My first real speakers after years of listening to music on cheap all in one radio/hifi boxes. They were a revelation to me at the time. Would be perfect for a small room or garage set up. I think they are 731s based off google image searches. No boxes so would prefer local pick up in brisbane Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  7. Item: Mission 701 speakers (x2) Location: Lindfield, Sydney Price: $200 o.n.o. Item Condition: Perfect, no wear or faults Reason for selling: Changing needs - smaller accommodation means insufficient space to set up and so I find that I am not using them Payment Method: Cash on pick-up Extra Info: DESCRIPTION Mission 701 has remained a well-regarded model for many years. As well as being well-reviewed for its full rich sound and high efficiency, it has a sturdy build quality and an attractive black wood-grain finish. Can be used on stands (not included) or on a large bookshelf. These speakers have an unusually powerful and clear bass for their size, a smooth top-end, great depth and imaging in the mid-range, and a warm sound without excessive brightness. They can compete with modern speakers at a significantly higher price and are particularly suited to classical, jazz and acoustic music genres because of their good detail and sound colour, although users seem to like them across a range of genres. Great for home theatre as well. They can produce plenty of volume if that's what you want, although I have appreciated their clarity in a small setting. See specs below. CONDITION Perfect working condition, never driven hard, only used occasionally at low volume for short periods, so no internal wear. Also perfect external condition, absolutely no marks or faults, even on the front grills. Always kept indoors in smoke-free, pet-free, child-free home. II bought them new and I am very careful with my equipment. MY HISTORY To confirm my reliability as a private seller, please view my feedback on Ebay (you will need to look at previous years as I have been using Gumtree recently): http://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=winner.grinner&ftab=AllFeedback&items=25 SPECS https://www.cnet.com/products/mission-700-series-701-speaker/specs Type: 2-way passive, 2 driver loudspeaker system Frequency Response: 50 Hz to 20 kHz Crossover Frequency: 4000 Hz Recommended Amplifier: 25 to 100 W Impedance: 8 Ω Sensitivity: 89 dB Bass: 1 x 165 mm profiled GC cone Tweeter: 1 x 25 mm soft dome Enclosure: bass reflex Dimensions: 450 (H) x 215 (W) x 300 (D) mm Weight: 6.8 Kg MANUAL https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/mission/701.shtml USER REVIEWS http://www.testfreaks.co.uk/hifi-speakers/mission-electronics-701/ Pictures:
  8. Item: Mission 710 Speakers Location: Carnegie VIC 3163 Price: $50 or some beer. Item Condition: scratches. Lots of them. wood veneer isn't so great. Needs a sand & stain. See below for more info Reason for selling: I don't need 3 pairs of speakers to listen to stereo, lounge room is filling up, my 'fix-a-upper' list is growing when it should be shrinking. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I bought these off ebay for $150 because I thought they were the coolest looking speakers. I tried to find out if it was the original driver early before purchase but Mission had a lot of updates & changes that it was hard to know what the proper drivers where. It's meant to have a Peerless KP825 bass driver. I've looked but can't get one. I was going to hold on to these until one came up but when everyone questions you on why you have so many speakers it's time to let a few go. Here is the internals of this speakers http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/topic/122156-mission-710-bass-unit/ Sound: It doesn't sound too bad. The seas tweeter is beautiful. bass is light for this sealed box but still very enjoyable. Sounded good with a $170 SMSL Q5 amp with a bit of bass boost. Size: Hight:52cm L: 29cm D: 24.5cm Pictures:

  10. Item: Mission 734 floorstanders with Mission M7C2 centre Location: Melbourne, Vic Price: SOLD $250 for 734, $75 for M7C2 Item Condition: Good, including the grills. Reason for selling: Bought new speakers Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: 734 floorstanders I am the first owner, bought them late 90's. They have been amazing speakers and even when I started auditioning newer, more expensive speakers I kept being impressed at how well these competed. They are made in England and sound MUCH better than most later Missions. The mid-range is classic British, and sounds wonderful with both female and male vocals and also does a surprisingly good job with electronic music. They are a fairly warm sounding speaker and produce plenty of bass. The soundstage is probably the most impressive and unexpected feature at this level. The main port is at the front, so if you need to you can push them up against a wall and they still sound good. In late 2011 one of the cones cracked (common to this brand I'm told) so I had all four replaced by Speakerbits in South Melbourne at a cost of $330. Sourcing original cones was price prohibitive, so trainspotters will have noticed the black cones used differ from the lighter coloured originals. I couldn't notice a difference in sound quality. 8ohm, about 90dB sensitivity I think. I have run them with a Rotel RSX1056 AVR and it drives them easily. Size 840 x 204 x 335mm. M7C2 centre I bought this about seven years ago as it was the closest match I could find for the 734s. Since moving into a new house I haven't bothered putting up my rear speakers, and with my new fronts I've decided to stick with two-channel. Dimension 510 x 155 x 212mm. There is a box that was built to support the TV over the speaker which you can also have. It is 'black Japanese' colour, which matches the 'black-brown' of the Ikea entertainment unit. I can demo for interested parties. I do have the original boxes, but would prefer local pick-up for now. I also have a Denon two-channel receiver which could drive the 734s, but I haven't pulled it out of storage to take pics yet so haven't listed it yet. Pictures:

  12. Item: Mission 750 Limited Edition, 20 Anniversary bookshelf speakers Location: Perth Price: 299 neg. Shipping over to the Eastern States would probably be around $30. Item Condition: very good but some marks are present Reason for selling: were bought for my test setup but with them having tweeters on the bottom of the cabinet, I could not get enough highs with all the junk on my bench obstructing the line of sight Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, direct transfer Extra Info: I bought them to have a decent sound on my test setup when doing final listening tests. I did not anticipate such tiny thing to be in any way spectacular. But when testing Electrocompaniet EC-3 / AW-100DMB combo - particularly when driven hard(ish) - they began to sing. Hardish, meaning about 30-40% of AW-100DBM's 100W/ch. The blurb: To celebrate their 25th anniversary Mission launched the 750 Limited Edition bookshelf speakers. Only 7000 pairs of this little gorgeous sculpture are being made, and then it's over. The 750 is an entirely new speaker, based on no older Missions. It comes as a tiny but weighty 2-way model, clad in lush real rosewood or black ash veneer, and looking not unlike a Sonus Faber Extrema (after all this is an Italian magazine, so I have to honour my host, comprende?). The driver compliment is made up of a 13cm Aerogel woofer, and a silk dome tweeter (as in the other Mission 75-series speakers). The bi-wiring binding posts are heavily gold-plated, and there is a reflex port at the back, which precludes use close to a wall. Sensitivity is 86dB/W@1m, and the nominal impedance is 6 Ohms, not hard to drive. Pictures:
  13. Mission M53 full range stereo speakers + Mission e3asr subwoofer Perfect match, offer clean, bright and detailed sound, plus stunning bass. Excellent conditions, exceptional sound. Price: $750 for the set. Pick up only. Price is firmed, no offer please. Reason for sale: no longer need it. The M53 tower speaker is an excellent full range loudspeaker which works extremely well as a stereo loudspeaker, and which can also become the basis of an excellent home theatre system if required. The Mission E3ASR is a 300 watt subwoofer in a chunky, impressive cabinet, delivering a bigger, more impressive bass soundstage on your favourite movie soundtracks. 15. Hi all, I think this is a long shot because i think they would be a rare item here in Australia but I thought I would try anyway. As the title reads I need a pair of Mission Elegante speaker stands that were created by Mission to stand their Elegante E80 and E81 speakers. Any condition is fine, I can arrange shipping interstate at my cost and I am based on the Sunshine Coast. Here's a link to how the stands look http://www.mission.c...Tab=16&Tab2=e81 Thanks Dean
  16. Greetings All, I am looking to upgrade my stereo hifi system to a 5.1 or 7.1 home theatre system. Currently I own a NAD C370 Stereo Amplifier with Mission M74 floor standing stereo speakers. I am considering a Yamaha Aventage or Denon home theatre A/V receiver for surround sound, but would like to maintain the same or better audio quality I am enjoying with my current NAD amplifier. I realise I have the option of retaining the NAD amplifier for my stereo audio and buying a separate A/V receiver for video, however as my space is limited, I would also like to use my existing Mission stereo speakers as part of my home theatre configuration. I am after two pieces of advice: 1. Any recommendations for an A/V receiver to match or exceed the audio quality of the old NAD C370? 2. Can I mix home theatre rear, centre and sub woofer speakers with my Mission M74 pair? If so, any recommendations for a value for mone but quality speaker set up? Looking forward to your advice! ChilliMonkey P.S. The style of music I listen to with my current hifi set up is classical, jazz, instrumental and folk/world music, mostly.
