  4. Item: Infinity Primus PS-8 Subwoofer Location: 3183 Price: 180 Item Condition: good working order Reason for selling: upgraded to bigger one Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Great sound and, besides a small dent in the speaker cone, great condition. Infinity PS-8 Subwoofer Features and Specs Enclosure Bass Reflex Video Shielded No Woofer Size (inches) 8 Woofer Composition M.M.D. Firing Direction Front Wireless No Preamp-Level Inputs 3 Speaker-Level Inputs Yes Speaker-Level Outputs No Low-Pass Crossover Freq 50-150 Hz High-Pass Crossover Freq None Phase Switch Yes Amplifier Output (watts) 100 Frequency Response 35-150 Hz DIMENSIONS & WEIGHT Width 10.6 in Depth 16.8 in Height 17.5 in Weight 33.07 lbs Features Metal Matrix Diaphragm (M.M.D.): Derived from the C.M.M.D. material used in Infinity's flagship Prelude drivers, M.M.D. features a stiff aluminum core that provides exceptional strength and rigidity for clean, realistic low-frequency tones. Amplifier: The 8" M.M.D. front-firing cone woofer is powered by a 100-watt (RMS) amplifier. Surround: For a smoother response and improved durability, the woofer uses a rubber surround. Bass Ports: There are two rear-firing bass ports that allow deep bass with high acoustic efficiency and low distortion. Gain Control: The subwoofer has a rotary control on the rear panel for adjusting the level of the bass. Phase Switch: The subwoofer's phase switch allows you to control the phase of the subwoofer's output relative to the front speakers. If the bass sounds muddy or unclear, toggling the phase control can sometimes strengthen the bass "attack." Auto On/Off Circuit: The auto on/off circuit turns the power amp on when a signal is sensed and turns the amplifier off and into standby mode approximately 10 minutes after a signal is no longer received. An LED indicator on the rear panel glows green when the amplifier is on and red when the amp is in standby. Low-Pass Crossover: The subwoofer features a continuously variable 50Hz-150Hz low-pass crossover that determines the highest frequency at which the subwoofer reproduces sounds. The crossover has a 24dB/octave slope. Inputs and Outputs Notes Line-level Inputs: The subwoofer has a gold-plated LFE input and gold-plated stereo RCA inputs. If you have a Dolby Digital/DTS receiver or processor with a low-frequency-effects (LFE) output, you should use the LFE input on the subwoofer. If your receiver/processor does not contain a Dolby Digital or DTS processor but has a subwoofer output, you must use the stereo RCA inputs. If the receiver/processor has a mono subwoofer output, a "Y" adapter is recommended to maximize performance. Speaker-level Inputs: The left and right gold-plated 5-way binding posts allow you to connect the subwoofer to a receiver/amplifier using speaker wire. 6. Hi folks, I am moving to a new property, and looking at wireless options for my existing SVS PB10-NSD subwoofer. I am fairly happy with the sub, so dont intend to change anytime soon. However, as running a long cable to sub is not looking viable at this point in time, I am considering the many 2.4Ghz wireless kits available in the market. I guess what I wanted to know is, how is the quality of these kits ? Do they face any interference from the wifi or home appliances in 2.4 Ghz spectrum ? Please advise. Thanks.
  7. My nearly-4-year 4-way speaker project has reached a plateau. A little Tassie GTG today made me reflect that it's all been worth (some of) the struggle. The design and build thread is: The most recent photo: But this is a hobby, and this is SNA. Things must proceed. The words "so, it's basically the same as last time" really touched a nerve today (just kidding, you-know-who 😉). This must never happen again! I've played a few low tones and walked around the space - 10 x 6 m, with 3.2 m concrete ceiling, and noticed nulls, halfway along room, at the sides. Not huge, but a bit of a sag around 50-55 Hz. It's a passive system. No DSP. The design aimed to maximize bass extension by doing what few seem to do: use a large vented box. These are 240 litres, with twin 102mm diameter vents. So the new intention is to build 2 subs (stereo of course) to augment the bass, and place them in the "null" areas. This can hopefully coincide with the same distance from the listening position, so there are no time-delay issues. The best option would seem to be in the joint of wall/ceiling, behind the listening position, a bit more than half-way back into the room. How to get them there was an unresolved discussion today. They will be around 320 litres internally, and likely approach 100 kg each; securing them is the easy part, getting them there is another thing. A "sub-crawl" would necessitate a reversal of gravity. I initially thought the best driver would be the same as my 15" SBA woofers, but I was recently tempted by some gorgeous Acoustic Elegance TD15H drivers, so decided to model them in WinISD. It was all settled for a couple of days, then I simmed the SBA's more recent "long-throw" version of my woofer. It's a bit confusing, as the TS parameters are very similar, including X-max. The 3 drivers in this graph are: SB42FHC75-6 black (mine) SB42FHCL75-6 red (new long-throw) Acoustic Elegance TD15H blue These all have LP (hi-cut) filters applied. The black one is the same as my 4-way woofer, cutting off at 100 Hz, as with its present passive 4th-order filter. The blue trace, the AE driver, was very appealing, but both are completely blitzed by the (red) FHCL, so I've ordered 2 of these. Also, the 3" voice coil and greater power handling* (*Edit: wrong - see later posts) appealed. The red and blue traces have a 60 Hz 2nd order filter applied. Of course, this can be adjusted in real life to match the 4-ways and the room. The box sizes are 300 to 320 litres, all vented. So I can't be saved from the spend, but maybe your comments can help me with the next stage - designing the boxes for the wall-ceiling corners? As a cube, internally they could be around 700mm each way, but I anticipate angled baffles, from 45 degrees to whatever into the room. Looks like they'll need to be about 1.6m "wide".

