  3. Hi guys, i have an NAD T175 pre-amp that seems to be auto-muting the audio when the movie gives a silence. i can hear the relay clicking every time. that is really a problem as to come back in it takes a few seconds and cuts the start of the conversation. if listening to tv, on every commercial change it does the same clicking and muting between the scenes. is there anything that can be done to disable this feature ?
  4. Further information: NAD Masters series M10 BluOS streaming amplifier. (RRP is $4499) I have owned this amplifier since October 2019, and it is a joy to use. Sound quality and the BluOS operating system leave Sonos for dust, and it is flexible and granular in its search capabilities of your own music library. BluOS is currently rated to support libraries of over 200,000 tracks, which is a hell of a lot of albums. Having Airplay2 and Bluetooth is very useful, and if you have Bluetooth headphones, the M10 supports listening to them via two-way aptX HD. Having MQA decoding on-board is a fantastic way to get the most out of Tidal Masters. It's a lot of fun to compare CD to Hi-Res Audio versions of the same recordings, and listen for the improvements. The M10 is a mighty amplifier, using NAD's Hybrid Digital nCore high-end technology (as seen in other NAD high-end Masters series amplifiers), and has won many product-of-the-year awards. This is the hot amplifier on the market right now, and has been incredibly well-designed. The choice of screens to use on the front display is a great touch. NAD have a nice page on the design of the M10 here: https://nadelectronics.com/behind-the-design-of-the-nad-m10/ A datasheet can be found here: https://nadelectronics.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/NAD-M10-Data-Sheet-1.pdf I am regretfully selling as part of a merge of two households. The amp is in very good condition, and I'm happy to answer any questions on it. The following text is from NAD's website: https://nadelectronics.com/product/m10-bluos-streaming-amplifier/ The audio world has shifted. Where once available solely on discs, the best quality of music is now delivered over the internet. Not only does it sound better, but entire catalogues of recorded music are more accessible than ever before. Curated playlists make music selection and discovery easy and fun, while multi-room wireless audio multiplies the possibilities. The NAD Masters M10 combines all of this goodness with state-of-the-art amplification to make it an all-in-one solution that will transport you to your favourite musical destination. MUSIC MEANT TO BE HEARD, NOT SEEN The NAD M10 represents a new kind of high-end audio system that is luxurious and smart, but very discreet. It can perform the same functions that once required a rack full of components and in many ways is superior. The elegant form factor takes up very little space and can even be hidden away, but the beautiful design and colourful display will encourage you to place the M10 front and centre. 5. It was purchased December 2018, so it is a little over a year old now. Still plenty of Warranty left on it. Has not had much use it was driving 4 ATMOS speakers. Upgraded my receiver so no longer require the power amp. It is in perfect condition, coming from a smoke free home. No scratches or dents to be seen. Comes with all original paperwork. Unfortunately a demo is not available in the current virus circumstances. I can however provide a video of fully functioning amp. The CI 940 has 4 channels of clean low distortion power set up in a 2 stereo zone configuration. Boasting 35 watts of continuous power per channel, the CI 940 is designed to drive low impedance speakers and long wire runs. Vanishingly low distortion and near absence of noise allow the music to emerge from a ‘black’ background that enhances stereo perspective and allows the subtle details of the music to be heard clearly. 6. Further information: Purchased from another member and used primarily as a DAC. This was my first upgraded CD player since first buying one in the 80's. CD's sounded so good that I've since upgraded to a Yamaha CD Player. The unit performs well and has fantastic reviews not only as a CD player but also a DAC with separate optical inputs. Includes all original packaging, and remote control that is still in its plastic wrapper. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
  7. Further information: Nad D3020 V1 Bought this item pre-owned two months ago for $350. This amp has minor scratches from the sides as shown on the photos. The remote has no battery and never had a chance to use it. Despite of the cosmetic condition, Sound quality is still excellent. Audition is welcome. 8. Item: Budget CD Player in good working order Price Range: 150 - 350 Item Condition: Used Extra Info: Looking for a good condition used CD player from reputable brands - NAD, Rotel, Marantz, Denon etc. Currently using a cheap Sony cd player model CDP-397 and looking to upgrade to a better player. Bought a 5 disc sony player recently and had to get rid of it as it produced a loud hum. I am in Perth (6060) Thank you.
  9. Further information: Last of the HT room clear out is the NAD T175 HD surround processor which I've owned since new (RRP of $4,000 at the time). Full working order and has been the reliable centre piece of the HT room for many years. Comes with brand new HTR 8 learning remote control, audyssey Mic and power cable. Only known issue is that is has some crackling and popping and odd volume output when using the volume knob on the front (typical of a lot of NAD gear apparently). Using the remote volume control though it's fine. This model (and serial number) is suitable for the VM300 4k passthrough MDC upgrade as well as the AM230 for Dolby Atmos 11.2 outputs if you wanted to create a 4K Atmos NAD surround processor for a bargain price! Features: Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding and Sigma Designs advanced VXP video processing 7.2 Channel output (2 sub outs) Audyssey MultiEQ XT room correction Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ 4 HDMI Inputs, 1 HDMI Out (HDMI 1.3) Photos:
  10. Hey guy's, I need some help. I recently picked up a NAD T758 v3 receiver and set aside today to do the Dirac Live room correction. After hours i still cannot get a measurement it will use. I'm using the supplied mic on tripod stand and have tried it plugged into the T758 (as suggested by NAD) and also via my PC. The issue: Every time i run a measurement point (Test tones from each speaker), at the end i get a Low Signal to Noise ratio error message, regardless of which point i'm measuring and what volume everything is set at etc (I've tried almost all volume options!). The rooms quiet. no other appliances are running except the amp and my PC. I also leave the room during the measurement. The one time i was able to get enough measurement points successfully recorded, it failed during the filter design stage with an error saying the measurements were too poor quality. I've tried another calibration microphone (KRKSystems) with the exact same results as above. I've also tried it through the iOS app. Again, same issues. Has anyone else experienced this or have some suggestions? Thanks.

  15. Can Ship to most cities for $30.00 Further information: RRP$2599 3 weeks old, AS NEW Impeccable condition with all accessories most still in the plastic, suit new buyers. You can see my posts in the owners thread about how I found the C658 in use. But basically this thing is extremely powerful, Dirac is a game changer for sure and it seamlessly integrated my subs with my fronts which was the main reason I purchased it, so that box was ticked. For years I have listened to my music without any eq or bass or treble, I've been all about tweaking placement of speakers etc. to get the most out of my gear. The eq capabilities on this thing are insane, you seriously feel like you have your own recording studio, you can tweak the sound to within an inch of its life which for some would be heaven, but for me its made me a little obsessive compulsive! I know for a fact that if I invested more time in getting the sound right I would definitely get there but given where I've come from I'm making a gut call early and going back to the basics. What that is I'm not entirely sure at this stage but will see if this gets snapped up and go from there. Anyone that's ever brought things from me knows I look after my gear probably better than my kids so be assured this unit is in impeccable condition, not a mark on it, and comes from a smoke free home. WARRANTY - Balance of 2 year warranty (Owned for 3 weeks) will be transferred to new owner. 16. Further information: This immaculate condition NAD Sorround Sound Receiver is now ready to go to a new home. Bought from Klapp Audio (Prahan) and well looked after since new. Always stayed in my Hi-Fi rack and comes from a smoke and pet free home. I have the original box so this can be sent via courier if the buyer can organize the transportation. NAD, the highly regarded manufacturer of high-performance audio components, incorporating NAD's ""Music First"" philosophy as the cornerstone to their ambitious design goals for this T 762 made in England. The T 762 offers Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, DTS, DTS-ES, and DTS Neo:6 decoding, along with 7.1 Matrix, Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Pro Logic II, and the proprietary NAD EARS circuitry for creating natural surround sound from any format input, 7.1, 6.1, 5.1, and 2.0 stereo, digital or analog. Also included is an HDCD decoder plus a ""Stereo Enhanced"" mode that uses no processing, but allows the stereo signal to be sent to any or all of the selected 7.1 channels, depending on listener preference. There is also an analog bypass mode for stereo purists. Surround processing is automatically detected via the digital inputs, and the most appropriate decoding format is switched in. Conversion of the decoded digital bit stream is performed with high resolution and extremely linear D/A converters, carefully selected for their performance capabilities. The EARS (Enhanced Ambience Recovery System) circuitry uses DSP technology to extract the natural ambience in a stereo recording and redirect it to the surround channels, creating a warm, natural reverberant effect without any artificiality. Full Disclosure Power rating, with all channels driven simultaneously, at any frequency from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with less than 0.08% THD at 8 and 4 ohms. Also specified is Dynamic Power at 8 ohms, 4 ohms, and 2 ohms. The T 762 delivers 100 watts per channel of continuous power with all six channels driven simultaneously at rated distortion into 4 or 8 ohms. Dynamic power is rated at 300 watts into 2 ohms. Dynamic power is rated at 300 watts into 2 ohms Five A/V presets can be stored for instant recall with unique speaker configuration, level, distance, surround mode, and tone control settings for instant recall. This allows a user to set up one type of playback for multichannel music and a completely different setup for movie soundtracks. Channel volume settings for sub, center, and surround channels can be adjusted on the fly without entering any setup menus. Pick up (VIC 3133) is preferred, but I can package it up for the buyer to arrange own transport arrangement. NAD HTR 2 Remote is included. 17. Hi all, The current setup is NAIM Nait driving two B&W CM9 floorstanders and NAD T762 (soon to be replaced) driving the center and surrounds ( B&W) Oppo 105D being used as a pre amp, connected to NAIM via balanced o/p for music (CD, SACD, Bluray etc) Need a streamer to be used with NAIM ( maybe via 105D ) Thinking about getting an Auralic Aries or NAD C658 (with Dirac) as the streamer. Leaning more towards the C658 as Auralic don't have much of a presence here in Oz? ( for after sales issues) What are your thoughts? Cheers.

  20. Item: NAD 5120 Turntable with Ortofon OM5E Location: Melbourne, Australia Price: $250 Item Condition: Excellent overall. Perfect working condition, great cosmetically (perspex lid has superficial scratches from years of being wiped/cleaned). Reason for selling: Upgraded to a new TT Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: This NAD 5120 is a time capsule. I bought it mint from a gentleman in the outer Melbourne suburbs in 2012, he had bought it brand new in the late 80s, used it for a couple of months then stopped using it and had put it back in its original box. For 20+ years it was in storage in its original box and when I bought it I had the pleasure to unbox it again. The sticky tape had almost perished / disintegrated and left a sticky mess.. nothing a citrus cleanser can't fix of course. Sounded pretty good out of the box (I had it hooked up to a Rega Fono Mini) but I knew the original cartridge and stylus would've been long past its best before date. I put a fresh Ortofon OM5E, a new drive belt and took it to Carlton AV for a proper setup and voila, it sings! Over the last 9 years I have enjoyed the NAD, listening on average only 1-2 hours per month - it did not get much use at all. Very very clean deck overall and well looked after. Stylus is regularly cleaned with a carbon bristle brush and has dust cap included. The NAD 5120 is the epitome of NAD's quirkiness + 80s overengineering. The sub-plate is floating, suspended by springs, isolated from the main chassis from vibration. The counterweight is freely sprung in a magical 80s viscoelastic liquid in a reservoir! NAD calls it DVA - Dynamic Vibration Absorber. Patrick Bateman would've been really into this. Lastly, it has a super handy auto-stop function which I really like.. you can listen to records to sleep and not worry about the stylus being ground to oblivion. Own (and listen) to this 80s vintage piece of cool. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  24. this is kinda a 2ch problem with 5.1 gear, never mix the 2 they say.... After having 5+ sets of speaker, 5+ Amps , lots of subs, cables and sources, REW and an UMIK-1 in my living room over the last 18 months one thing is clear, My room sucks. I have massive hump between 1 to 5Khz that just makes 2Ch listening unbearable, Yamaha YPAO does settle it down but sucks all the life out of the music. The room needs lots of treatment, that's not going to happen, maybe a little but not to the extent that it needs. I have been playing around DSP/EQ with JRiver on a PC using REW with aUMIK-1 over the last week via a Music Fidelity M5si amp and actually got a reasonable result, it can be better, and has proved to me that DSP room correction does work. the equipment chain is as follows, Sources, HTPC, BluRay, CD, HDD Music, Spotify/Tidal (on the Yamaha) into a Yamaha RV-X 1081 used as Preamp only, > Emotiva XPA-5 > either Ambience Superslims 1400 or Quad S5 for the mains, 2 x REL R3 Subs running from the Yamaha in mono via a DSPeaker Anti-Mode 8033 Cinema and stereo line-level in from the Mains (Ambience don't need the subs). Centre is an old Quadal that I still love, the rears are Mirage Omi 350. for those that aren't Familiar with the REL subs, they have a .1 RCA input with volume only that you run from the AVR and a Line-Level input with Volume and Freq that you run from the speakers, you can run them both at once and tune them in. Best of both worlds the Quad S5 with the REL T3 running in stereo via line-level in are my pick ATM, that combo just suits rock a little more the Ambiences are very picky with the room, so I need to run them both via Dirac to see which ones I keep. Jury is still out on that one, but one set has to go. the MF M5si is now gone, fantastic amp but it didn't fix the hump (silly of me thinking it might) and had to go to finance the next step I am not massively into movies much these days, but still enjoy Concerts on Bluray and multi-channel music a bit, the 5.1 system gets used more for Netflix and Tv more than anything and I'm really heavily getting back in to 2Ch, hence the change. music is mainly Prog rock to Jazz, I don't consider myself a Audiophile, but what to get the best out of my gear. Budget, about $2.5k tops. scenario #1 Nad C658 between the Yamaha RV-X 1081 and the XPA-5 on the main chs only, the analogue in on the C658 can be set up as a HT Bypass, so the 5.1 will be basically untouched but 2 ch Spotify/Tidal and HHD music will all be running via the C658. Dirac will be limited to the mains speakers and line level in of the subs only. but this is probably the best 2ch solution. cost ~$2300 to $2500 with Dirac full scenario #2 Nad T758 v3 get rid of the Yamaha RV-X 1081 and replace with the T758 as a pre amp only (maybe use the amp stage for Atmos, but Atmos is not really on the radar ATM) this will give me a better 5.1 system, allow me to get rid RV-X 1081 and the DSPeaker Anti-Mode. Hearing rather good reports on the T758 with Dirac as a music pre, but it can't be as good as the C658 you would think (or could it?) but their feature set is basically the same on both with Bluesound built in for all streaming/HDD duties. because will sell the RV-X 1081 and the DSPeaker Anti-Mode this could be less that $1500 with full Dirac scenario #3 Emotiva XMC-1 Emotiva are selling refurb XMC-1 pre's with 4k video and full Dirac for $1100USD, I can go via a friend in the states if they don't deliver to Aust (no Aust distributor listed on their website no more), problem they are out of stock, they were not yesterday, they are today....bummer replace the Yamaha with the XMC-1 and have a killer 5.1 and 2 ch system but will have to buy something like a Bluesound Node 2i to do the Streaming duties as the XMC-1 does not do that. selling the Yamaha and DSPeaker Anti-mode might pay for the Bluesound Node 2i, so with delivery it will still cost around $2k both the Nads are thin on the ground ATM, cant find a C658 to demo but have found a hi-fi store that has the T758 and a C388, they are willing to set both up as 2ch preamps via separate Power amps to see if the T758 holds up as a 2ch pre. I really like how Spotify runs via the Yamaha, for backgroud music. I can use the Spotify app on my phone and its turns on the Yamaha automatically and plays, this is a big plus to the wife as she hates having to touch any of the remotes or gear, so in a way I want to T758 to sound great because it should operate similar. I really have to make it simple. the XMC-1 will require turning things on manually via remote methinks.... but there is a Sonus One lying around somewhere if it gets too hard 😉 so, any other options or directions? which would be your choice? ta Marty

However the amp is in great condition as is the remote. Reason for selling: NLR, thinking of changing to tube integrated amp to have a change! Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, i think shipping will be cost prohibitive. Extra Info: This is a great integrated amplifier just below the NAD Master Series, very solidly built , with seven inputs, bass and treble settings, and with a clean sound. Works like a treat with with Bluesound Node 2i and Synology NAS (for those that stream or have digitised music) in my setup. It is still sold in the USA for USD 1750 which is about AUD2600 ex GST.
