  1. Extra Info: seeking wooden case to suit a Vintage Marantz 2330, case model is WC-43
  2. Hi! First time posting here! I’m looking for purchasing advice in relation to the Richter Mentor V speakers. I have a Pro-ject Debut Carbon Esprit and a Marantz 2252b and I’m looking at the Mentors to replace Klipsch R15M speakers that I got to start my system off. There’s a bit of information/reviews on the smaller Merlin’s online, but not too much info on the Mentors. Does anyone have any opinions or sage wisdom in relation to the Mentors and how they would go with my setup? Cheers
  3. Further Information: Hi, this is basically a re-badged “Clearaudio” turntable. Something similar in there Range. This is Marantz’s return table, last one made over 20 years ago. Comes with a MM cartridge on a high quality tone-arm, super quite motor, thick heavy Acrylic platter on a acrylic plinth with isolation feet, google to find more info online. delivery anywhere in Australia included in the price. I have the original double box.
  4. Further Information: This is a lovely 1980's tuner that sounded gorgeous and looked the part for the last 15 years. At some point it developed a tuning issue, which I had repaired by CVE in Coburg. I wasn't very happy with the job, it worked properly for a week and then developed a hum. I was then away in the UK and couldn't take it back. Silver colour. Gyroscopic tuning wheel runs smoothly. Very satisfying to use. I am not sure what is wrong with it, but I no longer want to deal with CVE. The receipt for $150 for the repair is shown. This is probably an easy fix for someone who knows what they are doing. I am only after the cost of repair (approx) and then I'm sure it we be lovingly restored by you or someone you know. I've gone digital now, which isn't as much fun and doesn't sound as good - but space being space, you know the deal?! Have fun, pick up is in Brunswick. Postage to other states considered.
  5. Further Information: Hopefully will have success on this platform selling my Marantz SR5015 receiver which has been well taken care of used in a dark air condition room with an external Marantz 7 channel power amp as the speaker drive unit. Have all necessary original packaging including manual and other materials. Photo shows it with Isoacustic feet however unit will be sold with original feet and also the EGM usb cap is also excluded from sale. Regrettable bought a Marantz SR6015 at an okay new price that is replacing my SR5015, some say I should have bought a Marantz Cinema 50 which is the new platform it’s just a bit of a price jump between the SR6015 and Cinema 50 for me; anyways now I have to sell my SR5015 now. I believe the price I am asking is fair. Would prefer a local pickup but if you want it shipped we will discuss that. Any questions just ask. As seen in photos unit is in excellent condition no damage or major scratches.
  6. Mint condition, quality Marantz SR6012 avr with original accessories (as per pictures). This unit has the well known and justified Marantz sound for both MUSIC and MOVIES combined with their great build quality. The unit has been used in a 5.1.4 atmos set up once a week in a small HT room, smoke, pet and children free. The unit has 9 internal amps but can process 11 channels if you add an external stereo amplifier. examples of set ups that can be used include: 2.0 (stereo listening) 5.1/7.1 (basic surround sound with 1 or 2 subwoofers) 5.1.2, 5.1.4 (using 2 or 4 atmos speakers with 1 sub) or 5.2.2, 5.2.4 (same atmos with 2 subwoofers) 7.1.2, 7.1.4 (using 2 or 4 atmos speakers with 1 sub/external amp) or 7.2.2, 7.2.4 (same atmos with 2 subwoofers/external amp) Top of the line Audyssey xt32 for room EQ and correct single or multiple subwoofer set up. this unit has 2 independent sub outs, dont get confused with lower level avr's that have 2 sub outs but are actually just a single line that has been split internally and cant eq 1 or 2 subs correctly. Output: Watts RMS per Channel (6 Ω) 185 Watts Watts RMS per Channel (8 Ω) 110 Watts The Marantz SR6012 comes with premium internal components and design including AKM AK4458 32-bit D/A converters. (note: this unit has the higher level AKM AK4458 DAC's not the outsourced alternatives used after the AKM factory fire). Marantz specialized HDAM engineering, Current Feedback circuitry Hybrid PLL Clock Jitter Reducer. 4K/60 Hz full-rate pass-through, 4:4:4 color resolution, HDR and BT.2020. Dolby Vision compatibility and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) AirPlay, Bluetooth, Internet Radio, Spotify Connect, Network Audio Streaming eARC (Enhanced Audio Return channel; via future firmware update) Access to Marantz app (free download) Audyssey editor app for even more EQ options($31 download) Online Audio Services Support : Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Deezer, Amazon Music Sound formats: Dolby® Sound Technology Dolby® Atmos™, Dolby® TrueHD, Dolby® Surround DTS™ Technology DTS:X™, DTS Neural:X™, DTS-HD™ Master Audio Smart Voice Assistant: Works with Alexa, Works with Google Assistant, Works with Siri Plus many more features. My Opinion based on use: - this unit has been used once a week for 3 hours for playing physical media (bluray/usb movies) and kept covered and powered off when not in use (never left on standby) - Marantz and DENON are owned by the same company but they are quite different. The SR6012 is a superior avr in all areas that i experienced: Build Quality including better speaker binding posts, internal construction HDAM, runs cooler due to better internal design, good power output, far better for music, good channel separation for surround sound in movies and even the remote is laid out better. I am happy to discuss the sale and answer valid questions, do a basic demo, with any genuine buyer. SALE CONDITIONS: Pick up: cash only Pick up must be within 24 hours of sale No third party pick ups (scammers) you pick up you pay, not arranged by another person. Freight: EFT transfer, to be transferred at time of sale. Paypal can be accepted (paypal fee added to price) payment at time of sale. I can suggest using Transdirect website for quotes as they have a list of freight companies. I use TNT Express and Couriers Please, both have depots nearby, and i can drop the avr into a depot if they are used. Happy to work in with a buyer but in the end you must decide how the item will be shipped and insured. Item will be packed in a strong avr box and padded, labelled very well. Item will not be shipped until any and all purchase/costs are confirmed and cleared, sale is final. Thank you

  18. Hi everyone, I have a vintage Marantz amplifier that I reckon has an issue. After using it for less than 30 minutes with a turntable in the phono input it feels very hot to the touch and recently has had a rather unpleasant smell coming from it too. Does anyone have any experience with this and/or is there a good repair or service place in the Melbourne area I may be able to take it to? Thanks in advance
  19. Further Information: Used daily for a number of years until everything was packed away when I moved to a smaller place. Always used in a child and animal free house with no noticeable blemishes. 11.2 channels of processing (9 channels of amplification) with MultEQ XT32 room correction, which supports independant subwoofer calibration. Dolby Atmos & DTS X A few things to note: - Had the HDMI board replaced under warranty by QualiFI. Continued to work perfectly after that. - Adjusting volume via the remote works perfectly, but using the front panel dial makes the volume go randomly up and down. Works fine if you just use the remote. - Started randomly going into standby. Resolved this by turning auto-standby off. More details about this unit can be found here - https://www.marantz.com/en-us/product/av-receivers/sr6012 Note that I'll include two HDMI cables and you'll need to reset the room correction when you start using it. I also have the box, so it'll come nicely packed and ready to go Cheers, Mike
  20. So I have 2 of these amps and both have issues. The first one was running fine for some time then occasionally the relay would click and the sound would cut out. Eventually it got worse. Sometimes I would have to turn it on and wait a couple of minutes for the relay to fire before any sound would come out. Then it eventually stopped eorking altogether. The other issue is that it won't remember the saved setting if left for any period of time longer than a day or 2. I assumed it was a capacitor issue going by the fact it's old and how it gradually got worse. I pulled it apart and replaced all the large capacitors on the main board but the relay issue is not resolved. I have not checked the settings issue as it doesn't output any sound so I put it aside. I aquired another one and it works but also has the same issue with saving settings. I like these amps because of the built in graphic equalizer. Any suggestions on what it could be other than caps?

  23. Hi Yesterday I was indulging in my regular afternoon of disc spinning. Inspired by Currently Spinning I gave the DBT A Southern Rock Opera a good airing (read play it loud) given the bride was out shopping. Act 1 went off without a hitch. Put on Act 2 listening through to the tragic ending. Wife arrived home so out I went to bring in the shopping, on return to the CD player I pressed eject..... no CD. Thought I must be having a Seniors moment. Retraced the steps.... no CD. Put another in the tray and it played. Did my head in. Not long after had to go out but it had me puzzled. Got out up this morning determined to get to the bottom of it. Now me and screwdrivers or any tools for that matter do not have a good relationship so it was with some trepidation that I set to work on the Pearl Lite and endeavoured to see if my mind was in tact or if I was already on the slippery slope! What did it reveal....... Yes in in the immortal words of Ms Chaberlain “this thingo ate my CD!” Now that I know that I wasn’t going mad, has this happened to anyone here before? I have owned the Marantz from new for nearly four years without any problems. It is a great player for discs and as a dac and I love the sound. Anyway now where did I leave my glasses?

  25. Item: Marantz Model 104 AM/FM Tuner Location: Williamstown, Victoria Price: $170 $100 Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Now priced at new lower price! Grab it before I change my mind!!! Well what can I say... except that it's a thing of beauty. You know the saying, they just don't make 'em like they used to. Well that goes for this classic Marantz tuner. Had it running last night and it has a warm sound while casting a wide soundstage with lots of detail. I was surprised how good it sounds. Haven't listened to it for ages and my system has improved dramatically since I bought this tuner. It's in great condition considering its age. A few light marks on top and a couple of small bumps in the top edge of the fascia, but not really noticeable unless you're looking for it. Most importantly, all the lights on the display work, including the needle which is used for tuning. This would look great on your equipment rack next to other classic Marantz gear, or a nice tube setup! Pictures:
