Hey Guys, So, I was just wondering what are the best projectors under $2000, I know there are a lot of reviews out there but I just wanted an honest opinion from someone who has actually bought a projector. Hope you guys could help me out.

Hi guys I'm new to all this and was hoping to get some sound advice from owners of the above units as to its performance. Yes I know, 'how long is a piece of string?' you ask... Well, I intend to purchase one of the above units to mainly watch movies and live afl. It will be located in a 7m x 6m room which can let in a bit of light. However, that can be fixed if required. I also want to project the image on to a screen that is at least 120 inches. I have read all the reviews regarding each of the units and all it has done is given me a huge migraine. Any good advice will be appreciated. Regards Veng
Hi Guys I'm a newbiee in this area and I'm taking the next step and have managed to convince the boss (my wife) to let me look into getting a projector for my house. My theatre room is nothing special, its 3.6m wide and about 4.2m long and was hoping to have a 100 to 110inch screen with a projector mounted to the roof at the back of the room, throw distance will be 4m . It is just a standard room with off white walls and one window that runs along the side of the room that is blocked out by a blind. So there will be some light that gets in during the day, I have seen alot of recommendations from other posters here that painting the walls makes a big difference but I haven't yet been able to get that approved by the boss. The main priorities are Movies 70% TV (such as the footy or F1 cars) 20% and with a little bit of gaming 10%. My budget is about 3 to 4 grand to spend on the projector and 1 grand for the screen Now the big question, which projector lol? I have looked at a few options so far other posters seem to like the Panasonic PT-AE8000 and the JVC X35. Now I know people rate the JVC as the better one but only when the room has been built for it whereas the PT is much better for not ideal conditions so with that in mind i'm sort of leaning towards the PT model, But if you guys can recommend something else I'm all ears, The problem for me is I don't know of anywhere in Melbourne where I can actually see these projectors in action. I have been to the Big Picture people in Bundoora but they don't have these models they are telling me that the Mits HC7900 is better and the pic does look good but that is also in ideal conditions, the sales person is saying its a great projector, but really he's there to sell it isnt he? So really here looking for some advice and guidance any help is really appreciated I hope thats enough info please don't hesitate to ask thanks
