  4. I am selling my Onkyo TX-NR905 AV Receiver with a massive 140W/channel - $A995 (freight not included). When released, this was the standout leader from Onkyo’s range of home theatres. With HDMI 1.3a, Dolby® TrueHD, DTS-HD® Master Audio,THX™ Ultra2™ and Audyssey MultEQ® XT—the TX-NR905 7.1-channel home network receiver has a number of advantages that propel it into the home theatre super league. Look to the TX-NR905's network (interfacing with Windows Media Player and Windows Media Connect) to open up a huge reservoir of internet and computer-based audio resources and enjoy the edge in high-definition 1080p video processing from the world’s first receiver to incorporate HQV Reon VX. I'm not going to list all the features because it'll be easier for you to look at the following websites to find out all you need to know: - Onkyo US - http://www.us.onkyo.com/model.cfm?class=Receiver&m=TX-NR905 - Amazon US - http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-NR905-Channel-Theater-Receiver/dp/B000OBMX14 - Review - http://www.crutchfield.com/S-CZlK9XAvWDT/p_580TXN905B/Onkyo-TX-NR905-Black.html - Australian site selling a used TX-NR905 ($A1,800) - http://www.classaaudio.com.au/Avreciever.htm I have upgraded my system & replaced this receiver. It is in excellent condition; I have had it for 3 years as the end of April. This comes with all it's original box, packing, remote, user manual, aerial & other bits - all in 1st class condition. Freight within Australia (or overseas) is dependent on your location as this item exceeds Australia Post's maximum dimensions for packages that it will carry so I have to use a courier company to deliver it. Please do not PM me asking for a freight quote to your location as I am not going to continually ring courier companies for quotes. As an indication, to courier this item from Sydney to Perth would cost approx. $120. I am prepared to arrange local pickup in Sydney. Please PM me with any questions.
  5. Item: Onkyo TX-NR906 AV Receiver Location: Forestville NSW Price: $450 Item Condition: Used, but working well. Reason for selling: Upgraded Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: About 9 years old. I'm the original owner. 4 HDMI inputs, and lots of digital and analogue RCA inputs. Was I think the top of the line Onkyo in its day. Working remote, has Audyssey microphone for calibration. Powerful output - claimed 220W/ch but take that at face value. Heavy beast. Pickup only as I don't have the box, or could arrange for a pack-n-send as required. Attachments have the manual, data sheet and an article from when it was released. 6. Item: Onkyo DX-C110 Location: Melbourne, SE Suburbs Price: $10 ONO Item Condition: OK-ish see notes below Reason for selling: Surplus Payment Method: Pickup - Cash or exchange Extra Info: This beautiful piece of CD playing history originally purchased as part of my first hifi system from the long gone Acoustic Foundry on King William Rd in Hyde Park Adelaide. It formed a nice little team with an ME-240 amp and Krix Impax speakers (both of which are still in daily use at my work). The unit still works. It plays cd's as it should. However the tray doesn't eject. You have to pull it out. The carousel still turns and everything else seems to be spinning. I suspect that a belt has broken or slipped whilst sitting unattended for many years. Will suit a tinkerer/repairer or someone who wants to strip it for parts (sniff...). It hasn't seen any work for many years so as part of my extended clean out it needs to go. Willing to accept, a bitcoin, $100, a bottle of red, a kind word, whatever really. Pictures:

  9. Goodaye all Scored a pair on Onkyo 5C speakers today. What information l can find say the grills come off, but l'll be stuffed if l can shift them. Anybody know for sure? What year also? 30w into 8ohm 2 way. Sound nice, little bassy for me, so might try some poly caps in the crossover's. Grills are perfect but a few marks in the cabinets. regards Bruce
  10. Hi Guys, I'm either getting an Onkyo TX-RZ710 or a TX-NR555 next week and I have a couple wireless speaker questions. I know the RZ is a class above, but i've got a 2nd hand option for the same price (both $650). I notice the TX-NR555 doesn't have rear speakers preouts... Does that mean I'm out of luck if I want any form of wireless rears? (My new house can't have cords going from front to back). I know both support Onkyo NCP-302 FireConnect Wireless Speakers... Is there anyway to link these to the receiver and use 302's as my rears in a 5.1 setup? that would be awesome, but I somehow doubt it. Otherwise, is there another wireless speaker option that I could use in conjunction with either Onkyo amp that you would recommend? Thank you, any help would be great!
  11. Item: Turntable ONKYO CP-5000A belt-drive Location: Brisbane Price: $250 Item Condition: All original. Runs beautifully and excellent physical condition for age. Reason for selling: Downsizing turntables to help fund an upgrade. Payment Method: Pickup south-side of Brisbane, Cash, Paypal. Extra Info: Runs beautifully. Well-built belt-drive turntable from Japan’s golden era of hi-fi. Features stroboscope speed control. This was a back-up turntable and seldom used. Recently serviced and set up in 2016 by Decibel Hi Fi and new Audio Technica AT95E cartridge and elliptical stylus. Stylus brand new with no hours on it. Owes me close to $400. Pictures:
  12. Have to choose one of these turntables to keep. Curious as to which one others would choose, and which cartridge would be a good match for the Luxman? 1. Luxman PD264, mechanically great. Needs new cartridge to replace original cart with tired stylus. 2. Onkyo CP-5000a (circa 1978), recently serviced and fitted with new Audio Technica AT95 cart. Perfect working order. TBH leaning heavily towards the Luxman, but seeking suggestions for a good cartridge match to get the most out of the turntable. Unfortunately keeping both is not an option. Thanks
  13. I have an Onkyo 875 and was hoping to upgrade to a Dolby Atmos pre-amp. If I get a Dolby Atmos pre-amp, can I then use the Onkyo 875 as the Power Amp to power the speakers but not do any of the processing? This way I can save a few dollars until I am ready to purchase a proper Power Amp?
  14. Howdy all, I am presently planning a new system build which will probably take a while to take shape into a finalised list and most likely longer again to track down the components. On the amplification side of things I am leaning towards vintage however this isn't set in stone, the short list so far are the following control/power amp combinations: - Sansui BA-F1 and CA-F1 - Sansui BA-2000 and CA-2000 - Onkyo M-504 and C-304 I suppose the main reason for this post is to find out a couple of things from the experience of others on the forum. What sort of price range should I be expecting, how difficult are they going to be to track down at the right price, and are there other considerations I should have on my list? Also is there anything specific I should look out for/avoid with the above models? In addition I suppose the question that I possibly don't want to know the answer to is would I be better off spending the money on newer equipment instead? Given the time frame is not set in stone, the budget is also relatively flexible I have set aside a hifi fund that will serve only for that purpose so if something is a jump pricewise on these I would still consider it if it means I have to wait a little longer to purchase. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Tex Edit: Wasn't sure weather to post there here or Beginner Advice, please feel free to move it if it is more appropriate there.
  15. Hi everyone There is two integrated amps I'm considering to get me started: Onkyo A-9070 NAD C375BEE I listen mainly to electronica type music, and classic rock, and occasionally classical. Any pointers regarding my list so far? If there's anything else I should be considering let me know! Al
  16. Item: Onkyo Hi-MD Player with Remote and Step-Down Transformer. Location: Sydney, Australia Price: $650.00 Item Condition: Fantastic condition. Kept in smoke free home. Reason for selling: Raising cash to buy upgrade parts for my turntable. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This is a Japanese model and requires a step-down transformer to use in Australia. This is included for you. Pictures:
  17. Item: Onkyo TX-SR875 A/V Receiver Location: Sydney (Sutherland Shire Area) Price: $500 negotiable OR trade for a decent active sub Item Condition: Amp itself = good. Remote = OK Reason for selling: Looking for a change Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This was THE amp to have back in its day, cost me close to $3k if I remember right. Only issue I ever had (and got fixed under warranty) was the front display died, apparently there was a resistor that commonly died, but ever since I got that fixed, it hasn't missed a beat. It is a BEAST of an amp, weighs ~ 25kg, due to the huge amp section. Some of the remote buttons were getting a bit sticky/unresponsive, could probably do with some contact cleaner (I have been using a universal remote the last few years). Will throw in a Harmony 515 universal remote that can fully control the amp, if the price negotiated for the amp is fair. As you probably know, the remote accepts macros (to turn on/off several components at once) and also has remote codes to control the majority of other components (e.g. TV, BD player etc.). Comes with power cable, set up mic and manuals pictured. Couldn't find the AM/FM antennas, but they're available cheap off ebay. Extra Info: ** HDMI Board Replaced under Warranty** Hey Gents, Selling my Onkyo PR-SC5509 Processor, decided to go Atmos and 4K. 19. Item: Onkyo TX-NR1009 AVR (Trade +-) Location: Bowen Hills Brisbane Price: $950 Price Reduced 850 $800 Item Condition: Immaculate Reason for selling: Not Used Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Here I am selling my Onkyo Surround Sound Amplifier. I purchased new for Eastwood Hi Fi a few years ago for $2200 and since then it has been sitting in my hi fi shelf looking back at me yearning for some attention! It has literally only played about 15 movies. I just prefer to listen to 2 channel music. Whilst it was being used, I drove my front channel speakers which are active with the pre out and so it was only driving the surround speakers, so driven minimally. I am not so familiar with all its functions but it sounds awesome with all of the channels fired up (with my Velodyne SPL Ultra Subwoofer, also up for sale). May consider a swap for a good preamplifier, DAC, high quality standmounts or main power amplifier. Will offer a 3 day money back guaruntee if not satisfied and returned in original condition. It has a What HiFi 5 Star rating which you can read the review here: http://www.whathifi.com/onkyo/tx-nr1009/review If it doesn't sell, I will give it to my mother for Christmas to replace her old Marantz AVR. Comes with all of the accesories. "The battle for AV amp supremacy is brutal at around the £1000 mark, but history and previous form suggests that if there’s one company that can hold its own, it’s Onkyo. On paper, the TX-NR1009 looks like it has all the credentials of a top receiver. The subtle, smooth-fronted design is, dare we say, attractive compared to Onkyos of old, and the amp feels sufficiently sturdy. The inclusion of Dolby Pro-Logic IIz, Audyssey DSX and DTS Neo:X means front height, width and surround back speakers can be used in variety of configurations, with nine channels of amplification and two subwoofer outputs to choose from. Seven HDMI inputs lurk around the back, while a front-mounted HDMI socket will come in useful for cameras, camcorders, and other HDMI-equipped peripherals. Great with video, excellent with audioInternet connectivity opens up a raft of online services such as Napster, Last.fm vTuner internet radio, while Spotify Premium subscribers can also stream their favourite tracks and search for new ones. High-tech video processing from HQV is included and you can calibrate the picture for each source. The Onkyo does a good job upscaling a standard-def TV or DVD feed. But it’s sound quality where the Onkyo really earns its stripes, producing a muscular yet expertly controlled sound that works well with The A-Team’s bombastic audio. On the flipside, there’s also a sprinkling of subtlety and finesse that helps to bring the best out of more delicate movie soundtracks. You’re looking at a hugely capable amp for the money here – one that could prove a worry for the current class-leaders."
