  1. Item: STAX SR-007 MKII ear speaker thingies Price Range: depends on condition Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: If you are thinking of selling, let's chat
  2. Further information: Both headphones and driver/DAC were bought from fellow SNAs and well taken care of. Photos: Headphones and driver/dac have original boxes so they can be shipped. Prefer to be sold together. DAC review: https://www.stereo.net.au/reviews/review-stax-srm-d50-electrostatic-driver-and-dac Stax headphone review: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/stax-sr-007-mk2.11923/reviews PLEASE READ If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved
  3. I am buying a set of STAX L700 headphones and energiser. My question is how do I incorporate these pieces into my current system which is MacBook Pro running Audirvana into Arcam irDACII via USB which is connected to Arcam A39 integrated amp by twin RCAs and to Arcam CDS27 streamer/CD by coaxial (ie to DAC). Will I connect the energiser to my DAC or one of the other pieces? I've searched but couldn't find an answer to this. And if it's blindingly obvious, sorry.... Thanks
  4. Further information: This is a rare CD by Stax for testing headphones. Photos: PLEASE READ If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved
  5. Further information: Excellent starter electrostatics that are suitable for anyone wanting to add Electrostats into their setup but is reluctant to splurge kilobucks into Omegas and KG amp setups right away. The amp is tiny and very low profile and has a 240V Australian power output, meaning it can easily slot into your desktop setup without any fuss and sounds great when paired with a good DAC and drive the headphones more than adequately. The headphones themselves sound beautiful and this is a regretful sale that I'm only doing in order to upgrade to higher grade Electrostatics, which as we all know, are bloody expensive and will likely make these redundant in my setup. These have been Blu-Tack modded (Blu-Tack used to cover the port in order to achieve better seal and greater bass linearity and quality) but this can be either reversed at your discretion or I can do it at your request. NOTE: These come with the smaller L300 headband installed, but as can be seen in the picture, are very much L500s. Unfortunately, I can't provide the original L500 headband. Standard Shipping included in cost but can post Express at your expense. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  6. I bought the entry Stax SRS-3100 which is a combination of SR-L300 headphone and the SRM-252S energiser lately. My source is an Intel NUC running ROCK (Roon on Linux). It feeds the Stax via a tiny iFi nano iDSD DAC. Do you think the iFi is doing justice to the Stax? My impression of the Stax so far is mediocre. Nothing outstanding and wonder it is the DAC. Your opinions welcome. Cheers Michael
  7. Item: Stax SRD Pro Price Range: $400-$600 Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: I have a pair of Stax SR-L500 mk1 and I'd like to use an SRD in my setup to switch the signal between speakers and headset. Require the PRO bias to work with my headphones.
  8. Need some sanity check on what I'm trying to do and how to do it... I'd like to run my Stax 727 off my Yamaha R-N602 so I can switch between my TT and Spotify. Thought I could keep Kefs as Speaker A and run the Stax as speaker B. I thought I could do this with RCAs, but then realised the R-N602 has banana plugs. Jaycar told me I could use a 2xRCA into 1xRCA cable, cut the 2xRCA off and install banana plugs and this would work. Yamaha is now alerting to a speaker wire short circuit. Is what I'm trying possible? Can it work without a preamp out? Is my homemade cable the problem? Is my R-N602 at fault? How can I test? How can I gloriously enjoy my stax?
  9. Further information: I have for sale my Stax SRS-3100 set. It consists of the electrostatic headphones/ear speakers SR-L300 and the driver unit (energiser) SRM-252S. The Stax's are in excellent condition. Lightly used with very low hours for their age, as I rarely use headphones. They were always stored away in a box when not used. Often I wouldn't turn them on for months. I bought them just over 3 years ago, in Singapore, from Zeppelin audio cafe, official Stax seller. (BTW, if you're into head-fi and ever in Singapore, you have to check this place out: https://zeppelinandco.com/. Coffee is not up to Aussie standards, but it's a head-fi haven) If you're checking this out, you probably already know about these electrostats. If not, there are many great reviews online. Here is one from our stereonet: https://www.stereo.net.au/reviews/review-stax-srs-3100-electrostatic-earspeaker-system They sound really good and are able to re-produce so much detail and at the same time are really easy to listen. I owned some middle-level Hifiman's, Sennheiser's and AKG's, but these Stax's were the end-game for me. But as I'm not a big fun of listening to music with headphones, and my Stax's don't get the use they deserve, I decided to part with them. Included: - SR-L300 ear speakers - SRM-252S driver unit - power adapter - UK plug - basic RCA interconnects - all original boxes and manual Please note that the power adapter has the UK/Singapore plug. You can use an AU/UK plug adapter, or purchase some good quality power adapter replacement. Or do what I do, and use UK power strips for your HiFi gear - I like those chunky UK plugs. Also, the extension cable showed in the last photo is not included, as I've already sold that separately. I'm happy to post to anywhere in Australia (insured AusPost) for an extra $40. Pickup available from Lindfield (NSW 2070). Photos:
  10. Further information: I have for sale my Stax SRS-3100 set. It consists of the electrostatic headphones/ear speakers SR-L300 and the driver unit (energiser) SRM-252S. I will also include the 2.5 meter headphone extension cable SRE-725H. Current RRP for all would be around $1500. The Stax's are in excellent condition. Lightly used with very low hours for their age, as I rarely use headphones. They were always stored away in a box when not used. Often I wouldn't turn them on for months. But as I'm not a big fun of listening to music with headphones, and my Stax's don't get the use they deserve, I decided to part with them. I may used the funds to build myself some near-field setup instead. Included: - SR-L300 ear speakers - SRM-252S driver unit - SRE-725H 2.5m extension cable - cable sold separately - power adapter - UK plug - basic RCA interconnects - all original boxes and manual Please note that the power adapter has the UK/Singapore plug. 11. Long story short I need to sell my large home set up and replace it with a headphone set up. I have tried almost every top headphone and while I liked the Utopia and Arya with the chord hugo, the Stax SR 009s paried with the Chord Qutest and srm-t8000 blew my mind. The detail and the way it presented the music really was life changing. This is coming from a strong PMC floorstanding set up at home. The problem is the price of the SR 009s, there are many SR 009 selling second hand for HALF the price. So does anyone have strong experience with trying both in order to provide me with some information that could help? I also here there is strong recommendations for the 3rd party amps.. but that can be for another discussion
  12. Further information: Both headphone and amplifier are in great working and cosmetic condition. L300LTD - only limited to 800 sets worldwide, serial number on this set is 699/800. I have upgraded to L700 leather earpad(cost about additional $200) and the original L300LTD earpad(unused) is provided as well. L300LTD comes with box and all papers. SRM-T1 has been modded to SRM-600LTD circuit, this mod is done by professionals. Tubes have been upgraded to 2x ECC99, and resistors are replaced with AMRG. The mod itself cost me about $400, and it turns out that the T1 sounds much more organic and better than the SRM-007T IMO and it pairs L300LTD very well. Voltage is 240v. Stock power cord is provided. Prior local buyer, postage would be on buyer's expense. Feel free to demo at my house if you are interested! 13. I'm looking for a decent pair of speakers. Got a possiblility of acquiring a pair of Stax speakers model STAX ELS F-81 Electrostatics. Anyone know what they are worth these day in good condition visually and fully working, have been serviced. I've got a REL Strata II that I'm likely going to pair them up with. Any help much appreciated
  14. Item: STAX SRM-T1 & STAX LAMBDA Headphones Location: Goulburn NSW 2580 Price: 1200.00 inc postage mainland Australia, You pay insurance if required. Item Condition: Excellent Perfect Working Order. Reason for selling: Not Using Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Bank Transfer Extra Info: Sadly I have not been using these since I had new foam inserts and earpieces fitted to the headphones and the energiser serviced by an electronics firm. I hate to see it sitting there unused so the time has come to sell. The sound is gorgeous. There is also a brand new Stax Pro extension lead. I have never used it other than to test it. These are the Pro headphones and leads with 5 pins, dont worry though you are able to use non Pro headphones as there is another output for these. I have never tried it as the Pro is the best. I would prefer local collection, if posted I will double box and use plenty of packing to keep the contents in their pristine condition. Price is ONO so make your offer but sorry I am not looking for any trades. If posted I will pay the postage at the asking price, You pay insurance if required. From a NON Smoking Environment. Photos:
