  3. Hi everyone I've got a RTI Remote fully programmed ad a oppo 105 connected via rs232, had it 2.5yrs and find I constantly looses connection between the two. So frustrating. Spent big dollars, and dissaponted. I don't have ash issues with my pre amp, projector, humax player, Apple tv, etc... it's only the oppo105... anyone had similar experience? Only solution is switch all of, wait a while and try again. Eventually works done times. That'll good for mobile phone oppo app. Sure wish I could edit the remote control myself, out really sucks that you spend so much money and you don't get given a mini version of the software to edit.. this point alone, in ready to jump to another system. Also anyone have really slow hdmi sync with a marantz av8001 and oppo 105. Gets slow switching between inputs. Thanks Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk T
  4. Hi, I currently am trying to control both Marantz AV8801 and Oppo105 via the Marantz Phone App ( Previously worked better on my old phone Note3, but a mess on my current phone Note5 ) The below might be confusing, so i hope i have explained well enough. Current Setup Marantz Preamp CD Input = XLR inputs from Oppo 105 Oppo 105 HDMI Output to visually see music files Streamed From NAS Current Procedure ( Via RTI Remote ) I must Start Up Marantz and Oppo via RTI BLURAY input ( HDMI Input for movies ) I must then Switch to CD Input on my RTI Remote ( To Switch to XLR Music INput from Oppo ) When switching to CD Input, i can still see Bluray Input On Screen ( As i have CD Input set to show Bluray Video Input ) Problems ( Gets confusing here on ) Unless i start with the RTI BLURAY input first, i dont get any Blueray Video Input when i swtich to CD Input Why must i start with BLURAY input first???? If i start with CD Input first, i dont get the video on screen or control of browing media files thru NAS from Oppo Phone APP Problems If i run the Marantz App, and select CD Input, i dont get any Video On Screen at all - so cant select media files to play off screen. Should the Marantz App, switch to the correct video input on screen, or this purely a RTI Programming setup? I assumed CD Input on the Marantz would trigger the Video on Screen from the Bluray HDMI Have i wired somethign incorrectly?

  6. The June 2013 meeting of the Sydney Audio Club sees us once again at Dence Park for an afternoon of fine music and sound and convivial company. Each month, the Sydney Audio Club presents the finest in high end audio systems for our members and guests. It's a bit like a private audio show once a month where you can hear and discuss equipment that you might not otherwise have the chance to audition. And you can bring along your own music to test the capabilities of the system or to just share with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. This month we will feature Usher equipment kindly supplied by Ethan Lim of the distributor Westan (refer to http://www.westan.com.au/) and Matt Walker of The Cable Connection in Carlton (refer to http://www.thecableconnection.com.au/). Our main speakers will be the Usher Mini Dancer 2. The Dancer 2 is a 2-way system with a 1.25" diamond DMD dome tweeter, and two mid-low woofers in a MTM configuration. They are fairly sensitivity at 90 dB @ 1 watt/1m, with a frequency response of 28 Hz ~ 40 kHz. We hope to also have the Usher Mini X (book shelf speakers) should they get back in time from a review. The Mini X also has the diamond DMD tweeter, and can reproduce music with lucidity and accuracy. The warmth of a performance is portrayed accurately, neither embellishing nor becoming over-analytical while maintaining a wide, holographic soundstage. Amplification will be the Usher R1.5 power amplifier. The R-1.5 amplifier is designed to drive any loudspeaker, producing warm, "tube like" sound quality. It has been constructed with premium parts, including metal film resistors and film capacitors, reinforcing Usher's reputation for high-quality manufacturing. It delivers 150wpc into 8 Ohm speakers (260wpc into 4 Ohms). Also on hand will be the Usher DV9 processor. We will also have a Classe CP-800 preamp/DAC. The CP-800 introduces a new architecture for high-end preamplifiers. Capitalizing on the potential for computer-based audio and employing powerful processing tools, the CP-800 offers compelling performance, features and value. Speaker cables will be the Usher Rapport speaker cables. Interconnects will be Nordost Frey and Synergistic Research, power cords Analysis Oval Plus. Front-ends will be the new Oppo BDP-105 and the club owned Sugden Connoisseur BD-1 turntable with a Shure V15 Type 3 cartridge. Yes, it’s a humble turntable, but it pleasantly surprises all with its musicality. The phono stage will be the NAD PP 2i that was very favourably reviewed in the current issue of the Australian HiFi. And for the vinyl lovers, Stephen Price of Tube Sound Audio will briefly present the ReVirginizer record cleaning system. The second half of the music sessions will be our popular BYO. Members and guests are welcome to offer music to share with us all. So bring along your favourite music on CD, SACD, flash drive or vinyl. All we ask is that the music and recordings be interesting. We'll ask you to tell us a little about the artist/recording before it is played. Tracks over 6 minutes will be faded out, to give everyone a fair go. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others of a similar mind. Members and guests welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound. We will welcome you at the door. Venue: Epping Creative Centre Address: 26 Stanley St, Epping When: Sunday 16th June Doors open 1pm Meeting starts at 2pm Best regards, Tom Waters President Sydney Audio Club www.sydneyaudioclub.org.au tomwaters@sydneyaudioclub.org.au
  7. The August 2013 meeting of the Sydney Audio Club sees us once again at Dence Park for an afternoon of fine music and sound and convivial company. This month we will feature Lenard Audio (refer to http://lenardaudio.com/index.html). Lenard Audio is a design and consulting company specialising in electro-acoustic engineering. All Lenard Audio sound systems are designed as fully 4-way active systems for many audio applications including domestic, commercial, professional, studio monitoring and cinema. The key principal behind the design of all Lenard Audio products is to replicate the virtual reality of musical instruments; allowing the listener to experience the music as it was recorded. Lenard Audio was started by John Lenard Burnett during what may have been the most exciting time in Australian rock history, 1966 -1972. John is still very much active in the company today along with his daughter Nel. Detailed history of Lenard Audio can be found at http://www.lenardaud...m/history.html. John also started the Lenard Audio Institute - more detail of that can be found at http://lenardaudio.com/education/. When you are there, mouse-over the "Subjects" link at the top left of the page to discover a wealth of information about many aspects of audio. We are fortunate to have both John and Nel as our guest presenters on the day. The marketing style of Lenard Audio has a strong focus on education and re-connecting with music. Consequently, the presentation part will be brief to allow more opportunity for listening and Q&A. The main speakers that will presented is the Sarabande (refer to http://lenardaudio.c...e_standard.html). Sarabandes are large speakers that house five 100 watt solid state amplifiers and a 4-way active cross-over within each cabinet. A large aesthetically styled heat sink situated on the front of each cabinet holds the amplifiers. The sub bass is produced by two 12 inch speakers located within their own chamber in each cabinet. There is a large port at the bottom of the cabinet where the bass frequency emanates. The pre-amplifier will be the highly regarded new Classe CP-800. Front-ends will be the new Oppo BDP-105 and the club owned Sugden Connoisseur BD-1 turntable with a Shure V15 Type 3 cartridge. The phono stage will be the NAD PP 2i that was very favourably reviewed recently in Australian HiFi. The second half of the music sessions will be our popular BYO.