  9. Item: Power Sound Audio V1800 18-inch ported Subwoofer Location: Brisbane Item condition: New / Perfect – used all of a couple of hours (once calibrated)! Not even broken in yet. Price: Update: $1700 and will cover transport (unless you are in some weird remote location). $1750 + postage (have all original packing so can arrange interstate transport) Reason for selling: Wife took one look at it and said it was TOO BIG and has to go!!! L Payment Methods: Paypal, Cash - Pickup. Extra Info: Purchased a month a bit ago from Deep HZ Audio. Basically the subwoofer is new. It is a beast. For the short time I used it (once I got it integrated into the rest of the system), so far has been one of the best subwoofers I have used for its price bracket and size. (previously owned SVS, REL, Yamaha and Krix subs). On the low frequency start in Edge of Tomorrow, I thought my lungs were going to implode with the low frequency SPL it can put out. My son kept saying it was way better than any cinema he has been to. I was very surprised how tight and good this 18-inch sub sounded with Music as well Movies (once calibrated). If you increase room size control it really has that chest impact in 60-80Hz frequency, while still maintaining composure. If you are into feeling your movies and music this is it. Will supply original invoice for the 5-year warranty. Only reason I took so long to put it up for sale was I thought I could change the wife’s mind, but CEO of house aesthetics will not allow it. (nowhere to hide a big subwoofer like I could in the old house) Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

This is one of the best subwoofers made in Australia at this price, and has lovely free flowing, controlled, musical, accurate and very satisfying deep bass in our unique, channelled bass loading design. This STL version has a high end 6 ohm 12" modified SB Acoustics driver, which reduces power slightly compared to the PTL version but is a little faster, more efficient, and suits critical music listening for audiophiles, like the 1025STL but larger. The sub is in full working condition and sounds fantastic, there are some small blemishes on the edges of the cabinet that you really only notice if you are standing right next to it, easy to tidy up with touch up paint or white out if you where picky Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  20. Item: Velodyne DD12 Subwoofer. Location: Melb SE Price: $1200 new price $5999 Item Condition: Good some blemishes but in perfect working condition, including all accessories remote manual kit etc Reason for selling: No longer used Payment Method: Pickup only - Pay pal (at buyers cost), Cash on pick up or Bank deposit Only. Extra Info: All accessories supplied in their original box. Pick up only, if wish shipping I can drop off to local pack and send for buyer to organise at their cost and convenience. Happy for person buying to come see and check out and pay cash on pick up Rarely does a Velodyne DD12 pop up, these are at the sweet point of size in the DD (digital drive range) note velodyne was very smart to have this with the same drive motor and 1250w amp as they the larger 18" DD subs woofer so these have a LOT of dynamic capability given huge reserves. As a sub for capability its very compact and packs a punch and yet with servo control (fully adjustable) they are very clean and controlled for 2ch or AV home theatre use. these are great on own or can also be partnered with another DD sub (doesn't have to be the same size) to work in a daisy chain arrangement. The EQ system these come with on board (same as the SMS-1 system sold separately) can be used with its real time analyser (RTA) that it has fitted to position not only the sub but also your mains for perfect integration of mains and sub and for your room for a really smooth response. the system comes with its own high quality microphone which can use to set everything up either automatically... or manually to your hearts content. I originally bought this from tivoli hifi and have been using in my bedroom system so has only had light use. Only selling as since upgrading amps in the bedroom setup I am no longer using this. . IT does have some blemishes which as much as have tried are impossible to capture by camera due to the high glasss reflective finish of it. while they are there, it looks fantastic in situ ! and been happy to use in my setup. I have enormous respect for these subs and use 2 DD15s in my own main system for both 2ch and HT. Specifications Digital Drive DD-12 sealed-box powered subwoofer Driver: 12" cone with 19.3-lb magnet structure, tandem 3" push-pull voice coil Frequency response: 17–120Hz, +/-3dB Harmonic distortion: <1% typical Highpass crossover: 80Hz @ 6dB/octave Lowpass crossover: 15–199Hz, variable in 1Hz increments; 6–48dB/octave slope Subsonic filter: 15–35Hz, variable in 1Hz increments; 6–48dB/octave slope Phase: 0–180°, variable in 15° increments Amplifier output: 1250W RMS, 3000W peak Inputs: line-level L&R, LFE (mono) line-level RCA, balanced XLR, speaker level L/R Microphone: balanced XLR Through (L&R): line-level RCA EQ output: video, L&R Other inputs/outputs: RS-232 in, RS-232 out Dimensions: 14.5" x 14" x 15.5" (HxWxD) Weight: 67 lbs (30 kg) Pictures:
