadon 12 inch tonearm wired with Cardas Clear Location: Canberra Price: $600 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Too many tonearms Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, bank transfer, Seller pays postage Extra Info: This is the 12 inch version of the Karmadon tonearm built by Gray Research tonearm specialist Serge Rogozyansky with the same geometry and silicon damping system used in the famous and sought after Gray Research 108 (I also owned). This arm is better. The arm was rewired with a single run of expensive Cardas Clear from cartridge clips (Cardas) to Eichmann phono plugs by the manufacturer. The arm is normally not terminated and only has a short run of lower grade wiring exiting the arm. I have used the arm on and off for the last 12 months. It sounds extraordinary, besting arms that cost 10x more. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  6. Hi All, I have just taken delivery of a Kenwood KP-9010. I love these beasts, I also have a KP-7010 and a KP-1100 (soon). I know I don't need to tell anyone here what happens when you get hooked on one particular brand or model The 9010 has just arrived and essentially it's in beautiful condition and generally speaking operates flawlessly. you know there's a "but" coming... But, the tonearm lift mechanism is not working as it should. My 7010 lifts and lowers very smoothly but this 9010 drops the tonearm like a stone. It's less than subtle. I've read through a service manual for a similar turntable but there's nothing specific about the mechanical servicing of this component. I'm just wondering if anyone on Stereo.net has had any experience with this particular fault on these Kenwoods or might have some suggestions please? And I'm sorry there's no pics, in my excitement yesterday when it arrived I spent all my time setting up the tonearm, headshell and cartridge and then listening to records I simply forgot. I'll post some pics tonight, I promise.

Currently is on my Technics sp10 mkii which I’m going to sell too . I found this way is easier to sell than a whole set up as more affordable . All are original cable and head shell /booklet as photos . Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  9. Hi All, A friend who owns an original Rega P3 asked me if it’s possible to get a replacement tonearm? I don’t know what happened to the original but What’s the recommendation or is it more “price” sensible to purchase a new tt & arm (perhaps a new Rega)? thoughts are appreciated.

  13. Item: OL Alliance- awesome tonearm and works nicely as an upgrade to many mid level TTs that suffer from cheap budget arms Location: Sydney Price: $250 firm plus postage, rrp is approx $500. Item Condition: very good, comes with all packaging and box for travel, the manual and mounting kit. (No cart and no turntable as in picture.) Reason for selling: i switched out to an arm that is made by my tt manufacturer to get the right geometry, as TT arm board is non Rega and should be 5mm shorter. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, eft Extra Info: I can only concur with the reviews, it’s an upgrade arm for many decks with Rega geometry, that punches well above its weight. I have been v happy with it on a $4k Wilson Benesch turntable but I am unsure how the lessor 5mm sounds, which is the difference of Rega and WB specs. Google the OL arm , but I can’t find any negative reports and it bests the equivalent Rega arms. Here is some review info https://www.originlive.com/hi-fi/tonearm/budget-tonearm-alliance/ Pictures:

These sell for up to $370, but I am happy to take $200 which is at the low end of the spectrum. Postage will be $15 in Eastern States, a little more more for out west, and I will donate $10 to Stereonet Pictures:

Payment method: Pickup – cash or bank transfer Extra Info: Purchased a near new Michell Gryo SE from Modular Audio in Singapore in August 2015 and it was configured with this tonearm and a Benz Wood SL cart. Enjoyed this configuration immensely and in Feb 2017 had the Turntable Doctor professionally re-wire the arm wire in 99.999% silver at a cost of $350. Complete with original box, manual, and alignment template. Unit is 100% working and cosmetically in very good condition. 18. Item: AT 1100 tonearm Location: Canbera Price: 350 Item Condition: needs some work Reason for selling: no needed Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: these tonearms sell for $500–$700 however requires some work. This should be relatively easy for a technicaly skilled person ( unlike me) 1.the tonearm is missing the locking screw that fixes the pipe in place. I think a tech person could fix something fir this, or you could just glue it on place. Its a very short screw. Pictures:
  19. Item: Rega RB101 tonearm Location: Perth Price: SOLD Item Condition: Lots of chips in the paintwork but no dents Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This has been rewired with litz wire but cable length is only 50cm from the base of the arm. The magnetic anti-skate is annoying in that it slips from its setting but can held in place with a spot of blu-tac. Also please note the rivet that has replaced the original tonearm lifter. But this is a quality arm, the only area it seemed deficient in was bass. Pictures:

  25. Howdy all, not sure if this should be here or in the "Beginners & Purchasing Advice" section, please feel free to move if it is more suitable there. Roughly four and a half months ago I purchased Betty the SL120 : Betty and I have shared some amazing moments together in our short time, as such I feel she deserves a special treat. All silliness aside, I have just purchased an Ortofon 2M Blue to replace the cart that came with the TT and I am now considering upgrading the tonearm. I am wondering if this is a worthwhile investment and if so where a good starting point would be, and I suppose as a secondary question would I be better off spending the money somewhere else in the system? I am not sure how relevant all the other info is but here is the system as it stands: - SL120 Fitted with an SL1200 MK II arm - Ortofon OM ProS (About to be replaced with the OM2 Blue) - Yamaha AX-497 Amplifier (Using the amps built in phono stage) - Dali Concept 6 and B&W DM602 S3s (Currently having a shoot out between the speakers to decide which stays) I understand that with the new cart, a tonearm would see me spending well over what the TT cost me to begin with however there is something about the old Technics TTs that appeals to me. Any suggestions and/or advice appreciated. Cheers, Terry
