  1. Infinity Alpha Series 5.1 home theatre speakers. Made in Denmark. 2 x Front Towers, Alpha 40 3 way 2 x Bookshelf Rear, Alpha 20 2-way 1 x Center, Alpha Center, 2-way (tweeter damaged, still acoustically good) 1 x Suberwoofer HPS250 12" down firing I brought these used about 2 years ago and besides the tweeter on centre (something to remember my 2yo by)...there is no additional damage. There some signs of cosmetic minor wear you can expect - few scuffs - minor delamination on a few corners ...but overall they are in pretty good nick. No grilles...that's how they when I purchased them. There some small screw holes at the base of the bookshelfs, when they were wall mounted. Selling due to upgrading to Paradigm Monitor 5.1 set up. Happy to send anyone more pics, if anyone is interested. Can audition if required. Pick up only, from Coburg North. Price is for the full 5.1 Set-up. Photos:
  2. Further information: Now surplus to my needs is this pair of "Made in the USA" Infinity Reference 20 bookshelf speakers. I'm open to offers on these speakers from the late 1990s but which are in great condition. They are finished in black ash and I have owned them from new. They have been very well looked after. Cabinets were polished regularly and look as new. They've been used with several amps over the years, ranging from 20 to 75 watts/ch, and performed well with them all. I sat them on Concorde SP24 stands (which I also have up for sale). The woofers were re-foamed by SpeakerWorks in Sydney in 2013/14 (see post-repair frequency response graphs in pics). I bought these speakers because they were used as the monitors in the small (mainly speech work) sound recording studio I once worked in. Maybe it was because I got so used to them but I found - and still find - they give fatigue-free listening for long periods, especially for speech and vocals. I have to downsize and regrettably they must now go. They come in the original box and packaging. Note: They have been in storage for about a year, and on taking them out to photograph them I noted that in 3 spots the foam has started to lift on the woofers (see pics). They still sound great, but obviously those spots need to be re-glued. Specs: Frequency Response50Hz - 25kHz (+/-2.5dB) Crossover Frequency 3kHz Sensitivity 90dB (2.8V/1 meter) Nominal Impedance 6 ohms Power Handling, RMS 15 -100 watts Woofer 20.3cm IMG Tweeter 2.5 cm polycell Dimensions: 465 mm h x 268 mm w x 252 mm d. Box is 61 x 36 x 55 cm and weighs 18.6 kg. It can be sent by Auspost. As as example, postage to Melbourne 3000 would be $54.90. Delivery might be possible if your are in inner Sydney suburbs or close to the M4, please ask. Will be listed on eBay after a few days. Photos:
  3. Further information: Now surplus to my needs is this pair of Infinity Reference 40 3-way floor standers with the Emit-R tweeters. Finished in black ash they are in excellent condition and have been carefully looked after. Please see photos for details. There are only a very few marks on the cabinets which were regularly polished. Included with the sale are 8 fitted SoundCare Super Spikes (http://www.soundcare.no). These do a great job of minimising sound transmission though the floor. They currently sell for 590 NOK (approx. $AU90) per set of 4 (on the SoundCare website you will see a link to their online shop). Note that one of the spikes sits slightly off vertical due to the speakers having got an accidental knock while moving. The spike itself is not bent, just its socket is misaligned.. Specs: Type: 3 way loudspeaker system Frequency Response: 44Hz to 40kHz Recommended Amplifier: 25 to 150W Crossover Frequency: 300, 4,000Hz Impedance: 6Ω Sensitivity: 90dB Dimensions: These are big and heavy speakers: approx. 268 W x 255 D x 875 H (mm). They have been used with a 65 Watts per channel Denon PMA 1055R amplifier and sound great. The twin terminals are fitted jumpers which can be removed to allow for bi-amping, should you wish. I am the second owner; the previous owner had the woofers and midrange units re-foamed shortly before I bought them. Pick up from Potts Point. Delivery could be arranged, depending upon your location. Please ask. Photos:
  4. Item: Infinity RS4000 Speakers, black, 8" three way, with Emit K tweeter Location: Sydney - Hills District Price: $175 Item Condition: very good, see photos Reason for selling: too many speakers Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, Direct Debit Extra Info: These are quite heavily built cabinets and host an 8” three-way design with EMIT K ribbon tweeters, hence the extended upper frequency range to bat levels, 45kHz. The sound is clear and spacious, the bass tight and down to 45Hz. Recommended power covers a wide range from 25-125 watts, and at 89dB efficiency you have a fair bit of leeway. I'd tend towards the upper third of that range. Nominal Impedance: 6 ohms Power Recommended: 25-125 watts RMS Sensitivity: 89dB @ 1 watt, 1 meter Crossover Frequencies: 800Hz and 3,500Hz Frequency Response: 45Hz-45kHz +/-3dB Dimensions: 57cm(H) x 31.75cm(W) x 26cm(D) There’s a tone adjustment on the back to fine tune for room acoustics. According to the included manual there’s a protection circuit for the tweeters. Probably get best sound when used with short stands (maybe 250-300mm) but they can be floor standing and still work well. Update: I have an old pair of metal stands about the right height that can be added for $25 the pair - no time to photo at the moment. Freight: ask me about this. No boxes at the moment.
