  1. Further information: Sherbourn PT-7030 pre-amp/processor: Processing for 7.1 channels. Supports uncompressed Dolby TrueHD & DTS-HD audio via HDMI. HDMI 1.4a switching/processing, good for everything up to 1080p including 3D. Upscales from component inputs. Balanced stereo input Balanced and RCA 7.1ch outputs (inc. dual sub) 7.1 multi-channel inputs & outputs Internally a big chunk of it's the same as the Rotel RSP-1572, except this adds the Balanced stereo & pre-amp outputs - it even shows up on connected HDMI devices as a Rotel People seem to be buying these just to use as stereo/multi-channel preamps, as apparently it's a well regarded analog stage. Comes with original double-box, all original packing, manuals & mostly unused remote (I always used universal remotes). Happy to post via AusPost, but it's 17kg packed, so keep that in mind! Review here: https://www.soundandvision.com/content/sherbourn-pt-7030-surround-processor-pa-7-350-amplifier ISSUE: The only problem is that the display has a "surprise auto-dimming mode"... the front panel display randomly turns off for 15-20 mins about once a week. No impact to operation, and I'd assume it's a loose ribbon cable Photos: Front (actual unit, still in use until I can find a spare ~6 hours this week to recable & replace it!): Generic internet-sourced rear panel photo:
  2. Further information: I previously withdrew this for sale as I intended to use it elsewhere. That didn’t happen now it is time for it to go.. UMC-1 7.1 processor combines some of the more advanced A/V processing you'll find into a package that is hard to beat. Let's start with the hardware. The UMC-1 utilizes Emotiva's LED-backlit controls that give it a warm, minimalistic look. They're going to audiophile appeal and I think they nailed it. On the back you’ve got 5 HDMI inputs, 3 component video inputs and three composite/S-video inputs. That’s enough to handle up to 11 video sources, not counting your integrated tuner and of course any dedicated audio-only sources like CD or Aux. For connectivity to an amplifier, the UMC-1 has unbalanced 7.1 analogue outputs and 7.1 inputs for external source, it even have a balanced subwoofer output. The other thing that makes this somewhat of an audiophile system is the fact that it doesn’t have any provision for serial or network control. It’s not really suited or designed for whole home integration systems. As far as inside the box.. there’s a lot. For video processing, you have a Genesis Torino chip with Faroudja DCDi. The on-screen display is full colour and will overlay overtop of video via HDMI. There’s even automatic setup and room EQ via “Emo-Q” and an included microphone. Bass management is pretty sophisticated, and you can set different crossover points and slopes for each speaker group (the main channels, centre, surrounds). In terms of audio, the system is equally flexible and we liked how you could customise how it treated each signal type. Comes with a calibration microphone and power cable. Pickup at Cranbourne or Frankston (via prior arrangement)

  5. Item: McIntosh MX151 AV Control Centre Location: Sydney Price: $4,900 Item Condition: Used, flawless Reason for selling: Upgraded to the MX160 Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Served as my AV Control/processor for several years - it never once let me down. The MX151 is a software upgraded version from the MX150, to include HDMI 3D passthrough. It's essentially the same as the MX160 ($24,000) but doesn't do ATMOS, 4K etc., but pretty much everything else. Still have original packaging as well as manuals and all gear associated with Mac's stunning Room Perfect implementation. While McIntosh refers to the MX150 as a control center, it is first and foremost an A/V processor. The look of the MX150 is classic McIntosh with a glass front panel and symmetric controls surrounding a bright blue fluorescent display. The MX150 is a great-looking piece of equipment and it is especially beautiful in a darkened room. The glass panel is illuminated by LEDs paired with fiber optic light diffusers. All of the controls on the front panel have a very precise feel and the volume knob is wonderfully smooth in operation. Under the display are a series of yellow indicators which show the channels received in the input audio stream and the channels that are output from the processor. The other four indicators under the display show whether the MX150 is receiving an analog signal, a digital signal, a high resolution audio signal, and whether the RoomPerfect system is engaged. The rear panel of the MX150 supports an amazing array of components and connections. The processor supports two zones and references to “ZA” and “ZB” refer to Zone A and Zone B, respectively. The MX150 receiver supports five HDMI 1.3 inputs and one HDMI 1.3 output. This is enough to handle a satellite or cable receiver / DVR, a Blu-ray player and a gaming system with two inputs to spare. The MX150 supports a full complement of analog audio and video inputs with five component video inputs, two composite video inputs, two S-Video inputs, 9 sets of stereo analog RCA inputs including one with a precision phono preamplifier, and a 7.1 multi-channel input. The MX150 supports nine digital audio inputs (four coaxial, four optical and one balanced AES/EBU). For balanced analog audio, the MX150 includes two sets of XLR stereo inputs. http://www.ultrahighendreview.com/mcintosh-mx151-av-control-center/ Pictures: (Note picture is of my MX160 - the 151 is boxed in the garage, but looks identical)

  7. Dear fellow members, My Marantz AV7701 started to have a mind of its own and now is continuously restarting on/off. There is a YouTube clip of another with the same issue so it seems to be a common problem. Comments below on YouTube from another poster suggested it is the PSU. Here is the clip (it's not me btw :-) ): The question I would like to ask, it is worth spending to repair or just save and spend on top for a new unit? I mean at least I would assume the repair may be around the $400 mark .. Even if the repair is good, usually warranties from the repair mob is not very long. As we all know that a replacement Prepro will not be cheap. 4K passthrough is not that important (although it does supports it however 4K@30p) I am in Melbourne and I believe JLS electronics is pretty good. Has anyone been in this dilemma? What would you advise. Thanks for your time. Cheers

  11. Item: Emotiva XMC-1 GEN 2 AV ProcessorLocation: PerthPrice: SOLDItem Condition: PristineReason for selling: Decluttering as getting ready to move housePayment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (buyer pays fees), Bank DepositExtra Info: Emotiva dont need an introduction, but this HT processor is fantastic. This was purchased about two and a half years ago from Emotiva direct, before Final Link became official distributors in Australia. Unit has hardly been used, as it was supposed to be used in a new home build that never eventuated at the time. Supplied with all accessories (minus manual, link below) and packaging. Unit itself is immaculate. This unit can also be upgraded to support HDMI2.0 and HDCP2.2, as well as Dolby Atmos and DTS-X, however I believe its possible these add-on cards may need to be acquired via Emotiva direct from the US, rather than Final Link (they are currently not available in Australia yet anyways). Also, the Dirac license is not transferable, so a new license (purchasing the full Dirac software) would be required to run Dirac on this unit. Full Instruction manual here:- http://www.emotiva.com/resources/XMC_user_v30_manual.pdf

  13. Hi guys, I am looking at selling on my brand new Yamaha CX-A5000 11.2 channel AV processor. This unit has been sat in its box for about 6 months whilst my home is being built but due to overspending on he build I need to sell it to recover some funds. As you do when you get a new toy, the unit has been opened to take a look but it has never been powered on so is absolutely as new and would suit a new buyer. This unit was selected after many hours of reviewing and auditioning and has received fantastic reviews. The CX-A5000 is $3499 retail but will currently accept offers around $2490. I am willing to negotiate to a certain extent but not to a silly amount. I can organise interstate shipping if required but will not ship outside Aus. If you require a shipping quote please let me know your suburb and postcode. For a more detailed look at the units specification take a look at the link below to Yamaha's website. http://au.yamaha.com/en/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/aventage_separate_components/cx-a5000_black_a/?mode=model For enquiries you can reach me on 0404 986 863. Kind Regards Mike
  14. Item: Primare SP33 Pre/Pro Location: Melbourne Metro Price: $1250 Firm Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Just Another Lame Excuse To Upgrade Payment Method: Cash, COD Only, Colour: Titanium Silver Extra Info: Comes in original box with C24 remote, 12V trigger lead, power lead and instruction manual............and no, it doesn't have the pseudo 4K board, so if you can get over that please read on. It is in excellent condition and working order. The SP33 is still a current model and retails for $5999. It is of a modular design that can be upgraded as Primare release new boards for it. Having owned a number AVRs over the years, I can quite confidently say it is the only one that I've owned that is genuinely as good with stereo content as it is with multichannel content. This SP33 was purchased from the Lifestyle Store Parramatta (John) as a demo unit. What you see in the photos below is what you get. No tricks, no snake oil, no gimmicks. Pictures:
  15. Item: Primare SP33 Location: 3782 VIC Price: $1.900 plus shipping Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Chasing butterflies. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal (Friend) . Extra Info: Item can be shipped in original packaging. Extra Info: Item can be auditioned. This Pre Processor doesn’t come with a lot of bells and whistles, but I prefer not to waste money spend in area’s that don’t improve things if the basics aren’t right. And that is producing excellent audio. Its build quality is superb and has all the connections you probably going to need. I decided to put it up for sale to raise funds before I start chasing butterflies, or unicorns. Pictures:
