Item: Audio Research PH6 phono Location: Sydney West NSW 2190 Price: $2995 Item Condition: As new except one small mark as high lighted on photo Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I bought this phono few months ago from Sydney authorised Audio Research dealer as a store demo unit, so it is still under Australia warranty, condition is as new except one small mark as shown in the photo, you can't really tell unless looking for it. It works really well with Shelter 901 MC (0.5mv), Lyra Delos MC (0.6mv), Nagaoka MP500 MM (3mv), those are carts I have (had), I believe it would be the best match with MC from 0.5mv to MM (3mv), my finding seems to be inline with reviews on the web. It hasn't get much use as I have other toys, it's from smoke and pet free home, I have the original box so shipping is not a issue, but pick up is preferred. Further information: Lots of info on this amp on the web - but basically is it an integrated version of the legendary Luxman C-5000 pre-amp. Made from '79 to '81 it was rated at 100wpc (8ohm), but like many amps of the day that was very understated and in fact tests at 150wpc (8ohm) on the test bench. This amp came from another SNA member a few years ago and has then been recapped, as required, (by Vintage Audio Repairs & Restorations) and had the wooden case refinished. Has been used in my second system for the last few years and performed beautifully with a wide range of speakers. (Ambience Ribbons, Rogers Studio 1, JBL 4313b, Infinity Kappa 7) Selling as I found a mint L-100 to put in its place. Can be demo'd at Tennyson, Brisbane. The real 20-bit super linear converter of right-and-left channel independence is carried in the D/A converter. Outstanding D/A conversion is performed in response to the 20-bit 8 time oversampling signal made from a digital filter. Moreover, the difference among sampling frequencies, such as CD, DAT, and satellite broadcasting, is identified automatically in a digital multi-interface circuit.
