  1. For our November club meeting we are very pleased to have Morris Swift and Brad Serhan of Serhan+Swift present to the club. (Note that our usual EOY BBQ is at 1:00, followed by our AGM at 2:00. The S+S presentation will start soon afterwards.) Details of the system… Speakers – an "analog active" version of the Serhan+Swift MU2 speaker. A central box houses the amplifiers and analog active crossovers. The active components are thus separated from the speakers to keep vibration and stray magnetic fields away from the electronics, while keeping heat out of the speaker itself. There is no DSP involved in the signal handling. Note that this is a prototype model and still under development. Oppo BDP-105D – source for Morris’ presentation and our BYO session. The second half of the music sessions will be our popular BYO. Members and guests are welcome to offer music to share with us all. So bring along your favourite music on CD/SACD or USB thumb/flash drives (sorry, no vinyl). We MAY have some R2R tape in as well – TBD. All we ask is that the music and recordings be interesting. We'll ask you to tell us a little about the artist/recording before it is played. Tracks over 6 minutes will be faded out, to give everyone a fair go. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others. Feel free to come and hear the capabilities of the system, or to just share the experience with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Guests are welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound. Venue: Epping Creative Centre, Dence Park Address: 26 Stanley Road, Epping When: Sunday 17th November 2019 Doors open 1pm Meeting starts at 2pm Tom Waters President Sydney Audio Club W: http://www.sydneyaudioclub.org/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/sydneyaudioclub E: tomwaters@sydneyaudioclub.org.au
  2. Item: Swift GK1 pre amp Location: Richmond VIC Price: NLA Item Condition: Reason for selling: Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Swift GK-1 - a bit of a legend hereabouts. designed and built by Hugh Dean with wood sides, grey enamelled top with reflective mirror behind the tubes. Hugh did a limited run of these before deciding that making a commercial product (as opposed to supplying kits) was too stressful. I think they were around $4k. It has a remote. This is an EOI at the moment - another pre I would like might become available. Pictures: if you're interested pm me. http://members.optushome.com.au/russcb/products_preamp_swift.html
