Hi - I'm looking for a good quality FM/DAB+/Internet Radio component. I currently have a NextWave 390, which has a slightly dodgy display (some dead vertial and horizontal lines) which seems OK, but the FM quality is very poor even with a good signal. I'm considering the NAD C446 ($899.00), Onkyo T-4070 (but way overpriced at $1,500??) and the Rotel RT-12 ($749). Also the Marantz NA 7004 ($899) seems another option. Sangean WFT-1D+ (~$3-400) and Sherwood TX-5505iD $600 don't appeal (blue light syndrome in former; quality issues in latter?) Any opinions appreciated ...

Item: NextWave DAB-390 (WiFi FM, DAB+, Internet Radio, Network Music Player) Location: Sydney Price: $90 Item Condition: Works perfectly and unit is "as new" in appearance. In original packaging with user guide, remote control (with a spare battery), telescopic aerial and power supply. Please note that the display has a flaw: one vertical and one horizontal line is blank, however this does not affect the unit's usability at all. I used this mainly for DAB+ and Internet Radio listening. Handles Linn Classical 320kb/s perfectly. Noticed that FM requires a strong signal to be sufficiently noise-free. Sound quality on digital is very good as is but I did notice a some improvement using a CA DacMagic100. The unit has analogue RCA outputs plus optical and coax digital outputs as well as an Ethernet LAN socket. Pickup can be arranged from Sydney Potts Point or Blue Mountains area.
