I recently recorded some drums at a studio in Sydney called Crash Symphony Productions(https://www.crashsymphony.com.au/recording-studio/). They had an interesting contraption that they had built which was essentially a drum tunnel. Most audio engineers would know what a drum tunnel is for a kick drum. It is designed to isolate the kick drum microphones from the rest of the drum kit. Bleed from other drums, particularly the cymbals, can get on to the kick mics. This contraption, they can coined "The Dog House", seemed to work really well. It was the best isolation of kick drum microphones that I had heard. We checked what it sounded like with it on the kick and with it off and the improvement was night and day.
I was wondering if there are any hardware drum tunnels like this that are for sale on the market? I've not seen one myself.
