  1. Item: Lenehan Audio MLT3- 2018 models Location: PERTH Price: $4200- Rrp approx 8500. Item Condition: 9-10 Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Have boxes so can pack and send anywhere. Genuine Boxes say weight is 37 kilos each. https://www.lenehanaudio.com.au/ml3.html https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=95236.msg951583#msg951583 The ML3 was designed with one specific goal in mind: Reproduce the input signal better than any Loudspeaker currently in production. The task is Herculean of course and we are very well aware of many other such attempts both present and in the past. What size room will this Loudspeaker be built for? There is no doubt that an 8inch two way will drive a room of reasonable dimensions only! We're talking here of around 140 cubic mtrs | 5000 cubic feet with dimensions approximately 6mtrs x 8mtrs x 3mtrs. This is certainly a decent size living room. Due mainly to it’s PRC Xover and bottom vent design, the ML3 will drive a room as small as 50 cubic mtrs | 1700 cubic feet with no bass boom whatsoever! OK, but how much energy can an 8 inch two way produce? I mean, will they have enough steam in the bass for me? After all sometimes when I’m in the mood I like to get into some Rage Against the Machine or Tool or even Faithless. But at the same time I mostly listen at moderate levels to Jazz and Classical music. ML3’s have, we believe; state of the art bass reproduction. Rock solid into the mid 20hz region, their speed articulation and detail in the lower frequencies is the foundation for the rest of the frequency range. The ML3 power handling is huge! mainly because of the immense high power understressed Xover. We believe the ML3 is the closest thing to the universal Holy Grail of balanced high end design that is possible to currently achieve. In a room of approximately 130 cubic mtrs or 4500sq ft the ML3 will play flat to near 25hz in the listening chair! And no it won't boom in the bass and be impossible to set up like many others. You won't for instance have to set them up 6ft into the room to get a decent balance. In respect of imaging and soundstage depth the ML3's will throttle your senses. In our test room with the ML3’s set up 75cm (2.5ft) off the front wall and 2.75mtrs apart with a listening distance of 3.2mtrs image width is at least 2mtrs wider than the loudspeakers with 3 dimensional soundstage that goes back through the wall!! Belafonte live at Carnegie hall for instance is simply huge with tremendous image and dimensional stability. Detail within the soundstage we believe is currently SOTA (state of the art). Speed, bass slam and transient abilities are also currently at the leading edge of moving coil loudspeaker design. The reasons for the ML3’s intrinsic superiority are many, but the unique and world's first acoustical foam baffle design probably heads the list. This baffle makes the enclosure of the ML3's ostensibly invisible to the low and high frequency drivers. Try this: put your hands around your mouth like your going to yell at someone 200mtrs down the road, but flatten them out so they don’t cup like a cone. OK, now turn to someone and recite a simple phrase, then take your hand away and recite the same phrase. The difference in the sound of your voice is of course amazing . You were listening to distortion of course and it’s obvious; Yes? That’s why all speakers with baffles of any sort are inferior. ML3’s bass loading is proprietary, the port is huge and under stressed so that at high sound pressure levels it still supports the bass driver, in fact it’s close to linear at all drive inputs. Rock solid extended bass that does not produce a grungy type of incoherent bloom underneath the mid’s and high’s. The corollary here is phenomenal transparency that hitherto has only been the province of the best full range electrostatics but with punch weight and authority that the former has simply never been capable of. As with all the ML series the Xover is hand built and hardwired. After run in each Xover is handtuned to each host loudspeaker in front of a measurement microphone to a virtually zero tolerance. Each Xover is subtly different to every other ML Xover because each Loudspeaker itself is an individual unto itself. The end result though is imaging and soundstaging perfection. These Loudspeakers can pull off the ultimate disappearing act, no doubt. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  4. Item: Lenehan MLT3 floorstanding loudspeakers - titanium grey colour Location: Melbourne (3015) Price: $2,900 Item Condition: Very good Reason for selling: Too many speakers, need space Payment Method: Pickup - cash or bank transfer Extra Info: Purchased these speakers from @krebetman at the end of October 2019. Since then I have purchased another pair of floorstanders (way too many good deals popping up on SNA!) and now I am running out of space. @krebetman provided excellent photos and additional information in his ad, see link below. This pair has been priced to sell quickly (FYI - as at 1 November 2019 there is another pair of titanium grey MLT3s available for sale in WA, however, the asking price for those is $4,100). Audition can be organised upon request. Photos:
  5. Item: Lenehan MLT3 Floorstanding Loudspeakers - titanium grey colour Location: Melbourne Price: $3100 Item Condition: Very Good Reason for selling: Upgrading to ML5 Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: I know there is a backlash against using the term ‘musical’ to describe a piece of equipment and so I won’t use it. What I will say is that since owning these speakers, I have enjoyed music more and felt I have had more insight into the performance than with any of my previous speakers. In fact, they are a bit of a gateway drug to the Lenehan naturalness and accuracy, only being sold to help me go up his range of speakers. Mike Lenehan’s attention to detail shows in every part of these speakers, including cabinet bracing, the lovely finish and, as you would expect, the crossover. Reportedly these are efficient enough to pair well with valve and solid-state amps alike. These have a lovely dark gloss grey enamel finish that is maddeningly difficult to photograph with my iPhone, so if interested, I suggest you look through the other threads on Stereonet, where some better pictures have been taken of this exact pair of speakers. Photos show one very slight spray blemish on the side of the left speaker, which is unnoticeable under normal circumstances. Local pickup preferred due to size & weight, but shipping can also be arranged. Some comments from Mike Lenehan on the construction and sound of these is at

  7. Item: Complete Lenehan Stereo System Location: Coffs Harbour NSW Price: $8000 Item Condition: Perfect sonically and unblemished physically Reason for selling: I make my own music these days and generally use my studio monitors or headphones to listen to music. Rarely do I sit down in front of the stereo now. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: The audio system includes: Lenehan/Geissler PDX Level 2 DAC A pair of Arion HS-500 500w monoblocks A pair of Lenehan ML2 Reference Speakers A pair of Lenehan Ribbontek speaker cables A pair of Curious interconnects A Curious USB cable A pair of Mike Lenehan speaker stands to suit the speakers Two of Mike's anti vibration "toppers" Two of Mike's 3 Hz isolation platforms, for the PDX and the amps The stand that it all sits on, purchased from Audio Junction in Newcastle All that's missing is your music server The system was purchased new from Mike and I have the original invoice. Since purchase the following upgrades have been done: Dueland capacitors fitted to the PDX A JL Sounds card was fitted to replace the HiTech interface Dueland capacitors fitted to each Arion amp If you are reading this advertisement and know of Mike Lenehan's audio credentials, I do not need to extol the virtues of this system. It is heavenly. If you do not know of Mike's gear then you can find out about just how highly it is regarded by searching on this forum. This is a good deal for a complete, highly advanced stereo system. I am willing to do the following: Split the system if you are interested in individual components Travel to where you are, within a reasonable distance from Coffs Harbour, to deliver and set the system up (if you buy the complete system and are willing to cover my travel costs). We can talk about what is a "reasonable distance". Freight to you at your cost. I have all the original packing that Mike used to send this equipment to me. There is an iMac computer that I use as music server, on which I run Audirvana as a player. It has only ever been used exclusively as my music server, not for general computing needs. This is not included in the deal, however, since I also have another iMac we could discuss this further. The Oppo DVD player shown in the photos is not included. 13. Our November club meeting is the last Sydney Audio Club for this calendar year. (We’ll be back January 20th 2019.) For our November club meeting we are very pleased to have Mike Lenehan of Lenehan Audio return after quite a few years. Mike last presented to the club back in March 2012…!! He’s been keen to come back but he was just too busy to return earlier! Busy is good – his business is thriving. Anyone that knows Mike will know he is meticulous in his designs and build – he won’t release a product until the design is perfect and the product is of very high quality. And yet somehow he still finds the time to be very active and helpful in forums. He is a great Aussie talent and we’re happy to have him back. Detail of the system… Lenehan ML2 Reference speakers with dedicated stands. Refer to http://www.lenehanaudio.com.au/ml2-ref.html. “The ML2 is the next generation of high-end two way monitors from Lenehan Audio. Designed for absolute no compromise music systems.” Uses Dueland caps and resistors in cross-over (also sold separately through his website). 35 - 25Khz +/- 1.5db response in room. Heschl Audio Labs integrated amp. Don’t bother Googling this one… it’s so new that there’s nothing to be found! The good news is that it’s Aussie, well designed and built … and 300wpc. Designed and built by Ron Harris. FoilFlex interconnects and loudspeaker cables. These are new cables designed by Lenehan Audio. Isolation platforms for the electronics. Also designed by Lenehan Audio. 3Hz Isolation platforms for the speakers. Also designed by Lenehan Audio. Curious USB cable. Famous giant-killer USB cable sold by Lenehan Audio. Made by Rob Woodland in Queensland. Mike’s source for his presentation will be his laptop with the Audirvana Plus music player. Our source for our BYO session will be an Oppo BDP-105D multi-format player. The second half of the music sessions will be our popular BYO. Members and guests are welcome to offer music to share with us all. So bring along your favourite music on CD or USB thumb/flash drives (sorry, no vinyl this month). All we ask is that the music and recordings be interesting. We'll ask you to tell us a little about the artist/recording before it is played. Tracks over 6 minutes will be faded out, to give everyone a fair go. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned veteran, you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and share your experiences with others. Feel free to come and hear the capabilities of the system, or to just share the experience with like-minded music lovers in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Guests are welcome – we are a very friendly club so you don't need to know anyone to join us for an afternoon of fine music and sound. Venue: Epping Creative Centre, Dence Park Address: 26 Stanley Road, Epping When: Sunday 18th November 2018 Doors open 1pm Meeting starts at 2pm Best regards, Tom Waters President Sydney Audio Club W: www.sydneyaudioclub.org FB: https://www.facebook.com/sydneyaudioclub E: tomwaters@sydneyaudioclub.org.au
  14. Item: Lenehan Ribbon Flex RCA interconnects 1m - 2 pairs Location: Port Macquarie NSW Price: $300 for both pairs, plus freight costs if required Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: Surplus Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: Pictures:
  15. Item: Lenehan PDX DAC Location: Canberra, ACT Price: 650 + post Item Condition: 7/10 Reason for selling: No longer being used Payment Method: Pickup or post - Cash, Paypal (buyer pays fee or as friend and family) Extra Info: These DACs need no introduction. They are wonderful sounding and have an incredible mid-range. I have recently purchased a DAC that lets me switch between USB and SPDIF optical but unfortunately the PDX only does USB. I did toy with the idea of adding a SPDIF optical to IS2 card and connecting it to the current IS2 connection but decided I would stick to the DAC without tubes so I could leave it on permanently. The DAC could easily have a HDMI or Ethernet connection added to the back and connected to the current IS2 connection (BNC connectors) for more modern IS2 output devices. My unit has the PCM1704UK chips, MCap gold/silver output caps and Genelax Golden Lion 6922s. Included will be a set of Voskhod 6922s that I paid $50 for recently. Convenience really is the only reason I am letting this go. Now the unit has been worked on by good techs, whose work is good and some non techs whose work was not so good. The work is passable but I like to be very honest when I sell things so the buyer doesn’t have any complaints. When I received the unit the pads on the PCB had come off because the caps weren’t secured properly but I also repaired this and it won’t be a problem moving forward. I have done some work and I will list it here. I replaced a faulty HIFACE USB module with a much better AMANERO USB module and have done a semi-permanent installation (with the cabling) in case someone wanted to re-install an original HIFACE USB module. I recently replaced the R-core transformer which was vibrating and suffering from hum and at the same time fixed the output caps so that they were more secure and uniform. Now the unit is sounding fantastic. I am happy to audition it at my house or if you’re in Canberra, I can drop past and you can listen in your system. Pictures:
  16. Item: Lenehan ML 1 Ref (Devialet SAM measured), Colour is Radiant Ebony (not black) - does not include the stands Location: Artarmon Sydney Price: $2,200 (plus paypal fees and delivery cost) Item Condition: Excellent Reason for selling: After 2.5 years time to try something different Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal buyer pays fees Extra Info: These speakers need little introduction. If you have a Devialet Amp these are the actual speakers used by Devialet for their SAM file measurements, so you can be assured that they are optimised for SAM. The speakers measured 48Hz before SAM and 29 Hz after SAM. The aluminium flight cases are also included and two spare grilles. For those with amps other than Devialet these speakers are a relatively easy load and worked really well with a fair few amps that I used to audition for my latest integrated amplifier purchase. I am currently driving them with a 55 Watt Lavardin IT and it has ample headroom - they don't need a monster amp but do respond to good quality current (as do most speakers). The speakers have near field adjustment that Mike designed for the ML1s. There are two small things to note firstly, the grille does not lie flush with the front of one of the speakers dating to when I bought these from @rossb 2.5 years ago and at that time we contacted Mike @Lenehan Audioto arrange for new grilles to be sent down. There are now 4 grilles but that wasn't the issue, I suspect that the copper screws may protrude out a bit and Mike did say I could send them back for adjustment - I never did because I like the speakers with the grille off and think they sound better. There is a link to Ross's review which is pretty much on the mark. The other issue is a small nick (possibly cleaners - they always get blamed by the household) that is approx 5mm long by 2.5mm. Mike did say he could send a 100mm jar of Radiant Ebony paint which was around $30, I was going to use a marker to touch up but didn't want to do this before photographing for sale and giving the next owner the option to use touch up paint. These replaced some PMC OB1s which I didn't miss in the slightest after the purchase. They are incredibly accurate and have the ability to totally disappear while placing every instrument in an orchestra in its correct position. I think there is about 1 year left on the warranty which is easy enough to confirm with Mike (I will check the loading docket on the box if I can find it). Audition is welcome to serious buyers with some SNA history. Pictures: (Better photos to follow when I get the correct lighting). 22. Now that my Lenehan ML2 Limited speakers are back, complete with silver Deulund bypass caps, I thought it might be time to perform a bit of a write up. However, pics first. I've had these speakers for a while now, having swapped my pair of ML3 reference floor standers for them with Gremrock. I liked the ML3s but my lounge was too small for them and I found that the slightly larger bass driver didn't sound as good to me as the smaller driver in the ML2s (and my much loved S2Rs). I swapped them in and out of the system 3 or 4 times and while I liked them quite a bit I always went back to my S2Rs. The ML2s certainly sound different than the S2Rs, much more revealing in the treble and as so fairly demanding on the equipment in front of them. They do not treat poorly designed amps, pres, sources, or DACs well at all. They were good, very good in fact (and I certainly wasn't going to move them on) but I kept going back to the S2Rs. I thought there were several reasons for this, one was that I've done so many amp reviews on the S2Rs that I didn't really want to have to change my reference point. One was that there is a little bit of warmth in the S2Rs that wasn't present in the ML2 Ltds, and one was that the extra detail that the ML2s shone a light on was sometimes unsettling. It made me feel like I would have to re-calibrate my ears and I wasn't quite prepared to do that. And then I broke a spade off the speaker cables (my ML2 Ltds have external crossovers with fixed speaker cables so with a broken spade on the amp end I was one speaker down). And just a week later came Mike's thread about an ML2 Ltd upgrade. (Link below) https://www.stereo.net.au/forums/topic/236101-lenehan-ml2limited-with-duelund-silver-bypass/ Sounds like happenstance was making a decision for me, I could take the crossovers back to Mike for a quick fix up job and get an upgrade at the same time, and all in time for Christmas. Now that seemed like serendipity. Done and done! After a road trip down to pick them up yesterday and a quick moment of panic last night when a thunderstorm took the power out about 10 minutes after I got back from Brisbane things settled down. I set them up, gave them a test run and headed off to bed, too tired for a serious trial listen. But this morning, this morning was the most fun I've had in a long while. This morning I experienced the best system I have yet heard. That cap upgrade was obviously exactly what I needed. The music was sweeter, slightly more relaxed and just so much more pleasant to listen to. And listening fatigue, well listening fatigue had not only left the building it was indisposed on a long haul, one way international flight out of the country. The last amp I had in use was Simon's Zeus Integrated so I just left it hooked up and ran my trusty old YBA Heritage cd player through it and damn I was happy. After a dozen songs of being happy I started to get curious so I swapped in the Burson Conductor as a DAC and found that it upped the ante again. It seems to synergise very well with the Zeus, I was loving every minute of this. I was tempted out of my listening by the offer of a free lunch (thanks Dan!) and returned later to try out another album, and then, curious once more, another amp. The Technical Brain Integrated has a different feel to it than the Zeus, and I found that it much prefers to be fed direct from the cd player rather than the Burson Conductor. There's a lighter tone to the TB and definitely more delicacy on display. I have yet to get to the 907 NRA and the Xindak, but I will (probably more than once!). Tonight will be a late one, but a good one. 'ing the speakers Mike, and the upgrade.
  23. Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I was wondering whether there was anyone in Sydney with a pair of ML2's (preferably Plus R's) that would be open to having me drop by to audition them? I'm thinking of taking the plunge but would love the opportunity to hear the speakers before buying if at all possible. Cheers
  24. Item: Lenehan Audio ML1 (stock) Location: Melbourne/Dandenong Ranges - hoping for local pickup as they heavy! Price: $1200 Item Condition: Used - very close to immaculate though (slight blemish found on 68) Reason for selling: Rest of system does not do them justice. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Extra Info: Purchased not long at all ago from Steve, though as i thought these speakers are great but... definitely show up my system/room flaws, my plan was to box them up and start upgrading the system from pre to amp to source etc. However my plans have changed and i'm going to stick with what i have until i sort out my downstairs listening room (concrete nothingness at the moment) this is a rather large project and won't be complete until my partner finishes uni due to distractions. Soooo i feel like these sitting in boxes in storage for 2 years is a massive waste as someone else could be enjoying these. My perception of the ML1's - True to the music, minimal 'colour' and what you give me is what you're going to get sort of sound so again that killed my budget setup, though i know the potential is there to have these babies throw out lovely listening vibes. Come with magnetic grilles, the alloy shipping box's. Pictures: Reusing from Monk's sale - Some of my own poor iPhone shots (DSLR is currently charging) better shots to be provided ASAP.
  25. Hi, Has anyone had the chance to hear both of the above ML2 models and can talk a bit about the differences in sonic qualities between the two? Would really appreciate any feedback on what benefits may be had with going for the Reference model. Cheers
