  1. I went over to my FIL's today and we calibrated his system using my new SPL Meter. Question, would you trust using Audessey or the SPL Meter? Cheers
  2. Hi all Up for sale is my Velodyne sub. This is a great compact sub which punches well above it's weight. Bass is fast and responsive and amazingly deep for such a small enclosure. Plenty of great reviews for this unit. Comes with calibration mic, remote control and original packaging and boxes. Happy to ship interstate at buyer's expense (let me know if you're interested and I can get a quote for you). Reason for sale: Upgrade Condition: Small chip in cabinet (see attached images) from a stray picture frame that caught the edge of the sub on it's way to the ground. Obviously does not affect its performance. Otherwise in excellent condition. (Those other blemishes on the first photo are reflections of my downlights) Price: $750 (RRP $1899) Location: Brisbane 4051 Photos: Specs: DIMENSIONS Speaker dimensions (H x W x D) 28 x 26.7 x 35.6 cm Subwoofer: 8” forward firing (6.5” piston diameter) GENERAL Cabinet: Sealed enclosure Finish: Hand-rubbed black gloss lacquer Video Shielded: No Weight: 15kg SIGNALS Outputs: Line-level, 80Hz up Inputs: Line and speaker level AUDIO Amplifier (Class D): 1200 watts RMS Power Magnet Structure: 5.8kg Frequency Response: 26-120Hz (+/- 3 dB) Voice Coil: 2.5” Dual Layer inside/outside wound Harmonic Distortion: <5% (typical) High Pass Crossover: 80Hz (6 dB/octave) Low Pass Crossover: 40-120Hz (12 dB octave initial, 24 dB octave ultimate) Phase: 0, 90, 180, 270 degrees
  3. Item: Extech 407768 Sound Pressure Meter Location: Perth Price: 200 now $ 100 which is a steal for a sophisticated unit like this Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Getting out of hifi Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Bought this for $ 400, probably more and really never got around to using it very often. cannot remember the last time I used it hence moving it on. It is supposed to be the ducks nuts on sound pressure meters and you can hook it up to a PC for all your data. It measures all types of stuff. I never used it much, in fact, I did not do really anything with it and was bought while I had some hifi OCD issues. Check Ebay and they still want 350-500 for the same unit and does not look in the same condition. As far as I know, everything is with it, but what you see in the pics is what you get. I will also guarantee it works perfectly and if it doesn't and you call or email me within seven days of receiving it, I will refund your dosh in full. Except for the postage. Will ship anywhere in Oz as it is a small package and comes in a pelican case. Postage cost is what I get charged and no more. It is a significant upgrade on the run of the mill stuff, but check the net out and you can read up if your keen? Thanks for looking. Pictures:

  5. How does this work? Speaker manufactures posting specifications of the max SPL but the recommended amplifier range doesn't add up to that specification. How should I read this. Meaning if my amp is big enough to produce the max SPL limit the speaker will be capable of handling this over short periods?
  6. Item: SPL Volume 2 Location: Healesville, Victoria Price: $200 + $10 for postage Item condition: Good, some minor marks Reason for selling: No longer needed Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra information: This volume controller is in good condtion. It has some minor marks. The volume knob has been knocked at some point, causing it to sit slightly unevenly, this does not affect its performance at all. I have tried to show this in one of the photos. The unit is in perfect working condition. RRP $600. Please contact me if you have any questions. Pictures:
