  1. Item: Vero 50ex Headphone Amplifier and MIT 330 0.6m stereo input cable Location: Northern Tasmania Price: $1990 Item Condition: Virtually new - used less than 8 hours Reason for selling: Surplus to requirements Payment Method: Bank Transfer Extra Info: Purchased on impulse as a possible upgrade. Maybe not an upgrade but a genuine surprise to find that with unbalanced input it sounded identical to my Violextric V281 connected in balanced mode. I was told it would "burn in" but I did not observe that in the few hours I tried it out. My appraisal it is as good as the Violectric is with good foundation because I had both amps going at the same time with each connected to Sennheiser HD800S headphones with the same after market cabling. I merely changed over headphones in a matter seconds to compare the two with the AQ from classical. jazz and pop. So here is an amplifier for the audiophile without a balanced setup that will sound as good as a Violectric V281 in balanced mode. Another advantage is its small size and the fact that running on battery, heat and ventillation are not an issue. It could even be used in portable mode away from a power point. I have not registered it so the buyer will have new warranty. The price in the USA is $USD3000 (which is $AUD4400 before GST)for the amp so I'm selling it, virtually new, at less than half price so it is a genuine bargain with MIT input cabling thrown in. I'm not keeping it as the Violectric is doing the same job and my main headphone listening system is set up for it - no advantage for me to keep the Vero and sell the Violectric. And I must confess to having been lazy about selling it - it has been sitting on the shelf unused for over 12 months but it is tinme for it to go to someone as a nice Xmas present! You can read more detail about the amp at https://mitcables-buyersclub.com/products/vero-hca-50ex-headphone-amplifier Feel free to PM me with any questions. 2. Item: Alex Cavalli Tube Hybrid (CTH) Headphone Amp Location: Canberra Price: $240 incl. postage Item Condition: 9/10 Reason for selling: Recouping $ Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: I've had this amplifier for about a year. I've driven both Massdrop Sennheiser HD6XX and Nuraphones (corded) through it, either streaming Spotify and Tidal, or CDs played through a desktop Teac DR-L700. Recently also used with a Schiit Modi 3 DAC. It comes with the original switched mode PSU with a US form-factor prongs. It's my first valve-based / hybrid unit. Its character is both detailed, with a revealing soundstage, but also has that softer relaxing valve character that makes extended listening a pleasure. Valve-swapping ('tube-rolling') is of course possible with this. The fit and finish of the CTH are exemplary and its neat dimensions means that it doesn't occupy much desk-space. The surface finish is a satin black that doesn't mark easily from fingers. The connections have a quality feel also. It has both a normal 6.3mm jack and a balanced (4 pin XLR) connection. The original packaging is good quality and makes for easy and secure posting. Drop (formerly known as Massdrop) current pricing is US$250 plus shipping and of cpurse the Gerry Harvey import tax (10% or so). 3. Item: iFi iCAN Pro Professional Tube/Solid State Headphone Amplifier/Preamp Location: Brisbane Price: $1999 ono Express post included - see my other ad for iFi Pro iDSD (Combo deal) Item Condition: Excellent "as new". Bought from AUS store 3/10/19 Reason for selling: NLR upgrading to Auralic/Luxman combo Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only The iFi iCAN PRO is a high-performance device and is a perfect studio-grade audiophile line-stage and headphone amplifier. There are two individual parts in this device which are solid-state and tube amplification sections. Studio-grade Headphone Amplifier The Studio-grade Headphone Amplifier of the Pro iCAN outputs >10V in the single-ended mode and 20V in the balanced mode. While the 20V mode of this device is equivalent to 100W into a 4 Ohm speaker. Also, this device is adjustable from 0dB/9dB/18dB that allows it to work efficiently. Audiophile Line-Stage The Audiophile Line Stage is integrated with the ‘6-Track’ version with four tracks that is used for a truly balanced volume control. This device can work perfectly in both balanced and single-ended mode. It is often used at home or in various expensive hi-fi systems as it has three single-ended, one balanced input, one balanced and one single-ended output. Tube/ Solid-State Real-time Switching The Pro iCAN headphone amplifier has a tube stage that allows it to work in two different ways. With the use of General Electric 5670, the headphones provide premium variant with a different pinout. Also, this device has two individual input circuits; one tube and another solid state that results in giving a high-performance. Class A Solid-State, J-FETs and Fully-Discrete The Pro iCAN has an individual solid-state amplification section that is executed as the tube amplification section that promotes smooth functioning. This device is fully discrete and fully balanced with a tube or J-FET input switchable. It has a ‘tri-brid’ circuit that minimises drawbacks and is considered as pure DC coupled which prevents from using any sonically-degrading coupling capacitors. 4. Hi Guys, Anyone have one of these or any experience with it? Have seen some reviews that talk about it being the amp for HD800 and LCD-4, or high impedance HPs. Thanks.

  6. Item: Luxman Location: Perth Price: $4000 Item Condition:Execellent Reason for selling: Upgrade to M700U Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD , Electronic funds transfer Extra Info: I am the original owner purchased new in July 2014. I have the original packaging and can ship nationwide( your cost) with a carrier of your choice the remote has been in a clear bag since purchase and the manual is included, the phone photos dont do it justice but i cant see any marks apart from fingerprints I have been so impressed with this unit I expected to see out my days with it I recently upgraded my speakers from Harbeth HL Super HL5 to Tannoy Kensingtons and was amazed at the synergy and what the Luxman added gobs of current , power finesse and dynamism this amp will work beautifully with most speakers out there and is more powerful than the 110 watts suggest. With the 87db Harbeth it idled along with ample in reserve. Well, if its so good, why am I getting rid of it. I began to wonder what something higher up the range would be like and then fell into the trap of Stereonent classifieds I considered the top of the range 509x even used, double the asking of this, I asked the Luxman dealer who has had both, if i would get anything like a doubling of performance, or if i would hear it and think" that was and extra 4k well spent", no in both cases. the specs aren't that different either, Or the Class A, different, better for some but not for many. You will find a 505 ux cheaper, but( I am no golden ears ) the jump in performance is evident. I decided that this was the sweet spot in the range and would cope with upgrades well into the future, which it can. Just hoping my upgrade (bought unheard) is actually that. I can Demo this in East Vic Park you are welcome to bring or speakers or if not feasible can bring to yours to try with your room setup, for serious buyers only. If you are remote and cant get to hear one of these they hold their value and always sell so little risk thanks for reading Grant Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  9. Item: AYON AUDIO HA-3 Single-Ended-Triode Headphone Amplifier Location: Sydney Price: $$$#^)) Item Condition: Mint Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup or Delivery cash/EFT on pick up Extra Info: From 6Moons: "Among direct-heated triodes -- and shy of leaving the reservation for types only the truly obsessed have even heard of, never mind listened to -- 45s are legendary and by some considered what 300Bs and 2A3s can only aspire to" Shipping Dimension: 50.00cm x 50.00cm x 30.00cm 20kg REVIEWS: https://positive-feedback.com/audio-discourse/ayon-audio-ha-3-set-headphone-amplifier-focal-utopia-headphones/ http://highfidelity.pl/@main-709&lang=en From Ayon Audio site: The HA-3 was developed for headphone lovers searching exclusively the very special music experience. It impresses with it’s Single-Ended-Triode technology taken to its respective extremes by Ayon in all their products. Selected in-house AA45 Mesh super triodes, the perhaps most perfect and best sounding low-power triode for headphone amp design, are applied in combination with special super-permalloy wound output transformers. At the HA-3 deliberately all useless gimmicks have been omitted. The HA-3 is designed without compromise in its circuitry as well as in its power conditioning; therefore, a separate top-class power supply was inevitable; on the one hand it guarantees extraordinary voltage and current stability and lowest hum. With its powerful, airy, and lively play, paired with a superb spatiality with emotional reproduction the HA-3 drives every dynamic headphone to absolutely maximum tonal performance. From treble in brilliant resolution to absolutely authentic colourful mid-range and a deep resilient bass. At the same time, it fascinates by its incredible ease, closeness and control at any kind of reproduction that is second to none Features & Design: Full-featured pure class-A tube stereo headphone amplifier Vacuum Tubes : Ayon AA45 Mesh power output tubes The choice of signal and power tubes have a significant influence on the sound and hence on the inspiration and joy of listening. This is not only the decision between good and bad tubes but finally the interaction of the different types of tubes and their combination that are used in the various Ayon amplifiers. Signal Path We believe that the simplest circuits work best together with the shortest signal path. The shorter the signal path is, the less possibility of sonic degradation from various sources, including the wire itself. Even on the circuit boards, the copper traces are kept to a very minimum length. The completely redesigned circuit board provides a more straightforward and direct approach to the signal paths. ● Logical sequenced soft-start power up for extended tube life ● Ultra short signal path ● Simplest direct circuit path for purest musical sound and high reliability ● No solid state devices in the signal path ● High current and low impedance design that operates tubes in the best areas their curves ● Automatic bias adjustment ● No followers or buffers in the signal path ● Quality parts throughout Power Supply The power supplies have been further refined with new components and enhanced AC line noise filtration. Separate power transformers, chokes and filters provide total isolation between the input and output stages which makes this a pure power source. We also use electrolytic capacitors with much larger storage capacity to make up for the loss in filtering when using resistors in lieu of inductors. ● Low noise –insulated power transformers ● Power transformer is excellent damped and RFI/EMI shielded ● Innovative power supply provides a high speed energy delivery on transients ● Choke filtered power supply ● Separate and isolated power supplies over each stage of amplification ● High current filament-regulator for pre/driver tubes ● Regulated DC filament supplies with soft start ● AC power line filter to avoid noise and hash from entering into the unit. Output Transformer The super-wide bandwidth output transformer’s major strength is that it can deliver the current in the bass, while at the same time maintaining the speed in the high frequencies, dramatically improving the square wave response of the amplifier. The effect is a much more natural and relaxed sound with much better clarity, resolution and fluidity. ● Super-wide bandwidth high performance - super permalloy output transformer ● High efficiency with low insertion loss for optimal current and voltage transfer ● Multiple tight layering and coupling for extended frequency response ● Output transformers are sealed with an anti-resonance compound material Components The type of parts used therefore must have a synergistic relationship to the circuit they are placed in. It is this relationship of which type of part to use where, that ranks our products apart from the mass. ● Selected, quality passive components used in all applications ● High speed & high quality audiophile grade coupling capacitors ● Special tube sockets with beryllium- copper spring pins, custom made by Ayon ● High quality – RCA input jack ● Special isolated - internal wiring ● Copper matrix - internal signal cable ● Gold-plated industrial grade PCB Mechanical Construction The high grade aluminum chassis impart a richer, more lustrous tonality with a cleaner background and less hash and grain. All brushed anodized anti-vibration-resonance and non-magnetic chassis’s are fully hand assembled to insure the highest level of craftsmanship. ● Improved heat ventilation chassis ● Custom-made machined control knobs ● All front & rear panel descriptions are engraved ● Chassis finish: black / black Pictures:

  15. Item: LINEAR TUBE AUDIO MICROZOTL MZ2 PREAMP/HEADPHONE AMP Location: Melbourne Price: $2200 Item Condition: Faultless Reason for selling: Upgrade (see below) Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, EFT, Paypal (+3%) Extra Info: A word about where this little marvel seats performance-wise (certainly not price-wise) in the scheme of personal experience of owning, as well as auditioning in my systems a number of preamps over the years (some retailing in excess of $15K). Some SN members may have noted my past posts where I shared my enthusiasm for the astonishing value/performance I derived from owning a Consonance Linear 1 preamp, which few years earlier (to my surprise at the time) dethroned at my place a $14K Audio Research Reference unit. My lesson in 'divorcing price from performance' has recently been further bolstered by having experienced few LTA products from this relatively new US based manufacturer, as the performance of this 'unassuming' preamp goes even further! Greater transparency, richer timbres, deeper soundstage, more space between instruments - totally 'unaccompanied' by any audible noise floor. The unit is equally well known as a highly acclaimed headphone amp. It is also a surprisingly impressive 1 Watt amplifier in its own right (often used and reviewed as such) when matched with appropriately efficient speakers. I've been its first owner for the past 12 month. The reason for selling is that I just took delivery of its freshly released bigger brother, the full size MicroZotl Preamplifier (over $7K AUD landed) . Lots of enthusiastic press out there. The example below is the excerpt from Terry London's recent article. Although this particular review is that of the bigger full size unit (the model I just purchased), he begins with quite unambiguous reference to the smaller unit I am listing here: "Almost three years ago, I was stunned by the performance of the Linear Tube Audio MicroZOTL 2.0 preamplifier/headphone amplifier, used as a line stage, when it significantly out-performed my reference Concert Fidelity preamplifier on all sonic parameters. The Concert Fidelity, a hand-built piece from Japan that cost $24,000, had never been surpassed by any line stage I had auditioned for over five years in my system until the MicroZOTL 2.0 with an upgraded linear external power supply retailing for less than $2,000. Needless to say, the MicroZOTL 2.0 was selected as one of Home Theater Review's 2016 products of the year." The unit I am selling, whilst also supplied with the optional upgraded linear external power supply, is the current, upgraded version - in that it now hosts 3 inputs (not 2); is optioned with remote and is fitted with NOS tubes. Happy to answer all relevant questions via PM. Richard Pictures: (apologies for my camera skills...)
