  6. Item: KEF LS50 Wireless Nocturne Location: Canberra Price: Final Price drop to $2,600 firm. + shipping costs if required at buyer expense Item Condition: Mint Reason for selling: No longer needed Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, bank transfer, COD Only Extra Info: I don't know how many of these are still available. RRP at launch was around $4,300 but I note Lifestyle store has them on their site listed at $3,995 and in stock. Mine are in mint condition and to be honest probably not fully broken in and this I think is a very good price for this limited edition version of the highly acclaimed LS50 Wireless speakers. They glow in the dark under UV light but I didn't buy them for that reason I just thought they looked awesome and I had previously heard the LS50 wireless and though they were really good. I purchased these brand new in January 2018. I purchased them to go in my office, but my business plans changed and the office space never eventuated. I don't have the time or space for a second system at home so these little gems need a new home. They'd only have about 150 hours on them and are in as new condition. Comes with all accessories, remote (never used as I just used the phone app), booklets, cables and original packaging. These have been very enjoyable, it's a real shame I haven't had the time to do them justice. They really are simple to setup and use. Plug them in, connect each speaker with the network cable, go though steps to connect them to your network which the app guides you through and there you go. I have used other streaming devices/DAC's and these were the easiest by far to setup - very intuitive and once connected to the network, never had any issues at all. I found regardless of stands or desktop placement, with the room correction software via the KEF app you can get them sounding great no matter how you have them positioned/room size etc. I also though they sounded great with vinyl playback, just connecting my phono stage to the master speaker via the aux inputs. If you want a super cool looking, great sounding, versatile speaker system without a heap of other boxes to drive them, then you'll love these. There are loads of reviews about the LS50 wireless speaker system so you'll find plenty of info and reviews online - more than I could possibly fit in this ad. Here is the link to the KEF site which has heaps of info, reviews and specs; https://uk.kef.com/products/ls50-wireless-nocturne-by-marcel-wanders Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  10. Item: Schitt Ragnarok, Schiit Gumby multibit gen 2, KEF LS50 anniversary with ION Forged stands Location: Canberra Price: $4000 Item Condition: Used but fantastic condition, photos up later tonight Reason for selling: I've just been using a closed headphone with an AK240 for my music listening and editing time (have a 1 year old and a 4 year old) so I don't get to use speakers that often. Sounds glorious and looks the part too. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: Ideally I was thinking of selling the components together in one package. Rag is pretty heavy but if I recall, it was about $80 to send through Aust Post and the Kef's were about the same. The KEF's are the anniversary model in gloss black. Rag and Gumby are silver. Any questions don't hesistate to ask, I'd prefer canberra pickup so there's no hassles with posting. I also have Hifiman RE2000 gold edition in one of my other listings too. *Schiit Ragarock sold pending payment. So The Gumby and the LS50 Kef anniversary's will be up for sale. $1500 for Gumby and $1300 for Kef's, photos up later tonight or possibly early tomorrow. Pictures:
  11. Hey All Query to those who will know or have done what i am wondering might work? Current Set Up is 5.2 Marantz SR 6011 9ch Kef Q series 950/650/350 and x2 SVS SB2000 Subs Due to the design of the room, I have wall mounted the "side" surrounds but they actually sit behind me, not ideal I know, but i have calibrated them as such that they are effective - i've increased the db a little above the Audyssey setting using my own sound level and there is still plenty of effect and headroom - I am happy with this as it is now after much tweeking! This week i am going to grab a set of Q50's and implement them as an upfiring atmos speakers to sit ontop of the 950's as part of the front configuration but it got me thinking, can these be used as a side surround also? They have dual key hole wall mounts on the back of them for use as front heights and due to the angle of the speaker would potentiall be firing in an angle exactly as i need them down toward the couch - if used as a side surround. Then the Q350s would be the rear speakers only and probably overkill for the rears? Maybe i can replace those with Q50s too and use the 350s as bookshelfs somewhere else LOL So, that said, I would love to expand the system to a 7.2.2 by adding another set of surrounds to the actual side walls but due to a window on one side and and a door on the other this is not an option for the size of the Q350's and the bracketing needed, stands are also no option as it will close off acess to the couch etc on each side... however the Q50a speker would fit. Yes, I would also love to add atmos to the rear too but due to my speakers being close to the ceiling there is no way i can do that, i just dont think the effect will be there and all i'll achieve is a speaker facing the ceiling and doing nothing close to its reflective intent. Ceiling fitted speakers is not an option.... I guess I am not sure if the speakers designed for atmos are ideal for a genuine surround or multi channel speaker thats all but im sure someone here will have tried or knows the answer - i am confident they wont be as impactful as the Q350's thats for sure. Some pics and spec of the Q50 below and also some pics of my room so you can see what i mean by the rear and the side room.... thanks all ModelQ50a DesignTwo-way Closed Box Drive Units130mm (5.25in.) aluminium Uni-Q 25mm (1in.) vented aluminium dome HF Frequency range free field(-6dB) 96Hz-19.5kHz Frequency Response(±3dB) 105Hz-18.5kHz Crossover Frequencies2.5kHz Maximum Output106dB Amplifier requirements10-100W Sensitivity(2.83V/1m) 86dB Nominal Impedance8 Ohms (min.4.6 Ohms) room looking to the rear (which are actually set up as the side surrounds! a view of the space to ceiling which is why i am not thinking atmos upfiring will work at the rear now a view from the middle seat in the couch to each immediate side where i am wondering if a Q50 will suffice as a side surround (and now got me potentially thinking as a rear too to replace the Q350's) To Right hand side To the Left hand side

I had my eye on these for a long time & finally pulled the trigger after reading Darko's review when he awarded them Product of the Year. (https://darko.audio/2016/12/kef-ls50-wireless-review-dars-product-of-the-year-2016/) They are an entire high-end, audiophile reference system in one. Being an audiophile for years, I went down the endless path of different speakers, amps & equipment trying to find the perfect match. I got to the point where I just wanted to hear great sounding music with perfect clarity. Because KEF have matched the Amps, the DACs and the Crossovers to the drivers perfectly, it is all done for you. They are not warm, or harsh - they are not coloured in any way. They do not magically produce sound in some crazy way - they simply present the music to you exactly how it has been recorded & should be heard. No character or little effects are added. Each & every little sound in every song is heard, as intended, clear and clean. With the right source eg, FLAC files at 24bit/192kHz - you will hear your music with perfect clarity & authority. They have amazing power, and it is so satisfying to just listen to music coming out so detailed, & being able to confidently increase the volume while it remains sounding so consistent - increase some more; no overbearing bass, no piercing highs - increase some more & it maintains it's crystal clear, powerful presentation of your music. Unless you want to shake your house down, you do not need a subwoofer. The one word I would choose to describe these - satisfying. I could go on about them, and I haven't mentioned the versatility of all the inputs, outputs, wi-fi, bluetooth, App, etc, etc. It's crazy that they retail for what they do. I am selling them only to fund a business venture, and will be re-purchasing a pair asap. Check the KEF site - click on the awards & reviews tab to see 25+ Awards on there alone (http://us.kef.com/ls50-wireless) Brisbane pick up. Can audition for serious buyers. Will consider shipping but 100% at buyers expense. Cheers, Zac Pictures:

  21. After much research I ended up auditioning some KEF LS50W speakers. They sounded good but weren't set up properly - no speaker stands and only bluetooth audio connection available. Right next to the KEFs were some Dynaudio XD 200. These were set up properly on stands and sounded better than the KEFs, but at a substantially higher price. After some more research looking at Dynaudio LYD 48. They are professional monitors but can be compared directly to the KEFs price-wise. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to audition the LYDs, but it looks like the formula they use isn't a million miles off from the XDs. Is there any reason I shouldn't explore using pro monitors for home use? Is there a reason the XD is twice the price of the LYD? Also I don't see any mention of the XD series on the forum, is a reason for that? Hopefully someone can shed some light for me at this confusing time!
