  1. Check this out. http://www.m2tech.biz/hiface_dac.html Interesting.
  2. Item: MK3 Hiface (JKSPDIF) Location: Melbourne, S.E. suburbs (Chadstone area) Price: $345 $320 (+ Postage) Includes one RF attentuator and BNC to RCA adapter SOLD Item Condition: Excellent. (However, I removed the 4 little rubber feet on the bottom, so it would line up with the digital input on my DCX, for a direct connection (eg; no coax cable) Reason for Selling: Want to get an AP2 so I can use it with my SBT. (Have moved away from jPlay and been enjoying the stability and functionality of SBT, and want to improve the delivery with EDO + AP2 Payment Method: Pickup - Cash. I prefer local pickup, but will ship it interstatae with Aus Post if need be, direct bank transfer.. I could even deliver it myself in Melb (within reason).. Extra Info: The John Keny MK3 Hiface is a well known USB to Coaxial SPDIF converter.. A good clean transport! At the the time I purchased it (August 2011), John wasnt shipping them with attenuators,, but I have since sourced my own "mini circuits" attenuators. I am including ONE atentuator with the unit,, you can choose from 6, 10, 20 dB attenuation. Also included is a BNC to RCA female adapter. Comes with the original Lithium-Iron charger when John used to have it external to the device.. Now I believe the Li-Fe charger is inside the MK3 and you only supply the DC to the charger?? I have never left the charger plugged into the power point,, it was only left on when charging! Pictures:
  3. The amp is the only remaining item....... Item 1 : Audio-gd NFB-2 Dac (with upgraded DIR9001 receiver) Location: Brisbane Price: $300 + postage - SOLD Item Condition: As new Reason for selling: Headphone setup no longer required Payment Method: Bank Transfer, Paypal (+3%), COD Only Extra Info: I bought this from a SNA member and it served me well in my headphone setup. He ordered the DIR9001 receiver chip from Kingwa and fitted it himself and I will include the WM8005 receiver chip with the sale. Inputs are Coax, USB and Optical and is 240V. Item 2 : M2Tech Hiface Location: Brisbane Price: $75 + postage - SOLD Item Condition: As new Reason for selling: No longer use a headphone setup. Payment Method: Bank Transfer, Paypal (+3%), COD Only Extra Info: I bought this from a SNA member and have used it in my headphone setup with excellent results. Item 3 : DNA Sonett – Single ended Headphone Amp (with Upgraded Tube) Location: Brisbane Price: $950 + postage - STILL AVAILABLE Item Condition: As new Reason for selling: No longer use a headphone setup. Payment Method: Bank Transfer, Paypal (+3%), COD Only Extra Info: I bought this from a Headfi member and have used it in my headphone setup with excellent results with SennHD800, HD600, Grado rs1i and currently Beyer T1’s. It is a great little all rounder and being tube rectified makes it a great amp. The original tubes are also included, so the tubes you will receive are: · 6H30P-DR Supertube – These are rare, and considered the best available tube for this amp. It cost $200 alone, when you can find them…….It greatly improves the SQ of this amp · Sovtek 6H30PI - original tube · Phillips 5AR4 rectifier tube – original tube Item 4 : Beyerdynamic T1 600 Ohm Headphones Location: Brisbane Price: $900 + postage - SOLD Item Condition: As new Reason for selling: No longer use a headphone setup. Payment Method: Bank Transfer, Paypal (+3%), COD Only Extra Info: I listened long and hard to find a great all rounder headphone and I think these fit the bill nicely. These are Beyer flagship headphones and capable of revealing great detail and soundstage. The reason I chose these over the HD800 is they are less fussy with amps, and the bass has a wonderful speed when paired with the right amp. I listen to a wide array of music, including a wide range of qualities through these at work, from wav, to flac and even internet radio, and they don’t make the bad stuff sound horrible, and make the good stuff sound awesome. Great set of cans even with the origianl cables..
  4. Hi All, Wondering if there's any Hiface usb/spdif converter owners out there that have experienced volume setting problems. I've recently gone to a Mac mini and after being underwhelmed by the usb signal out to my dac, I picked up a Hiface. Downloaded the software and have experienced a better sound (although software download was a bit weird - wouldn't let me pick the destination folder...) However, when using the Mac's sound settings to select the Hiface, it automatically sets the volume to Maximum and will not let me lower it. Interestingly, I still need to then crank the amp (dial getting towards two thirds of full vol) to get reasonable listening level - something I didn't experience when using usb. Having the amp cranked up that high means I occasionally blast the speakers when I switch to another source . Another issue - when using VLC to play video and sending a signal via the Hiface - the sound track is significantly delayed. Delayed enough to make it unwatchable. Anyone experienced similar problems? Any thoughts or tips greatly appreciated - I went for the Mac mini as one box, simple life solution so I'd like to avoid having to constantly change output devices and volume levels when I change source. cheers
  5. Ive heard about USB isolators that are designed to free our DAC's from computer associated electrical noise that contaminates the USB cables. I imagine they might work with some devices (hopefully HiFace & Audiophilleo) but not others? work at some sample depths and rates but not others eg 24/192? decrease some problems but add others Does any one know: a model that works with audio USB devices? what it does to jitter? Thanks kindly for your help
