  2. [* Advertised price is open to offers however price does not include shipping (but does include shipping insurance & all sellers fees), see Notes below *] Selling the Chord Electronics Hugo M-Scaler/TT2 system with a Farad super-capacitor based linear power supply which is intended to enhance the TT2's analogue output stage & pre/headphone amplifier. This system also includes upgraded 3rd party interconnect cables for data and DC power (Does not include upgraded AC cables). It has been an absolute pleasure to have this system as my primary headphone system over the past four (almost) years. It has brought me great joy and has to date provided the best sonic experiences I've had. However, I have been able to buy my own home and intend on moving away from headphones (after 15 years of head-fi) to a real loud-speaker set-up. The TT2 is also an extremely potent digital pre-amp, however I intend on purchasing the Dutch & Dutch 8c active loudspeakers. The SOTA pre-amp function of the TT2 would therefore have no affect (8c's convert back into digital, apply DSP and pushes it through its onboard DAC) and also, the 8c's are eye-wateringly expensive and would need to sell this to help fund the purchase. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Full system review of the Chord Hugo MTT2 system w/ comparisons: https://audiophilestyle.com/ca/revi...ord-electronics-hugo-m-scaler-hugo-tt-2-r781/ Total RRP: $18,575 The sale comes with five items: 1) Hugo TT2 DAC (FPGA/Pulse-Array) / Digital Pre-amp / Headphone Amplifier (RRP $9,000 AUD) https://chordelectronics.co.uk/product/hugott2 - The best headphone amp I have ever used, bar none; it is extremely resolute, smooth, with perfect timing, sublime basic measurements and has huge power reserves (can deliver 5A peaks) to power super low sensitivity headphones (e.g., Hi-Fi Man Susvara) or even efficient bookshelf speakers directly. It is essentially an immaculately clean mini power amp for high-end headphones through to the lowest of sensitivities and high sensitivity passive bookshelf speakers. - Operates in pure Class A down to 30Ω loads, and Class AB down to 4Ω. - As a pre-amp, it can drive up to an astounding 16V extremely cleanly (THD+N 0.00017%) into power amplifiers. - Incredibly accurate digital volume control (noise shaped and dithered to -301dB accuracy in the digital domain) - TT2 Single Ended Power: 0.145W into 600ohm, 7.3W into 8ohm. - TT2 Balanced Power: 0.576W into 600ohm, 18W into 8ohm, but 4-ohm limit (20W). - Review w/ measurements: https://chordelectronics.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Hugo-TT-2-Review-HiFI-World.pdf - Hand built in the UK 2) Hugo M-Scaler Digital Up-sampler (RRP $7,800.00 AUD) https://chordelectronics.co.uk/product/hugo-mscaler - Up-samples from 44.1kHz through to a maximum of 768kHz - Review w/ Measurements: https://www.stereophile.com/content/chord-electronics-hugo-m-scaler-upsampling-digital-processor - Hand built in the UK 3) Farad Super3 (Super-Capacitor) Linear Power Supply (RRP $1,300 w/upgrades): https://www.faradpowersupplies.com/ - Farad Level 2 DC Cable & Synergistic Orange Fuse Upgrades - Input 230 VAC, Output 15 VDC. - Best measuring, fastest and lowest noise linear PSU, bar none (scroll up to earlier post to see test set-up): https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/super3-a-supercapacitor-lps-by-farad-power-supplies.29931/post-625247 - Review: https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/...dio-streaming/page/61/?do=userPosts&mid=25654 - Review 2: review_hifi.pdf (faradpowersupplies.com) - Review 3: Farad Super3 | The Ear (the-ear.net) - Hand built in the Netherlands 4) Clearer Audio Copper-Line Alpha Canare BNC 1.5m Interconnect (Pair) (RRP $275 AUD w/upgrades) - https://www.cleareraudio.com/products/copper-line-alpha-digital-interconnect - "Super Suppressor" ferrites for RF reduction - 6N OCC Copper (Core) & 5N Ultra High Purity Oxygen Free Copper (Braid) - Beautifully made with great specifications - https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0274/4811/files/copper-line_alpha_digital_inter_specs_web.pdf?668 - Big sonic step up from using the stock BNCs included with the M-Scaler - Hand built in the UK 5) Clearer Audio Silver-Line 1m USB (RRP $200 AUD w/upgrades) - https://www.cleareraudio.com/products/silver-line-usb-interconnect (note that ferrite upgrades are no longer possible) - "Super Suppressor" ferrites for RF reduction - Full specification: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0274/4811/files/silver-line_usb_inter_specs.pdf?688 - Hand built in the UK NOTE 1: All items will be delivered in original packaging along with all stock cables, remotes, etc. which came with the units originally. NOTE 2: All items are in fantastic like-new condition, owned since late 2018. I take a great deal of care of my equipment. NOTE 3: Can only be bought as a system, I am not selling individual components. NOTE 4: The price does not include shipping; depending on where you live and shipping grade (regular or express) this needs to be calculated. HOWEVER, I will fully cover the cost of shipping insurance myself which is the bulk of the shipping cost. NOTE 5: I can accept payment via PayPal or Bank Transfer. NOTE 6: My advertised price is a ballpark preferred figure; you can also send me an offer. Can potentially give a $300 discount if you are happy to pay via Bank Transfer as opposed to PayPal. Again, the offer you put down won't include shipping (insurance is included however). Thankyou.
  3. I was searching for a valve preamplifier to match with my McIntosh 240. Recently found this odd looking unit with someone I know . He was using it only very occasionally and was happy to sell it. Anyway I decided to give it a try. Seller said its a Trevor Lees Audio valve preamplifer. Unfortunately he don't have much detail info about this unit. - There are only very few switches on the front panel without any labels ( Separate volume controls for left and right channel & two switches with unknown functionality) - It seems like there are four AUX inputs and one Phono input. - Caps I could see are Sprague, Seimens, Wonder Cap (Ultima series with Danor). - Valves from right to left - Zaerix ECC88, Sylvania 6SL7, Zaerix 6DJ8, Zaerix 6DJ8, Zaerix 6DJ8. - Not sure which make is the volume pot. - It has got a separate power supply unit ( Power supply unit is a bit noisy when switched on ). Anyone else here using the same preamplifier (Will be helpful for me to gather more info on this) ? Pictures I tried connecting it to my McIntosh 240 and it sounds good. I'm sure it has got a lot of space for further improvement. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

  6. This item is now sold. Conrad Johnson ET3- SE Preamplifier ) Location : Gold Coast Condition : 9/10 asking price 2800 (RRP 5500 AUD) I am selling this wonderful preamplifier, purchased from Caxton Audio, 11 months ago . It has been cared for very well and is in excellent condition , both sonically and aesthetically . It is very transparent , detailed and has provided my system with a beautiful and a glorious holographic soundstage - music feels three dimensional . This pre employs a single 6922 tube - hence has a harmonically rich and non fatiguing quality to its sound . It responds very well to both NOS and other tubes . This is the " special edition" unit with the Teflon capacitors and upgraded resistors , etc . It also does imaging /placement of instruments in the soundstage extremely well . It has a home theater bypass function which can be activated through the handy remote . The only reason I am selling this wonderful piece is that I have recently purchased an ET5 . The unit comes with all original packaging , manual , power cable and remote . Do have a look at some of the glowing reviews - http://www.tonepublications.com/review/conrad-johnsons-et3se-preamplifier/ http://www.hifinews.co.uk/news/article/conrad-johnson-et3se-pound;4920/9800 - Stereophile "Class A "- Recommended Preamplifier , 2012 Description from Conrad johnson website - "At conrad-johnson, development of our flagship products has traditionally led to important enhancements of our entry-level offerings. The ET3 preamplifier is a case in point. The ET3 line-stage is a “baby†version of our flagship line-stage preamplifier, the GAT. The family resemblance is much more than skin deep. With voltage gain provided by a triode vacuum-tube, the zero-feedback line-stage circuit of the ET3, along with its DC voltage regulators, closely replicates the circuit of the GAT. Finally, and especially noteworthy, the ET3 features a relay operated discrete stepped attenuator level-control circuit of the type found in the GAT and CT5" "Premium quality component parts are specified to optimize performance and to sustain that performance for years to come. Precision, metal-film resistors yield low noise performance for greatest clarity. Polypropylene capacitors, used exclusively in the audio circuits and the regulated plate voltage supplies, offer extraordinary temporal accuracy. In fact, the ET3 is built to standards that meet or exceed those of many companies' "flagship" offerings. Those who wish to take the performance to yet a higher level will be thrilled by the availability of an upgraded "SE" version. The ET3SE boasts CJD Teflon capacitors in critical circuit applications, dozens of upgraded metal foil resistors (including ALL resistors in the stepped attenuator level control), upgraded machined input/output connectors, and even an upgrade AC mains line-cord." Specifications Gain: 25 dB Maximum Output: 20 Vrms Distortion: less than .15% THD Impedance: 100 Ohms Freq. Response: 2 Hz to more than 100 KHz Hum and Noise: 98 dB below 2.5 V Phase: phase inverting Home theater bypass facility Tube Compliment: 1x 6922 Dimensions: 13.125D x 19W x 3.315H inches Weight: 13 lbs.
