I am modyfying this CD-75 Mk2 with an extra DAC, balanced output and valve stage and it is basically finished but... ALPS volume pot crackles and all attempts to revive had failed. I need its part number and for that a service manual. Anyone has it or can look up the pot? it is green with MV 103A written on it and the body is 10mm square (miniature pot). Two rows of 3 pins Tried to look on ALPS web pages but they have thousands of pots, no detailed photos and one needs a part number to get anywhere. Any help appreciated.
I am repairing CD-17 which does not read discs (does not spin them) but have been unable to find a service manual for Mark I. Manuals for Mark II and Mark III state that to enter a service mode one has to press Play & Open/Close Tray while powering the unit up and this works as doctor ordered in a Mk II unit that I also have. But does not in a Mark I. Anyone has manual for Mk I? Or has a CD-17 Mk I and could check if they can enter the service mode with the above sequence? To exit the service mode, simply power the unit off. They say that once you are in the service mode, the display should show something like: CD17:10P00 where 10 is the microprocessor version and the last two digits are the mode number. Thanks Roman P.S. I have ordered a new laser module but am keen to know what is wrong with this unit as it appears to have laser working and it hunts for the disk - just does not spin it. I have tested all motors and they are OK and the main board is also OK. The player works well with the mechanism from MkII transfered into it.
