This is why we designed the VOKAL to be a fool-proof hit in any home, both in terms of performance and physicality. Firstly, armed with our sublime 6½ inch low-loss Wood Fibre Woofer, Hybrid Tweeter module and front-pointing bass port, you can be assured that the action on the screen in front of you is seamlessly soundtracked, with deftly handled detail drawing you deeper in. Perfect with any of the compact speakers in the series, but at the same time powerful enough to match just about any set of speakers. Secondly, with an eye on practicality, the OPTICON VOKAL has also been designed to fit most makes of Hi-Fi furniture due to the front facing bass ports, meaning it can be neatly stowed away – a plus point for aesthetically minded home owners and home cinema custom installers alike. But it will work just as well out in the open. Photos: Advertisements without photos of the actual item will not be approved.

  7. Item: Jamo E5CEN.5 compact centre speaker Location: Gembrook or Knoxfield, VIC Price: $100 Item Condition: Very good. Some wear in bottom left corner of grille as shown in photo, but only noticeable from close-up. Reason for selling: Upgraded. Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only. Happy to post at buyers expense. Extra Info: 70W RMS. 100W Peak. 8 Ohms. 2x 4" Mid-bass. 1x 1" dome tweeter. 90dB/2.8V/1m. Frequency range: 65-20,000Hz. Shielded drivers. 438 (W) x 136 (H) x 150 (D). 4.4kg This is a great little Centre-channel speaker if you have limited space, which was the reason I purchased it. It's a sealed enclosure, so not too fussy with placement either. Have owned since new and it hasn't been worked hard. Recent changes to my HT system meant that I was able to upgrade to something larger and a little better. Pictures: Jamo E5_brochure.pdf
  8. Item: Dynaudio Contour SCX Centre Speaker with Matching Stand Location: Brisbane, Qld Price: $2000 with stand. ($1700 without stand) Item Condition: 9/10, Excellent Reason for selling: No Longer used Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Bank Deposit Extra Info: I am the second owner of this speaker and bought it off the original owner about 2 years ago. It is in perfect unmarked condition and comes with the optional (adjustable) Dynaudio "Centre Base2" Stand. The stand alone sold for $900 I believe. The CSX Centre speaker (rrp $4199) is significantly better than the standard Contour SC Centre (rep $2799). The next step up the Dynaudio range in the way of a centre is the $10k Confidence centre, so in my mind the CSX is the pick of the bunch (bang for buck wise) if you are looking for a centre speaker to match Dynaudio Foucs, Contour or Confidence front speakers. The SCX uses the Esotar tweeter which I believe is the same one used in the Dynaudio Confidence range. This centre speaker sounds superb. Voices are articulate and natural sounding through this centre and it really brought my home theatre experience to the next level. I apologise if I have any of the above RRPs wrong. I got them all from google - http://www.rio.com.a...nds/5/dynaudio/ I just wanted to give you an idea of where this speaker sits in the Dynaudio range. There are no marks, dings or dents on the speaker, and it is in perfect working order. There is a small mark on the back corner of the "Centre BAse2" stand which I have tried to show in the last pic. You can't see this mark unless you bend down behind the speaker and look carefully. I have the original box and manual and can post anywhere in australia at buyers cost and risk. Willing to sell the speaker separately to the "Centre Base2" Stand - see pricing above.

