  1. Item: Magico S3 Floor-Standing Speakers in M-Cast Pewter Location: Melbourne Price: Originally listed for $17K but now reduced to $15.5K !! This is a true high end bargain as they retailed around $33K, while the S3 mk2 is currently $43K and in such demand that there's a waiting list. Item Condition: As close to new condition as possible in a used item. Complete with all packaging, including inner cartons and crate for safe transport. Reason for selling: Need funds Payment Method: Cash, Bank Transfer or Paypal Extra Info: Anyone who can afford these will be aware that they are produced by arguably the most highly regarded speaker manufacturer in the world today, becoming a reference amongst high end audiophiles. You presumably need no description of the unique virtues of this model, formed from a solid aluminium enclosure, with reviews all over the net. Subjectively they excel in detail, clarity, size of soundstage, control and extension without harshness. In other words, sheer accuracy and neutrality when the rest of the system is able to do them justice. This pair is as good an example of this rarely available speaker that you will ever find on the used market. They were purchased directly from the Magico importer. Happy to demonstrate for SERIOUS buyers. No time wasters please! Pictures:

Adjusted for optimum performance with correct VTA, azimuth, overhang, offset angle, tracking force and anti-skate bias correction under test conditions. Refurbishment of all electrical contacts and cabling, relocation of the arm horizontally and vertically via the locking collar and bearing re-alignment has produced probably the best performing sample of this combination you will ever find. 5. Item: B&W 802D Floorstanding Speakers in beautiful Rosenut finish Location: Melbourne Price: Reduced to $8700 Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Selling for friend who moved into smaller room Payment Method: Cash, Bank Transfer or Paypal Extra Info: If you're after this model you're unlikely to ever get a better pair at this price. Iconic 800 Series speakers in terms of their appearance as well as performance, originally around $23K. These are a true bargain for the B&W lover. I'm told that apart from cosmetics, the only acoustic change to the 802D2 was a minor change in tweeters. Some even prefer them to the latest 802D3, which if available used, would probably cost over $10K more. Happy to demonstrate perfect working order, but pickup only as there is no original packing. I can supply ultra thick removalist blanket for local collection with a private vehicle, safer as well as cheaper than a courier. I appreciate that interstate members are interested in this model but wary of transport. I'm happy to help at my end and suggest transport request for travelling members via SNA forum, or if collection at a later date I'm able to store. All drivers including Diamond tweeters are in PERFECT condition. Extra photos just added.

  9. Item: RCA Red Base 5692/6SN7 JAN CRC 1955 NOS NIB x 1 Location: Sydney Price: Price Reduction $200 now $150 Plus postage Item Condition: NOS NIB - Never used Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Bank TT This RCA Red Base is a military grade JAN CRC and made in 1955. Original packaging. Perfect. The 5692 was developed by RCA and they made the very best ones with the rare and best of breed Red Base. Some background from Stereophile: "RCA's time-honored 6SN7 may be the coolest tube of all. The octal-based dual-triode has its own Wikipedia entry—something not even the 2A3 or 300B can boast—along with its own website. The 6SN7 is chunky, rugged, and handsome. Best of all, it's available, probably because people keep coming up with very good uses for it. In that sense, the 6SN7 is the Campbell's Cream of Mushroom Soup of the tube world. Developed in 1939, the 6SN7 appeared just in time for America's involvement in World War II, and its use in a variety of military settings spurred a remarkable level of demand, the influence of which continues to be felt in the new/old stock (NOS) tube marketplace. Later, in 1943, the engineers who developed the first ENIAC computer specified the 6SN7 as their dual-triode of choice—and because the 18,000-tube ENIAC contained more than 6000 6SN7s, with a weekly maintenance regimen that required frequent tube changes, demand and production remained high. As if that weren't enough, the 6SN7 became a popular choice among designers of television receivers, for use as a vertical amplifier—and, again, the RCA bean-counters smiled. Today, the 6SN7 remains popular among high-end audio engineers, having surpassed the otherwise ubiquitous 12AX7—the miniature dual-triode that RCA developed in 1946, ostensibly as a replacement for the 6SN7—in some parts of our own community, if not the more lucrative industry of musical-instrument amplifiers. In particular, the single-ended-triode movement embraced the 6SN7 and its variants for use as a small-signal voltage amplifier.
