  1. Purchased these to use in the office but unfortunately my associates do not share my interest in music and the speakers do not work so well as a studio type monitor at low volume. The Left and Right are model 300's and the center is a model 100C. All made in Canada. They are in average condition, cabinets have scratches, bumps and dents, particularly corners and edges. Drivers all appear to be fine. $20 Donation to SNA and they are yours. Pick up is from the Burnside area.

They are in perfect working order and sound great, but they do have a couple of marks which i have tried to highlight in the photos. Front ported, so good flexibility with regards to positioning in a room. These currently retail for $1999/pair and are a solid speaker for that money. Unfortunately, I am downsizing the number of speakers in the family room back to a 3.1, so these have got to go. I have the boxes and all supplied accessories.

They are in perfect working order and sound great, but they do have a couple of marks which i have tried to highlight in the photos. Compared to the exceptionally well regarded Synchrony One speakers (which I use as mains), the Imagine X1T offer probably around 80 - 85% of the sound, albeit with a much more budget conscious finish. Front ported, they offer good flexibility with regards to positioning within the room. These currently retail for $1999/pair and are a solid speaker for that kind of money. These are now just taking up needless space at home and have got to go. Chuck em in your shed or garage or secondary room, wherever. Packed up in the original boxes with all supplied accessories, ready to go.

  6. Item: PSB 5.1 Speaker Pack consisting of Synchrony One Towers (Cherry), Synchrony One Centre (Cherry), Sub Series 300 Subwoofer (Black) and Imagine X1T Towers (Black) Location: Maribyrnong, VIC Price: $6000 including $100 donation to SNA Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Toddler Concerns - See Below Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (add 3% or do family and friends transfer) Extra Info: All stock bought new locally, and in excellent condition. There are some very minor cosmetic issues (pictured) on one of the Synchrony Towers, the Centre and one of the X1T towers, but all products are functioning perfectly. I had a very close call yesterday where my toddler nearly knocked over one of the X1T towers, which has prompted this rather sudden listing. I got lucky (both with the speaker not falling and my little one not getting hurt) and don't really want to risk anything further actually happening. Smoke free home, well cared for and never overdriven. Grills have been kept on to keep drivers hidden out of eyesight. Retail pricing on complete system is $13496 I have all the boxes, bungs (Synchrony Models only) and spikes/rubber feet. Pickup only due to size and number of boxes. Pictures:

The superb construction quality, details, and fittings are also identical. The amazing thing about this speaker (Synchrony Two B) is that except for the lack of deep bass, it sonically mirrors the Synchrony One flagship. 11. Anyone have any experience with the T3 ? Also, the matching of B (there is no B3) and S (there is no S3) with the T3 and C3 ? I have the Synchrony Ones, and they were fabulous value for money (thanks Townie), but they don't match the Salon2's for high quality listening.
  12. Hi All. After a couple of hours of reading through the Head-Fi section here on SNA, I may have narrowed down to what I could be after. My preferred budget is $300 - $500 Max. These are the candidates: - B&W's P7 - AKG Q701 / K702 - HiFiMan HE500 - Sennheiser Momentum Over-Ear - NAD Viso + Up to any suggestions. In most cases I am unable to test before purchase. Happy to purchase Second Hand or New. No Particular Genre' of music listening. Will be using an iPhone 4 for most of the listening. Possibly also Marantz 1060 Console Amp Headphone section - Advisable ? (Only until I can get together a budget for a Headphone Amp). Currently listening to B&W's P3 Headphones. I am enjoying them too, but after reading all the Praises for B&W's P5 + P7, I am clearly missing out on lots. All thoughts are greatly appreciated. Dek,
  13. Melbourne Audio Club monthly meeting - A QualiFi night: NAD, JAMO, PSB 8pm Wednesday 15th April, visitors welcome. Willis Room, City of Whitehorse Offices Maroondah Highway (Whitehorse Road), Nunawading Melway Map 48 Ref G9 Contact: 9437 1249 This month's meeting we have the pleasure of QualiFi presenting to the club two hi fi systems. NAD electronics with JAMO speakers and MARANTZ with PSB speakers. These quality brand names will be familiar to most. System one will comprise of NAD's flagship electronics, the M12 Digital Preamp DAC with the M22 Stereo Power Amplifier. The M12 isn't a typical DAC and it isn't a typical preamplifier. Built for the future, the M12 is an ultra-high resolution digital audio hub with audiophile grade features. NAD's Direct Digital processing and class-A buffer guarantee real time 24-bit accuracy. The M12 interfaces with all digital or analogue musical sources, 24/192 Asynchronous USB, coaxial or optical, balanced and single ended line level inputs. The matching power amp, the M22 uses the latest nCore amplifier technology licensed from Hypex. Employing the latest generation of digital Power Drive, the M22 is capable of 300W dynamic power per channel into 8 ohms, and 600W into 2 ohms. Partnering this system will be JAMO's Concert Series speakers, the C109. This new model was introduced to the Australian market, at the Melbourne Hi Fi Show in October 2014. The C 109 features a 3-way bass reflex design. This floor standing speaker uses two 7-inch woofers, a 7-inch midrange driver and a 1-inch decoupled tweeter. The silk dome tweeter is surrounded with an Anti-Diffraction Waveguide to improve off-axis response. The 7 inch drivers use a Hybrid Composition Conical Cone, providing the stiffness and strength of aluminium, with the transient response and smoothness of wood fibre. The meeting will continue with a second system comprising of Marantz electronics and PSB speakers from Canada. At the time of this article, the components for this second system were still to be finalised. I'm hoping to have the SA 8005 SACD player with the matching amplifier, as well as the PSB Imagine T2 speakers. I'm sure QualiFi will have two excellent systems for us all to appreciate. 16. Hi guys, I'm hoping for a bit of advice for a noobie. I've recently purchased but not yet received some VAF DC7s, a DC6 centre and their SW4 sub. I've been lusting after these for quite some time, so I'm pretty damn excited. I currently have a Marantz SR5003 receiver. Now, I'm also looking for some surround speakers but unfortunately I've already broken the budget with the above purchases, so I'm looking for a cheaper alternative than for eg the VAF DC3s. I was looking at some PSB Image B4s for surrounds as they seem to have similar specs to the DC3s, are quite small and can be had for about $300. The only problem is how much power they can handle. The PSBs are 6ohms with a recommended input of 10-80 watts. However, the Marantz outputs 90 watts/channel at 8ohms and 115 watts at 6ohms. The big question being, am I going to blow them up? My usual listening volume on the amp is at about -35db, but for films it could be at about -20db and for real ear bleeding fun with music (including concerts on bluray), perhaps at the very most -15db. I've done a lot of looking around online to try to find out roughly how many watts per channel the receiver would actually be outputting at the above listening levels but to no avail. I'm also interested in how much power the amp would be sucking from the wall at different listening levels (it has a maximum of 600 watts according to the back panel), so I might buy an energy meter to test it out. If anyone has any idea whether these speakers would be ok or if there are any other cheapish alternatives that might match up with the VAFs reasonably well, I would really appreciate your thoughts. I'm also aware that the PSB Image B5s will handle much more power but that's another $200 I'd rather not spend... Cheers.
  17. The August 2012 meeting of the Sydney Audio Club sees us once again at Dence Park for an afternoon of fine music and sound and convivial company. Each month, the Sydney Audio Club presents the finest in high end audio systems for our members and guests. It's a bit like a private audio show once a month where you can hear and discuss equipment that you might not otherwise have the chance to audition. And you can bring along your own music to test the capabilities of the system or to just share with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. This month, we focus on the offerings of the Audio Products Group (APG). APG is a distributor of premium audio and visual products to home, business and professional users. Some of their brands include: AKG, Denon, Elan, Loewe, NAD, PSB, Peavey, RevoLabs, Sunfire, Tannoy, WireWorld. Scott Collins, the APG Marketing Manager, will be in the audience to answer questions. The equipment line-up will be: NAD CD player C546BEEG (RRP $599) http://www.audioproducts.com.au/ProductInfo.aspx?pid=C546BEEG PSB Imagine T2 speakers (new $3499 floorstanders with a transitional 5-way design) http://www.psbspeakers.com/products/imagine/Imagine-T2-Tower NAD C 390DD (new $2,999 2 x 160w amp with Direct Digital technology) http://www.audioproducts.com.au/ProductInfo.aspx?pid=C390DD Cabling by WireWorld http://www.wireworldcable.com/categories/reference_range.html Also, we will have other products which were some of the first collaborations between the two brands of NAD and PSB: PSB M4U2 headphones (RRP $399) http://www.audioproducts.com.au/brandproducts.aspx?Brand=PSB\ NAD VISO 1 smart music system (RRP $699) http://www.audioproducts.com.au/ProductInfo.aspx?pid=VISOONE The NAD VISO 1 also features Direct Digital technology. While this is not a typical audiophile product it does offer great sound for what it is. They are often finding a place in other rooms of an audiophile's home where casual listening is the desire. And… the Audio Products Group (APG) has generously offered to give away the display PSB M4U2 headphones, free! This will be offered as a draw/door prize. You will need to provide your name and email address to enter the draw (one entry per person). Your details may be used by APG in their marketing, but will not be shared with any other business. As usual, the second half of the music sessions will be BYO. Members and guests are welcome to offer music to share with us all. So bring along your favourite music on CD (sorry, no vinyl this month). All we ask is that the music and recordings be interesting. We'll ask you to tell us a little about the artist/recording before it is played. Tracks over 6 minutes will be faded out, to give everyone a fair go. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others of a similar mind. Members and Guests welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound. We will welcome you at the door.
