  2. Hi folks, I've been baby sitting my brother's surround sound system for a while and he's decided to stay in London on a semi-permanent basis... so I've got this awesome custom made centre channel for sale in IVANHOE, Melbourne, VIC. It was built to match a couple of Jamo 365D left and right speakers. It has the clarity you'd expect from a Trevor Lees and the type of output you'd expect from a speaker of its size. In the hands of someone who loves their sound system and can appropriately match the components, this is a phenomenally good speaker. I was going to sell it on e-bay but my brother scolded me and told me that it would be better appreciated by people on the DTV Forum. I know my brother would prefer to see it in the hands of a real audio enthusiast who can use it to compliment their set up. 700mm wide (exact measurements) 215mm high 515mm deep Originally used with Jamo 365D speakers, which are quite large and some small Polk Audio speakers as the rears. Dust cover in perfect order. Works as new. No damage whatsoever. $440 (originally over $800) I'm moving house, so this item must be sold and collected by Sat 31 March Pick up only from Ivanhoe, VIC.

  4. Item: Bowers & Wilkins HTM1D Centre Speaker Location: Perth Price: $5000 Item Condition: Used Reason for selling: No longer required Payment Method: Pickup - Cash Extra Info: Quite possibly one of the biggest and baddest Centre channels you’ll ever find. It’s quite rare to see these for sale, especially in Oz. The HTM1D is the largest of four centre speakers in the 800 Series. The full configuration of FSTTM midrange in a Marlan® sphere / tube ‘head’ with diamond dome tweeter on top is used, so that the system perfectly voice matches either the 800D, 801D or 802D in a substantial and powerful multi-channel installation. The HTM1D uses three 8” diameter Rohacell® cone drivers with twin rear-firing FlowportsTM. All drivers are, of course, magnetically shielded to avoid picture distortion with CRT-based screens. The HTM1D is specifically intended to be mounted on the floor, its low profile allowing a large projection screen to come within 2 ft. of the floor. Supplied with the system are four heavy-duty height-adjustable feet. This design allows up to 1.6” of vertical adjustment so that the speaker may be tilted back to face more towards the listeners. They have a case hardened spike at one end for carpeted floors, and a non-marking rubber pad on the other for more vulnerable surfaces. http://bwgroupsupport.com/downloads/specsheets/bw/HTM1D InfoSheet.pdf Pictures:

  9. Item: Sonus Faber SOLO centre channel Location: Box Hill South Price: $400 Item Condition: good condition Reason for selling: Selling for a friend who is downsizing Payment Method: Cash, DD, Paypal to friend Extra Info: One owner, purchased brand new for a perfect fit with his Electa Amators. Sonus Faber centre channels rarely come up for sale second-hand! There's a couple of simple reasons for that - they are not plastic and they are not half thought out cheaply designed or made. This unit weighs nearly 13kgs and is the real deal. Finished in a real black leather covering, even your other half will be hard pressed to not find it less than elegant. Yes, there are three blemishes in the leather, but they have not been tarted up here. With the use of a black texta I am sure they will almost disappear. Just wish to be upfront here. Yes, I have the original boxes (they are in excellent cond.) and am happy to ship at your cost. Of course, local pickup always preferred. Pictures:

  11. Hi All, I have a Yamaha RX-V1065 receiver and I had 4 speakers (only) for about 7 years in my very small apartment. Obviously I endured a phantom centre in the system and honestly, I wasn't unhappy with it through the years. I got some speare speakers and so I put them side by side in my system and wired them I believe in series parallel The speakers are from TLS, the M4's http://www.theloudspeakerkit.com/lsk-m4-mini-monitor-kit-single/ http://www.dansdata.com/m4kit.htm I'm playing all my media from a HTPC, via HDMI through an nvidia card Windows is configured to output 5.1 channels. I literally sit 7.5' from the speakers, that's ear to speaker cone - pretty damn close. http://imgur.com/KhtAMPs So here's the thing, I'm not sharp with speakers, hifi, home audio. Am I doing something wrong? I'm finding that the voices are simply too quiet. I've used the YAPO thing to adjust the centre channel. Is my amp too weak to drive 2 speakers in series parallel? Can anyone give me some tips? My next step is to actually completely disable the centre channel on the amp, keep using the phantom for a few weeks just to be sure it's not my imagination? It's distinctively voices (centre) which seem to be insufficient. (I've tried setting them to small and large on the amp) Thanks for your time. EDIT: Just FWIW, I don't believe I drive my system excessively loud, quite modest infact. I don't think my hearing is damaged, I just want clear, distinct voices, I get the impression most movies unfortunately seem to send ALL the goddamn sound to the centre and even the fronts are only used sparingly.