  11. Item: 1 x Monitor Audio Apex A40 Speaker Gloss Black (Centre or Left/Right) Location: Wollongong, but I will deliver to Sydney for free Price: $500 Item Condition: Excellent, as new barely used. Reason for selling: Upgrade fever made me upgrade to a different speakers a few months after buying - much to displeasure of wife Payment Method: Pickup - Cash on pickup, sorry it can't be posted Extra Info: This is for 1 x Monitor Audio Apex A40 Speaker (LCR). An excellent speaker to be sure, well regarded in reviews and with owners. If I had to describe it, I would say it is exceedingly crisp, loud and clear. Sounded great with my Yamaha AVR and Monitor Audio Floor Standers. It can be used as a centre speaker when placed horizontally or as a Left or Right speaker when placed vertically. It is designed to be either mounted on the wall (bracket included in sale) or it can be laid on a surface like conventional centre speaker. It has hardly been used (<40 hours total), no scratches or wear. I was going to use this in my setup as it can be wall mounted but then changed my mind and got a different (larger) centre - much to displeasure of wife. I'm looking to salvage some resemblance of credibility by selling the A40. It is the current model still being sold new and retails for around $1100 new. Inspections welcome. For specifications please follow link below: https://www.monitoraudio.com/en/product-ranges/apex/apex-a40/ A review: http://www.trustedreviews.com/reviews/monitor-audio-apex As I haven't sold anything on SNA. 14. Hi Folks, I’m hoping I can get a bit of help with, well, what I hope is a set-up issue and not a technical issue. I’ve written a pretty detailed background below (a short novel – sorry!) which I hope helps. Background is: I have a Marantz SR5009 receiver running a set of Arron speakers - ATS-5s at the front, SS-120 rears and, up until recently, an Accusound Ref 8.6 centre. I’m afraid there’s no sub at the moment – which has recently been pointed out to me as something I should address, but that’s another story… It’s all in a moderate sized loungeroom, 4.2m x 3.2m So when I got this set-up towards 3 years ago, I plugged it in, let Audyssey do its thing and that was pretty much it… I know I eventually had to set the rears to ‘small’ because Audyssey set them to ‘large’ (crazy!) and maybe I did something else – I really can’t remember in detail – but largely it worked nicely from the get go (I’m sure a pro could have tweaked it better of course, but from where I started it was a damn fine solution!) I recently grabbed an Aaron CC-120 centre speaking – I badly want the CC-240 but it turns out Aaron closed down recently so I jumped at a 120 that was available, thinking it would at least be a tad better than the Accusound. (Still keen on a CC-240 if anyone’s got one hanging around they want to offload??? ) Again, I plugged it in, let Audyssey do its thing, but this time it just didn’t all gel like it previously had. Biggest problem funnily enough is the centre, it just seemed a bit muffled. I thought it might have been just due to a new speaker needing time to settle in, so I left it for a bit but the more I listened the more I could hear it. Plus, the volume I had to turn the system up to in order to (just) understand dialogue was now 55+, as opposed to 45 that previously worked a treat for just about everything. Next step of experimenting was to put the Accusound back in, but it seems even with the Accusound it was sounding like it had a thick towel draped over the front. So it feels like something has gone awry and I can’t figure out what! It really seems like tonal thing more so than a volume thing – people with deeper voices sound muffled while higher voices are a bit better but not perfect. I’ve also dabbled with increasing the volume of the centre speaker and that hasn’t really helped much (and I never had to do that before.) A couple of key tweaking areas I’ve tried: Dynamic EQ: I set this to ON initially and have experimented with on and off. It seems better with this OFF. Since turning it off I can understand dialogue a bit better, but it’s still not right. Dynamic Volume: Currently set to HEAVY. I’ve tried turning it off and I find I have no volume in the system at all when I do that (definitely not how it was before my centre speaker experiment) Crossovers: I have to note that in my original setup I never played with the crossover setting, partly because I didn’t understand it, partly because I didn’t have a sub and, ultimately, cos it just kinda worked – so I never ventured there and I haven't touched them myself this time either, but at the moment it looks like this Audyssey says Front ‘Full Band’, Centre ‘40Hz’ and Surround ‘Full Band’ If I look at manual config it says it’s doing Individual selection, but ‘Surround’ is the only one I can select and it says ’40Hz’ Bass: LPF for LFE 250Hz So, there’s my story – sorry for the length but hopefully there’s good info in there for receiving advice. Many thanks in advance!! Cam
  15. Hi all, I have a Marantz SR5009 receiver running a set of Arron speaker - ATS-5s at the front, SS-120 rears and CC-120 centre. The receiver asks you to set the speakers to either 'large' or 'small', which I gather is pretty much what they all do these days. I've got the fronts as large, the rears as small. Question is - what's the best option for the CC-120 centre? Doesn't exactly seem small to me, but neither would I expect it to be large? There's a set of specs here if that helps - https://www.avconcept.com.au/av-concepts-products-toowoomba/for-the-home/speakers/other-speakers/aaron-cc120/ And I guess I'm curious about whether there's a general rule to follow for this setting? How do you decide what's large and what's small? Thanks for your tips! Cam
