  1. Item: Sugden A21al Series2, 25 watt Pure Class A Integrated Amplifier with MM/MC phono board fitted Location: Melbourne Price: $1950 firm for quick sale Item Condition: Virtually perfect Reason for selling: Too many amps Payment Method: Cash, Paypal, Bank Transfer Extra Info: Handmade in the Sugden factory in Yorkshire, this magical little amp is able to drive my large Monitor Audio Platinum PL-300 speakers (also for sale) to room filling levels. Next to new condition in Titanium finish with remote, manual, all paperwork and original carton for safe postage if necessary. This unit has had an exceptional Sugden phono stage fitted, bringing the original price to $3895. As a single box solution for analogue users, it represents tremendous value , far superior in musicality to anything else I could imagine at this price. With CD and other digital sources, its sweetness makes listening a pleasure, even with speakers as demanding as the Platinums. Happy to demonstrate with vinyl (easily switched MM or MC) or my Accustic Arts CD Player ES mk2 (also for sale). Pictures:
  2. Item: Sugden Masterclass IA-4 Class A Integrated Amplifier Location: Melbourne Item Condition: Immaculate condition, like new. Comes with all the original paperwork, remote, power lead, box and packaging. Price: $4695 (RRP is $9650) or I would consider swapping for a Sugden SPA-4 Power Amp. Reason for selling: I’ve recently change my front end to a server based system and now use a DAC which is also my pre-amp so I don’t need an integrated amp. Payment Methods: Paypal, Cash - Pickup, or Australia Post COD. Extra Info: The IA-4 is a very high quality no nonsense product which is hand made in England. It is a full Class A design with everything focused on sound quality. I use it to drive 86db floor standing speakers and rarely get past 9 o’clock on the volume dial so it truly has plenty of power. Full product details can be found on the Sugden website here: https://www.sugdenaudio.com/ia-4-integrated-amplifier Pictures:
  3. Item: Sugden Masterclass HA-4 Class A Headphone Amplifier Location: Melbourne Item condition: Immaculate condition except for a small scratch underneath at the rear, see pictures. It comes complete with the original paperwork and accessories etc. Price: $1295 (RRP is $2895) Reason for selling: I’ve recently changed to a full server based system and my DAC now doubles as my headphone amp. Payment Methods: Paypal, Cash - Pickup, or Australia Post COD. Extra Info: The HA-4 is a very high quality product hand made in England. It is a full Class A design and capable of driving even the most demanding headphones, I use Bayerdynamic T1’s. It can also act as a high quality pre-amp. Full product details can be found on the Sugden website Pictures:
  4. Hello all, I would like to inform every one of the Sydney Audio Club’s upcoming meetings for anyone who may be interested in attending. Each month I will post a copy of our newsletter highlighting who will be presenting at our next gathering. See post below. All are welcome, so please post here for more info, or see our website for calender dates, www.sydneyaudioclub.org.au/ You don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound. Hope to see you there. Potential Presenters: I’ve been a member of the Sydney Audio Club for over a year now and love it and have recently joined the committee in the role as Events Coordinator. This is a joint role with another committee member whose career background is in Pro Audio. Together we source and organise Home and Pro audio equipment from Distributors, Retailers, Direct to Market Companies, Representatives and our Members, to showcase their gear for the enjoyment of our members and guests at our monthly meetings held at Dence Park Creative Centre in Epping. The Sydney Audio Club offers companies an opportunity to present and demonstrate their equipment to the club. It could be a single piece of kit or an entire system, something new to market or an old favourite. Also we have recently updated our website to list our presenters over the last 12 months in the public area. Anyone interested in offering and presenting any gear at our future meetings, feel free to contact myself for further discussions. Meetings are on Sundays and openings are available from Feb 2013.
  5. The September 2012 meeting of the Sydney Audio Club sees us once again at Dence Park for an afternoon of fine music and sound and convivial company. Each month, the Sydney Audio Club presents the finest in high end audio systems for our members and guests. It's a bit like a private audio show once a month where you can hear and discuss equipment that you might not otherwise have the chance to audition. And you can bring along your own music to test the capabilities of the system or to just share with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. This month we will have a complete system provided by Syntec International (refer to http://www.syntec.com.au). For over 35 years Syntec International has been the Australian and New Zealand distributor for some highly renowned and respected brands of audio equipment. Some of their brands include: Arcam, Bryston, Dynaudio, Lehmann, Manley, MIT, Neumann, Sennheiser and Tangent – to name a few. This month we will have a system comprising Dynaudio and Bryston. The electronics will be a Bryston combo of a 4B-SST power amp, BP26 pre-amp and CD player (please refer to http://www.syntec.com.au/home.php?cat=261). The 4B-SST is a pure dual mono design and offers 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 500 watts into 4 with over 1000 watts available in bridged mode. The speakers will be the Dynaudio C2 (please refer to http://www.dynaudio.com/int/home_loudspeaker_systems/confidence/confidence_c2.php). The C2 is a 1.5 meter tall floorstander. It has two Esotar tweeters and two mid/bass drivers with special Kapton voice coil formers that are perfectly integrated by the advanced crossover to yield a seamlessly balanced yet detailed sound and incredible sound staging. We will also have a Sugden Connoisseur BD-1 turntable, very recently refurbished by a club member. It’s definitely no Transrotor but it reportedly sounds pretty good. It has the Shure V15 Type 3 cartridge. The phono stage will be by Graham Slee. Sorry, no music server this month. For this meeting, both music sessions will be BYO. Members and guests are welcome to offer music to share with us all. So bring along your favourite music on CD and vinyl. All we ask is that the music and recordings be interesting. We'll ask you to tell us a little about the artist/recording before it is played. Tracks over 6 minutes will be faded out, to give everyone a fair go. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others of a similar mind. Members and Guests welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound. We will welcome you at the door. Venue: Epping Creative Centre Address: 26 Stanley St, Epping Doors open 1pm Meeting starts at 2pm Best regards, Tom Waters President Sydney Audio Club www.sydneyaudioclub.org.au tomwaters@sydneyaudioclub.org.au This post is for and on behalf of Tom and the Sydney Audio Club
