  1. Hi Guys, I'm about to venture on wiring up outdoor speakers and need to run cable from AV through internal single brick wall, then up into ceiling then drop down again outside under eves. Any thoughts on best penetration face plates, whether to run one continuous cable all the way, or break it up with plugs and faceplate connectors in wall and ceiling etc. Whether to drop out through eves outside, or better to drop down in double brick wall cavity and come out through brick wall etc ?? Any pros/cons/lessons learnt/links to good products etc would be much appreciated. Cheers, Jimmy
  2. Hi All, I have just recently purchased a Marantz SR7702 MKII Pro which is running with 2 Rotel RMB 1095 Power Amps and an Aaron 2 Channel amp to help with the remaining In-Ceiling speakers. Currently running a 7.1 setup with POLK floor standing speakers all round, I'm looking to purchase 4 In-Ceiling speakers for ATMOS/DTS:X. I'm after some advice as to which brands are best suited for this type of setup. At this point my budget is no more than 1k. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers!
  3. Hi, I am planning for an HT room and would like to go Atmos/DTS-X. It is more the restricted Atmos setup with the ceiling speakers that is making my life difficult. I have an exposed ceiling with the roof studs starting at 220cm and the ceiling at 250cm. In the picture, the black cubes are the 7 channel setup, (I know, no center or sub in the picture), the orange cube are Atmos 35 degree angle from LS, and the green are Atmos 45 degree angle from LS speakers. The six grey cubes are "chairs" and the blue box in the back of the room is a pantry that I cannot move, I might build a cabinet in the other corner in the back to mirror it. I was thinking for the LS and RS to go with bi-pole speakers, to suit the back row. For the LSB and RSB I will probably go with mono pole speakers due to the pantry (and possible cabinet) For the ceiling speakers I was thinking to go with box speakers angled toward the LS. These speakers within the Atmos preferred dimension will sit smack bang against the exposed roof stud. I could build a lowered floating ceiling to mount the speakers in, but they exposed roof studs will still be in the way since I don't want to lower my ceiling to 220cm height. Going Atmos 7.2.2 will have the same problem that the ceiling speaker will be sitting smack bang against the next exposed roof stud. What would be the best option if not DTS-X
  4. Hi all, Do you want to get started with a scope widescreen setup then this is the perfect place to start. I am selling my CAVX Aussiemorphic MK3 lens with the CA corrector. As you can see in the photos I currently have mine ceiling mounted and use a manual DIY slide to move in and out of the projector’s light path. This also comes with the lens. This is a great budget lens and the CA corrector makes a big difference. I am happy to post, but will do so at the buyer's expense. $800 ONO
  5. I've just gotten started researching what will make up my home theatre and one of the things I'm very keen on is having everything hidden away when not in use. (This is because the room will not be singularly dedicated as purely a home theatre room but will double as the lounge area.) As such, I was looking at motorised lift systems (I had no idea they were so expensive!) - what I've been able to find so far are linked below: http://www.justprojectors.com.au/hermaflipper.htm http://www.justprojectors.com.au/hermadipper.htm http://www.avaustralia.com.au/interfit-lifters-projector-lifts-projector-lift-with-connect/ (Or something from here? http://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?fsb=y&IndexArea=product_en&CatId=&SearchText=projector+lift - I'm not familiar with alibaba, does one need a trading license or business to purchase/import?) Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for something that won't cost as much as (or more than) the actual projector unit? Much appreciated.
