Australian retail price for these is over $20,000; Mark Levinson No. 531H Monaural Power Amplifier The No 531H and No532H are both true mono-block designs with independent power supplies for each channel and are rated at 300W per channel into 8 ohms. The transformers and power supply designs deliver unsurpassed dynamics and transient responses for today’s demanding audio formats and provide stability with even the most difficult to drive loudspeakers. Fully differential circuitry ensures that balanced input signals stay that way throughout the signal path and traditional Mark Levinson “Hurricane” binding posts offer secure termination to the loudspeaker. The four amplifiers in the No500H Series are the definition of truly outstanding performance in their respective categories. Drawing from the Mark Levinson heritage, while utilizing a new, straightforward, balanced, current-feedback design creates a new series of amplifiers that must be listened to in order to be fully appreciated. The final result is impressive even for the Mark Levinson high standard of excellence. Item: Martin Logan Summit X loudspeakers Location: Sydney Inner West Price: $8000 ono Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: Relocating overseas Payment Method: Pickup - Cash Extra Info: My bad boys are reluctantly up for sale ?, as a new life overseas beckons. They were bought here from the original owner. There are many online reviews if you don’t already know these amazing speakers. People talk of their accuracy, bass (24Hz!), soundstage, airiness. It was the bass and depth of field/3D that sold me. My previous speakers were the legendary Yamaha NS1000M, with fully renovated crossovers, wiring, new tweets and mids, and the Summit X’s are noticeably superior. Yes, they need proper setup, an amp with ample current and a room that will allow them to ‘breathe’. High numbers of watts are not necessary. They will take on the ‘flavour’ of any amp you choose (as did the previous Summits), despite the 200w amp powering each of the 2 woofers in each box. Those here who know me will recall it took 3 years to find ‘the’ amp. It was an ‘aha!’ moment. Be aware that any upstream deficiencies will be fully revealed (as with the Yammies). No boxes (small house, insufficient storage), new covers and have the owner manuals. I am open to offers, but please be realistic. And yes Marc, a donation will be made to SNA when sold. Pictures:
