  2. Further information: Purchased new from local Sydney HiFi store for $1895, it’s as-new with original box, comprehensive user manual and USB Lead. Selling as I’m using the DAC1 HDR that had a remote option, otherwise pretty much identical. This unit is solid and well made, manufactured in the USA. It is far more than just a high quality DAC, it can also function as a digital and analogue pre-amp, with an analogue input, with 5 digital inputs, ie. usb, optical and 3x coax. Has both balanced and unbalanced outputs and output can be either fixed or variable for connection direct to a power amp. The main feature however it was used for is its outstanding 2x headphone inputs, it was used mostly with a set of AKG 701/2 and HD600/650 headphones and are the perfect match. pickup preferred or alternately I will pack and post registered post with tracking and signature Australia wide for $25. 6. Extra Info: I purchased this from a SNA member around Christmas 2019 to drive my headphones. But I also bought a Woo Audio dac/amp at the same time. So I need to sell some Dac to get funding. The RRP was $6,800, and currently having a sale on Apollohifi for $4,499. I am priced it for sale. This unit is heavier than it looks like and packaged with a lot of high tech. It has volume control so can be used as a preamp as well. Chord's sound is balanced overall, the bass and guitar sounding natural and present in their spatial locations. Comes with remote, wall charger, and USB stick with drivers for windows. I do not have the original box, but can pack it safely for inter-state shipping at buyers' expense. 8. Item: Creek Audio OBH-21SE Special Edition Headphone Amplifier Location: Sydney, Lindfield NSW 2070 Price: $275 (+$25 postage) Item Condition: Great condition, a couple of tiny nicks around the Creek logo Reason for selling: NLR Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: I have for sale my Creek OBH-21 SE headphone amp. This is the SE - special edition. I bought it brand new about 10 years ago, and used lightly as I don't listen to headphones too often. The amp is in great condition. It has a couple of tiny nicks, the biggest one is on the Creek logo (see photos). It comes from a smoke, pet and kid-free home. The amp can drive two pairs of low to medium impedance headphones at the same time. I used various headphones over the years, including AKG K702, Sennheiser HD-650 and Hifiman HE-400i. All sounded great with it. I switched to Stax a couple of years ago, which came with its own amp, and the Creek hasn't been getting any use. So the sale. The amp comes with its original box and the OBH Uni power adapter. The adapter has swappable power plugs, but I only have the UK one. I'm happy to post to anywhere in Australia. Pickup and audition available in Lindfield NSW 2070. Photos:
  9. Hi Guys, Anyone have one of these or any experience with it? Have seen some reviews that talk about it being the amp for HD800 and LCD-4, or high impedance HPs. Thanks.
  10. Item: Little Dot Mk II Headphone Amplifier Location: Adelaide Price: $SOLD Item Condition: Mint Reason for selling: Selling head-fi rig Payment Method: Pickup, EFT, Cash, Paypal (buyer pays all transaction fees & postage) Extra Info: Great condition and one of the best value headphone amplifiers available. Australian variant with 220v power supply. Upgraded Value Electronic CV4010 KQDD/K and 6H6 VIII tubes. The device has a single volume knob on the front along with a blue LED and of course, the 6.3mm port. At the back you can find the input and output RCA pots as well as the power button. The specifications of the amp are as follows: Input: Gold-Plated Unbalanced Phono (RCA) Jacks Output: 1/4" Gold-Plated Stereo Headphone out Driver Tubes: 6JI Power Tubes: 6N6 Frequency Response: 20HZ - 50KHz (-1dB) THD+N: 0.1% (50mW into 300 ohms) Suitable Headphone Impedance: 32 - 600 ohms Pre-Amplifier Output Impedance: 10K ohms Power Output: 300mW into 300 ohms 200mW into 120 ohms 100mW into 32 ohms Average Power Usage: 28 watts Dimensions: 210mm (length) by 110mm (width) by 130mm (height) Weight: 2.5 kg or 5.5 lbs. The Little Dot MK II boasts a SEPP (single ended push pull) circuit (in similar vein to the rest of the MK-series tube amplifiers) greatly increases sound quality, dynamic range, output impedance, and harmonic distortion. The Little Dot MK II also provides gain control of 3, 5, and 10 via internal DIP switches for fine-tuning so you can maximize synergy with almost any headphone you have, whether it be 32 ohms or 600. Some cheap tube amps have what is called a hybrid design, where the power is provided by a transistor based circuit and the driver circuitry is tube based. Examples of these designs are the headphone amps with only a single vacuum tube (the driver tube). Not only does the Little Dot MK II have a fully tube based design (both power and driver elements are tube based) it actually has independent circuitry for the left and right channels. So essentially, you have 1 power tube and 1 driver tube for the left channel and 1 power tube and 1 driver tube for the right channel. This is called an SEPP design (think of it as 2 + 2 design). 12. Item: FS: Elemental Watson Gen 2 Hybrid Tube Mosfet Headphone Amp Location: Kew East, Victoria Price: $150 Item Condition: mint (besides dust) Reason for selling: no longer needed Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: very nice sounding headphone amp. This replaced my Nuforce HDP headphone amp, it just walked all over it when I was A/Bing them which is no small feat if you take 6moon's opinion of the Nuforce's headphone amp being very good indeed. I have barely listened to headphones in a stationery set up in last few years so it's just not being used. Would be lucky to have put 30 hours on it. Purchased new from Jaben for $320 odd...... Can ship...... By trimming down on unnecessary luxuries and focusing on core performance, the Watson is able to operate in a dual mono configuration, with a military grade NOS 6AK5 tubes being the center piece of each channel™'s gain stage. Not only does this deliver rich harmonics typical of single ended class-A valve amps but also reduces warm up time of the valves significantly whilst extending the life of each valve to operate at their peak performance for more than 1000 hours per channel. Class A Valve/MOSFET hybrid tube desktop headphone amplifier Supports 30- 600 Ohm impedance headphones. Dual Mono Construction Delivers rich harmonics in single-ended topology. Western Electric Triodes Uses two Bell Lab/Western Electric 6AK5 valve tubes yields and produces excellent high-frequency performance. Smart Power Design Eliminates any 'Pop' sound when switching power on/off. Thus, no concern for pulse energy damage to your headphones. Compact and light-weight Easy handling size and small footprint. Portable. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

It just doesn't get the use it deserves. It is in wonderful condition, and has heaps of glowing praise bestowed upon it by the doyens of the internet. Look it up! 14. Item: Focal Clear + Questyle CMA400i + Questyle stand + 1.2m aurealis 24 gauge litz xlr cable + matching XLR to 2.5m adaptor + 5m audioquest evergreen USB cable. Location: 2030, Sydney Price: $2200 AUD + $100 for postage and paypal fees if delivery needed Item Condition: 9/10 - Pads a tiny bit darker than stock but have been regularly cleaned. Reason for selling: Introduced to Vintage Stax Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only Extra Info: The focal clear was originally purchased 24/05/19 (invoice available at request). Both drivers were replaced in the focal clear on 19/10/19 due to rattling in the left driver when playing tracks with low frequency content (rma and image of box available at request). Questyle CMA400i originally purchased 26/08/19 from minidisc (invoice available at request). Questyle Stand originally purchased 14/10/19 from minidisc (invoice available at request). Aurealis cable (UPOCC copper Litz 24 awg. Amphenol 3.5 mm TRS at headphone end, Amphenol 4-pin XLR (AX4M) at source end) Originally Purchased 25/10/19 Aurealis xlr adaptor (UPOCC copper Litz 24 awg with matching amphenol xlr connector) purchased some time after the regular xlr cable. Invoice unavailable. Audioquest USB cable was purchased soon after the Questyle CMA400i. The Questyle did not come with a stock USB cable. The focal clears have a nice sound-stage. Not artificially wide like the HD800, but not narrow either. It has a laid back and relaxed sound that you can listen to for hours without being fatigued. They are quite easy to drive which makes them quite portable, easily runs off a DAP. The sound is quite spectacular in this pairing. I spent quite some time demo'ing various amplifiers at minidisc before settling with the CMA400i. It has a very beautiful and emotional sound to it, easily driving the clears with its Current mode tech. Please note, all three of the stock cables broke with audio missing from one channel. Reading online, this was a very common occurrence and frankly the stock cables were extremely irritating to use in the first place. New value of this package is $2200 + $1300 + $100 + $355 + $85 + $140 = $4280 Kind Regards, Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  19. Item: Vero 50ex Headphone Amplifier and MIT 330 0.6m stereo input cable Location: Northern Tasmania Price: $1990 Item Condition: Virtually new - used less than 8 hours Reason for selling: Surplus to requirements Payment Method: Bank Transfer Extra Info: Purchased on impulse as a possible upgrade. Maybe not an upgrade but a genuine surprise to find that with unbalanced input it sounded identical to my Violextric V281 connected in balanced mode. I was told it would "burn in" but I did not observe that in the few hours I tried it out. My appraisal it is as good as the Violectric is with good foundation because I had both amps going at the same time with each connected to Sennheiser HD800S headphones with the same after market cabling. I merely changed over headphones in a matter seconds to compare the two with the AQ from classical. jazz and pop. So here is an amplifier for the audiophile without a balanced setup that will sound as good as a Violectric V281 in balanced mode. Another advantage is its small size and the fact that running on battery, heat and ventillation are not an issue. It could even be used in portable mode away from a power point. I have not registered it so the buyer will have new warranty. The price in the USA is $USD3000 (which is $AUD4400 before GST)for the amp so I'm selling it, virtually new, at less than half price so it is a genuine bargain with MIT input cabling thrown in. I'm not keeping it as the Violectric is doing the same job and my main headphone listening system is set up for it - no advantage for me to keep the Vero and sell the Violectric. And I must confess to having been lazy about selling it - it has been sitting on the shelf unused for over 12 months but it is tinme for it to go to someone as a nice Xmas present! You can read more detail about the amp at https://mitcables-buyersclub.com/products/vero-hca-50ex-headphone-amplifier Feel free to PM me with any questions. 20. Item: Alex Cavalli Tube Hybrid (CTH) Headphone Amp Location: Canberra Price: $240 incl. postage Item Condition: 9/10 Reason for selling: Recouping $ Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal Extra Info: I've had this amplifier for about a year. I've driven both Massdrop Sennheiser HD6XX and Nuraphones (corded) through it, either streaming Spotify and Tidal, or CDs played through a desktop Teac DR-L700. Recently also used with a Schiit Modi 3 DAC. It comes with the original switched mode PSU with a US form-factor prongs. It's my first valve-based / hybrid unit. Its character is both detailed, with a revealing soundstage, but also has that softer relaxing valve character that makes extended listening a pleasure. Valve-swapping ('tube-rolling') is of course possible with this. The fit and finish of the CTH are exemplary and its neat dimensions means that it doesn't occupy much desk-space. The surface finish is a satin black that doesn't mark easily from fingers. The connections have a quality feel also. It has both a normal 6.3mm jack and a balanced (4 pin XLR) connection. The original packaging is good quality and makes for easy and secure posting. Drop (formerly known as Massdrop) current pricing is US$250 plus shipping and of cpurse the Gerry Harvey import tax (10% or so). Bought from AUS store 3/10/19 Reason for selling: NLR upgrading to Auralic/Luxman combo Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only The iFi iCAN PRO is a high-performance device and is a perfect studio-grade audiophile line-stage and headphone amplifier. There are two individual parts in this device which are solid-state and tube amplification sections. Studio-grade Headphone Amplifier The Studio-grade Headphone Amplifier of the Pro iCAN outputs >10V in the single-ended mode and 20V in the balanced mode. While the 20V mode of this device is equivalent to 100W into a 4 Ohm speaker. Also, this device is adjustable from 0dB/9dB/18dB that allows it to work efficiently. Audiophile Line-Stage The Audiophile Line Stage is integrated with the ‘6-Track’ version with four tracks that is used for a truly balanced volume control. 23. Item: Luxman Location: Perth Price: $4000 Item Condition:Execellent Reason for selling: Upgrade to M700U Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD , Electronic funds transfer Extra Info: I am the original owner purchased new in July 2014. I have the original packaging and can ship nationwide( your cost) with a carrier of your choice the remote has been in a clear bag since purchase and the manual is included, the phone photos dont do it justice but i cant see any marks apart from fingerprints I have been so impressed with this unit I expected to see out my days with it I recently upgraded my speakers from Harbeth HL Super HL5 to Tannoy Kensingtons and was amazed at the synergy and what the Luxman added gobs of current , power finesse and dynamism this amp will work beautifully with most speakers out there and is more powerful than the 110 watts suggest. With the 87db Harbeth it idled along with ample in reserve. Well, if its so good, why am I getting rid of it. I began to wonder what something higher up the range would be like and then fell into the trap of Stereonent classifieds I considered the top of the range 509x even used, double the asking of this, I asked the Luxman dealer who has had both, if i would get anything like a doubling of performance, or if i would hear it and think" that was and extra 4k well spent", no in both cases. the specs aren't that different either, Or the Class A, different, better for some but not for many. You will find a 505 ux cheaper, but( I am no golden ears ) the jump in performance is evident. I decided that this was the sweet spot in the range and would cope with upgrades well into the future, which it can. Just hoping my upgrade (bought unheard) is actually that. I can Demo this in East Vic Park you are welcome to bring or speakers or if not feasible can bring to yours to try with your room setup, for serious buyers only. If you are remote and cant get to hear one of these they hold their value and always sell so little risk thanks for reading Grant Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.
